Older models up in value

Older models up in value

I was not aware that these older models like my X-E2 are going up in value, kinda funny with pretty modern electronics.

I picked this up in 2022 as a fun camera, used for under $400. Now I’m seeing comparable cameras used for over $500! Is this just being driven by popularity of Fujis newer models? Or is used camera gear overall just up in price with everything else in the world?

I’m not complaining really, although I love deals on old gear and they do seem fewer and further between than they used to.

Garden Alien - X-T3, 16-80 F4

The 16-80 F4 is by no means a macro lens but has a pretty mean minimum focus. I know most people here are SOOC folks but the RAW files really give you a lot of wiggle room for shots like this

Eastern WA Moose - A7Rii, 70-300mm

I’ve been photographing moose in Eastern WA for the last 5 years, this is one of the better shots I have achieved.

Still hoping for the grail shot of a male with antlers, will probably head to the Tetons for that one

Thamserku, Nepal

I thought I’d share an image from trekking in Nepal. This is Thamserku, viewed from outside Namche Bazaar. This was taken with an A7rii and Sony 70-300mm

Ol’ CJ still on (and off) the road

No ducks, no dash 🤷‍♂️

Painted Turtle - A7Rii Sony 70-300mm

Out shooting wildlife with some old gear, still takes nice photos! Little guy was missing part of his front foot, still getting around well

Any Jeep mechanics in the area?

I have an ‘83 CJ7 that I’ve been fixing up over the last few years and I’m wondering if anyone knows any mechanics in the area that they would recommend for old Jeeps / 4x4s etc.?

Even if anyone just knows folks in the community with a lot of knowledge about them that would be helpful. I’d love to even just bounce some thoughts off of them

Thanks!

Tire shop shuffle

Got some new tires on the ol’ CJ today and their little lift they had in the bay didn’t have enough reach lol. Had a nice chat with 3-4 of the employees because they don’t see old Jeeps too often.

One of the best looking cards in my PC

Really hope they continue the Cupfractor design in 2026 Chrome. I know people hate on them expanding on the parallels, but this is the best refractor style I have ever seen in hand. The cup design jumps off the card almost with a 3d effect.

If you haven’t seen one of these in person and come across one, I highly recommend grabbing one.

First Superfractor

I’ve never hit one, but I’ve always wanted to add one to the PC. Being a Mariners fan, I was always on the lookout for a Mariners player, and was unlikely to pay up for one of the big boys (Julio, Cal, etc.)

Got this for a very reasonable price and Victor has become I think a bit of a fan favorite in Seattle.

I’d love to see others Superfractors that they have either added to their PC or pulled themselves!

Product of the year so far! 2 hobby boxes, lots of fun

This product is really what Topps should be striving for. Tons of fun to open, great design, lots of color! Love the “veteran” autos too.

The only problem is the price on the second hand market. These were preorder boxes and I won’t be gouged, so probably just singles after this.

OG white wagon wheels

Picked up a set of used wheels and tires this weekend for super cheap. Love the white wagon wheels and I’ve been looking for a used set since I bought the Jeep. I didn’t want brand new ones since it wouldn’t fit the rest of the “patina” lol.

Don’t know how long I’ll be able to stand the ol’ Mickey Thompson MT’s, they sound like I’m driving on rumble strips at low speed! I’ll see how they do off-road.

Besides continuing to tinker and fix things, I think I’m pretty happy as she sits. The whole “build” has been the product of Craigslist and FB marketplace. I like old junk more than any of the new stuff personally

eBay Scammer

Was looking for current comps on ‘25 Heritage Ben Rice autos and lo and behold one of the recent “sold” auction listings is my card!

You may have seen my previous posts here, I like to use a black background, light box, and real camera to photograph and share my cards here. So this jumped out pretty quickly to me. Plus the mag case is distinctive.

Checked the seller and obviously a scammer with (-3) feedback. I have reported to EBay, but may as well name and shame here too.

Last photo is the one I posted here just a month or so ago, so the EBay scammer is probably lurking here as well

JP Orange Sapphire

Since it is likely JP’s last season as a Mariner, I’ve been picking up a few nostalgia pieces! Love how affordable most of his cards are

Wondering what everyone thinks on Ben Rice as a sell or hold guy right now? I pulled this on release last year and see that it’s going for $200-300 currently for some latest EBay comps

Wondering if I should see if he stays hot thru the season or consider selling now, or just hold for the PC long term?
