Chrysoberyl - How does yours look?

Can anyone share if they have a Chrysoberyl gemstone and how theirs looks? I’m seeing different shades but would love to see how it looks!

Are these real? Worth it?

There’s an estate sale happening near me soon and they had these posted. Do these look real? If so, what kind of jade is it? What’s a good price range for them? Debating if I should go check them out.

CAD review

I got the CAD back, in terms of durability is 1.5mm thickness below enough for a size 4.25? I’ve been seeing recommended should be at least 1.8mm.

Recommended vendor for thís?

Looking to get this ring set made—a two-piece set with a diamond spiral ring and a solid gold stacker band.

Would you consider this design simple or more complicated? I’ve reached out to a few vendors (StarGems, Provence, Fiorese, and Paston) for quotes. Still waiting to get replies from everyone.

From what I’ve seen in reviews, vendor recs can vary depending on the ring design and how complex it is. I’m not sure where this design falls, but I want to go with someone who can make sure both rings are well-made and fit/stack perfectly together.

Hatoya Fermented Matcha

I bought Hatoya’s fermented matcha to try on a whim and love it! If you like a bold, umami-forward matcha, I highly recommend Hatoya’s fermented matcha!

I find it rich, bold, and super creamy in a latte. I shared some with my friend who drinks usucha and she found it to be way too intense lol but also loved it in a latte. So heads up if you try it as usucha 😅

Because the fermentation gives it such a strong, unique flavor, I use 3g of matcha with 120ml of milk to help mellow it out. I personally love a bold, nutty, umami flavor, so this was great in terms of a bold umami flavor.

Just a heads up—the fermented flavor is definitely noticeable, so if you prefer a lighter, more delicate matcha, this might not be for you 😅 But if you love a strong, savory, umami-rich cup, I recommend this one!

Opening a New Matcha Tin..

I swear I tried opening it slowly.. but then it felt like a tiny explosion happened. Could’ve been worse. Could’ve been saved 😂 Definitely prefer the baggies.

Microfoam improving!

The difference from day 1 to day 8! Finally achieving the microfoam!

Edit: I used yamamasa koyamaen matcha for both videos. Instructional videos I watched said it could be achieved in 2-3 minutes. I found myself whisking 10-15 minutes. I don’t think I was whisking vigorously enough so it took me longer to get that microfoam consistency.

Ratio: 4g of matcha with 40-45ml of water.
Did the paste method and did not sift my matcha (mainly because I didn’t have a sifter yet. So it’s possible to get it without sifting).

MK order arrived!

My order from MK came in! This came pretty quick. Excited I was able to get just about everything I wanted to try except for Wako but that’s okay 🙂

Milkis + Matcha

Current obsession: Matcha cream foam, matcha with milkis

What other kind of drinks have you made besides a matcha latte?!

Thinking of trying yakult + matcha next. I know coconut + matcha cream foam is popular and gonna try that next, then there’s a yuzu tonic too? Any other suggestions? 🙂

Latte I’ve made

Been making lattes at home! I’ll make a matcha latte for a couple days and switch to hojicha just to have something a little different 🙂

Matcha/Hojicha latte with oat milk
Matcha/Hojicha strawberry latte with oat milk
Matcha with milkis (this was surprisingly good 😅)
