Decorated some shoes with subtle colored beads. Now I’m unsure about wearing them

Ive never disclosed my identity with anyone outright. Im going to be in a different part of the country for a few months where I’ll know absolutely nobody, so I thought it would be a fairly safe way share my pride.

But now…I’m not sure if I want people knowing. I’d love to be seen and accepted by people who know what the colors mean without having to tell them. However, my identity feels really personal and I haven’t decided if I want to openly label myself as ace, or only disclose it to people I really trust.

Also, I’m worried if being open will affect my dating life. I’d initially hoped the colors would subtly inform people I’m interested in without having to break it to them later on…but now I’m worried it will drive people away since asexual is often confused with aromantic.

But anyway…I made my shoes pretty lol yay

What am I supposed to do with my arms when I’m trying to sleep?!

I have such a hard time getting comfortable when sleeping, specifically where my arms are supposed to go. I usually end up sleeping on my side, but my arms get in the way. Usually I end up sleeping with T. rex arms with my fists clenched, which is neither comfortable nor healthy. Seriously, what am I supposed to do with my arms?!

Need recs with tomboy/less feminine FLs!

Hi, I'm new! What the title says: when I search for shoujo I end up with a lot ultra feminine characters and aesthetics, which I know is a staple of the genre but I feel like I'm just scratching the surface and want some variety.

My all time favorite is OHSHC, I love Haruhi as an androgynous character. I'm currently reading Princess Jellyfish which features a group of nerdy/awkward female characters. I also want to read/watch Tomo Chan is a Girl, which isn't shoujo but I love Tomo's personality and her dynamic with the love interest.

Based these preferences, what would you recommend?

What is people's beef with using the word "partner"???

This is not an ace-specific issue, it goes for anyone. Lately, I've come across some videos online making fun of couples who refer to eachother as "partners" rather than boyfriend/girlfriend, etc.

It's not just one creator, I've seen the opinion expressed by multiple people. They think that hetero-presenting couples are "too straight" to use it and if they do, then the man in the relationship is beta and/or gay. There's definitely some misogyny and homophobia rooted in it.

As an acespec person, it reminds me of aphobia and biphobia. Personally, I prefer the term "partner" because I feel like it describes what I want in a relationship better than "girlfriend/boyfriend". People should be able to call their significant other whatever best suits their dynamic, and it feels like we're regressing in that sense.

Minor annoyances about long hair

Kind of a mini rant? I (21F) am growing out my short hair to mid length (a little lower than my shoulders) but I don't think I can go any further than that due to this absolute pet peeve I have about long hair.

How do people with long hair decide whether to wear it in front or behind their shoulders??? When my hair was longer I would constantly tuck it behind my ear or push it behind my shoulders because I felt like it was always in my face. Worse, when I wore it in front there was always a section of hair left behind in the back.

I feel like long hair hides the top part of your outfit too by covering your chest. I think it looks great styled, but unless you straighten your hair everyday and use product to keep it sleek the hair goes everywhere.

So basically I'm asking people with long hair-do you have these same pet peeves? How do you deal with them? or Maybe it's just a me problem and I should stick to shorter hair.

I have always wanted some natural texture in my hair but never had much luck with my current length (I’m trying to grow it out). Recently I think I’ve been getting some waves? I just wish it was either all wavy or all straight, because I don‘t know what to do with a few wavy pieces.
