Central Park West Shooting : Lost my glasses
Hi,
I unforutnatley found myself next to the man who pulled the gun and started shooting with him just a few feet away from me. I dropped my bag in shock and tried to pick it up and hop the wall. I made it over the wall but my bag didn't and I somehow lost my glasses in the process. I got my bag back luckily but no one has been able to locate glasses. The landscapers in the park gave me permission to hop the fence to go and look for them in the bushes but it happened so quickly I can't really remember where I jumped over. It was also suggested that maybe I dropped them on the street when making a run for it. If you've found a pair of black frame Moscot glasses on Central Park West between 70th and 71st along the stone wall lining the park please let me know.
I also want to thank everyone in the area for helping my client and I. The woman who took my camera and held onto it as my client catapulted me back over the wall. (I was in the middle of a photoshoot and leaped over with my camera in hand). The group of gentlemen who spotted my bag with my MacBook and wallet down the street. And to the two women who came up and said "I'm sure no ones asked you this but are you okay". That meant a lot. Because I was standing next to the guy I was questioned about 3 times but being asked that question meant more than you know. And to the man with the glasses and hat who saw me fly over the wall from the dog park and thought I was potentially the shooter trying to hide, I appreciate the story and a good laugh. I've shared it with several people today.
Also the police asked for footage and not one person had their phone out. I was actually proud that everyone in the moment was helping each other and checking on one another rather than filming, so again thank you. And my apologies for dropping the F bomb profusely in the bushes. My client and I both landed on our backs and it hurt like hell. I underestimated how high up the sidewalk is front the ground on the other side. Fun fact: If you have one of the newer Apple Watches and you hit the ground hard enough it automatically calls 911 for you.
**I checked with the Central Park Police and the 20th Precinct that responded and they didn't have anything of mine.
