I had no idea Hakeem had a finals appearance in his sophomore season.

That’s pretty freaking impressive, I’m surprised he didn’t go to the finals more often with a trajectory like that. What was going on in Houston ? Did they just lie in wait for Jordan to retire before deciding to go back to back, only to disappear into the sunset when he returned 2 years later ?

Someone from the mod team seems a bit pretentious

Context: I made a post yesterday asking if anyone has actually had a good landlord with a couple positive responses till the post got taken down.

I don’t own, and don’t think I’ll ever be able to, and as a lifelong renter who’s definitely had a fair share of rental nightmares, I’m all for sticking it to the man and quite honestly the housing crisis, cost of living and general state of things has left things looking quite bleak for our future but there is a HUGE difference between owning a 400+ property portfolio, and renting out the place you inherited off ya nan. There is a HUGE difference between renting out a decent 3 bedroom at an affordable rate to a family who might not otherwise be able to afford a mortgage with an unpredictable variable interest rates, compared to a greedy scumbag passing on his own investment costs to the people just trying to get by. There is a HUGE difference between fixing, paying and sorting any problems or issues your tenant might have without a fuss over milking every last dollar out of them.

I’m not excusing any of the BS we have to go through as renters, our conditions suck and they’re only getting worse, not to mention the state of the rentals that get posted here for the price is atrocious. Most real estate agents are a massive POS and just as bad, if not worse than most landlords and I’m not excusing any of them, I just think (hope) there are still good ones out there, that won’t raise the rent just so the REA can make some more profit off of us, which I’ve seen personally on this subreddit and I’m glad that they’re still out there.

Look, in a perfect world, we’d all be buying houses at a minimal fixed interest rate with a deposit that would’ve taken us no more than a couple years to save up while not even sacrificing our “$6 coffees” (lol boomers), but let’s just be realistic, if we genuinely had the means, and a well paying job, why wouldn’t you buy an extra property if it meant a bit of an early retirement and setting the kids up with a good future? I have no issue with anyone who does that, and greedy scumbags who have taken advantage of our tax/legal system and used every means and loophole to hoard as many properties as possible are the ones I have a drama with, hopefully whoever banned my post can see the difference.

EDIT: I’m sure this post will also get taken down and I’ll get banned but oh well, back to avo on toast I guess

Aussies, what’s your favourite dark leaf ?

Quit heavily smoking for about couple years, got a hookah for my birthday with some Al Fakher flavours which were nice but didn’t “hit”. I only want to smoke shisha every now and then but I’d really like something strong and someone had suggested a dark leaf like Tangiers. I was about to purchase some Tangiers till I read some reviews that it’s absolutely horrible these days so I was wondering if anyone else had any other suggestions for brands and/or possibly flavours ( I really like fresh fruity ones like Apple,kiwi,lemon orange mint). I did see Darkside is another good option but I just wanted to know if there are any other recommendation before I order a couple hundred bucks worth of flavours. Cheers guys.

As idiotic and dangerous as tailgaters are, don’t put YOUR life on the line for THEIR stupidity.

Just saw what could’ve been a potentially life altering situation on the highway driving back from work that genuinely could’ve resulted in multiple deaths. It’s the classic situation of someone camping in the right lane doing a fair 5-10 under the limit and then an idiot in a Ute comes from behind flashing his high beams wanting them to move out the way. Keep in mind this stretch of road is only 2 lanes, and the camper is about a car length in front of a truck in the adjacent lane and instead of just coming to speed and moving over they decide to slow down even more and not let the dickhead Ute driver just get on his merry way. The Ute driver eventually overtakes in the emergency lane, gets in front and brake checks the fuck out of this camper who by a miracle had already anticipated this antic and slowed down once they saw the stupid Ute try and overtake illegally. Mate honestly, it is NOT worth trying to police these peanuts on the road especially putting yours and others life at risk, think of your family. I’ll probably get crucified for this but as much as the dumbass Ute driver is at fault, if you’re going to go 5-10 under in the right lane and then purposely slow down to not let someone overtake is pretty piss poor behaviour as well, I’m going to the cop shop tomorrow to make a report on both vehicles in this road rage incident, hopefully the police at least have a word with them.
