Looking for a fiber laser for my shop, leaning towards xTool F2. Talk me into a better one

The xTool looks like exactly what we need. The auto focus, MOPA, and ease of use would be great. We are using an old universal laser VL4.60 and largely marking SS tags for identification. I have to cheap it by spraying a thin layer of moly lube on it to coat it black, and then it can mark it but isn't great. Now it's starting to be inconsistent and not burning strong enough.

So, I'm using this as an opportunity to get something more purpose build. Largely I want to be able to mark and engrave on a variety of metals, with flexibility of part geometry. Like marking curved surfaces on parts that can't use a rotary.not planning to really cut metal but that would be nice.

I've been trying to read up on the options and MOPA with auto focus and a large work envelope would be ideal. Ease of use (I will have to train people a lot to use it so it's not always me) and quick setup and reliability are important. And speed of marking metals.

xTool F2 with 60w fiber laser seems like the way to go. BUT looking at people's reviews and postings on Reddit, there is a lot of negative feedback, largely on the support.

I want to pull the trigger when I get back to work Tuesday as we need something pretty quick. What are your thoughts?

About $5k is the budget but is flexible if it makes sense.

What alloy and surface treatment do they use for hydraulic breaker tools?

I've made a couple custom in a pinch with 4340 QT for a customer and they seem to be working fine, but I would like to make them right in the future.

Do you think I am in the right ballpark for alloy? I picked 4340 for it's combination off strength, toughness, and hardness. But I didn't have time to send to any great treatment afterwards.

All the tools I've seen are black, is it a blueing process? Black iron oxide? Or is it just from oil quenching?

Just looking for ideas to make my product the best, and not just a bandaid fix.

Wildlife identification book suggestions?

I'm looking for a book/s that can help me and my young daughters identify animals, bugs, birds, etc in the area. Lots of color illustrations! Any good suggestions?

I went to clean up poop from the yard after work and her movement today had pale film on it. It looked like what uncooked sausage skin looks like. When I shifted it, it fell apart easily.

It was probably from a few hours before, I don't know if it came out looking like that. Maybe it was just a fast acting slime mold? I've never seen anything like it before.

I did start a new food for her last week. Purina Beneful. She seems to like it a lot more than any other kibble I've gotten.
