Looking to connect with like-minded content creators

Yoyoooo! M20 from the UK and really interested in cinematic vlogging, visual storytelling and more experimental, film-like approaches to online content.

I've experimented with YouTube in the past and it's something I'd love to develop into a much bigger thing long-term. I don't like the direction mainstream YouTube has taken and I'd love to explore a more artistic, expressive approach that mixes raw experiences with stylised cinematography, dynamic editing and music.

For now I'm looking to connect with like-minded creatives, filmmakers and musicians, exchange and develop on ideas. Always keen to meet people with a similar mindset and learn from others!

24fps vs 60/120fps for cinematic, immersive vlogs on YouTube?

Tryna figure out what frame rate I should shoot my vlogs in. The style I’m going for is a mix of really cinematic/awe-inspiring footage (beautiful compositions, carefully edited sequences, shots that are meant to feel emotional, music video-type vibes, etc.) along with more general/real-time footage of me talking, walking around, filming whatever is in front of me, etc.

I also want music to play a big role in the videos. The goal is for the editing, visuals, sound and music to work together to make the viewer actually feel whatever emotion I’m trying to convey, rather than just making the footage look cinematic for the sake of it/standard vlogging where nothing's actually happening.

I’ve seen a lot of different opinions online about 24fps being the “cinematic” standard vs shooting at higher frame rates like 60/120fps, and I’m wondering what would make the most sense for this kind of hybrid vlog style.

Should I shoot everything at 24fps? Everything at 60fps? 24fps for normal footage and 60/120fps selectively for cinematic/slowmo shots? Or something else entirely?

Especially interested from an editing/storytelling/immersion perspective, rather than just which one technically looks better. Appreciate any insight I could get into this

Looking for hidden gems (ANY genre, send your stuff through 👇)

Yooo hope you're well!

I'm a content creator (still in the planning/building phase) and I'm really passionate about bringing more art and feeling back into online vids. A huuuge part of that is music.

I'd love to hear what you've been making (ANY genre). Depending on the situation, I can imagine using anything (ambient and orchestral, hip-hop, electronic, indie, rock, etc). Right now I'm mainly tryna expand my musical palette, discover new artists to potentially collab with and catch a vibe from different sounds.

If you wanna share, drop an introduction of yourself, link to your music, what kind of sound/vibe you're after, EVERYTHING. The longer the better haha, I love hearing the story behind the music just as much.

Won't be properly starting these projects for a while, so I'm not promising I'll use anything, and I probably won't be able to reply to everyone, but I'll genuinely try to listen to as much as I can.

Up-and-coming/independent artists have got some really unique energy you don't get from generic copyright-free library stuff. If your music tells a story/creates a feeling or anything in between, I'm all ears.

Looking forward to meeting you guys and hearing your stuff!

I have an old channel called azvn. It's a stylised version of my name, I have memorable handles on all platforms. It was a gaming faceless channel but I really like the branding because I'm going to become a personality channel anyways. It's about 4 years old. 1k subs. Also have a tiktok at 8k followers and 100k+ likes.

My new channel, 70 subs, I started uploading daily shorts from a week ago (all around 1k views) and one long form (also 1k views in a few days). Called fourleafnova. I like it but would rather be called azvn. The content will be stuff like discord call clips, reacting to news, social media posts, might include gaming etc (not all sporadic, I'll focus on parts at a time of course) but in general it revolves around ME and my reactions, takes, etc. Hence the rebrand.

Now do I change the handles of my new accounts? Or revive the old accounts? On the one hand I get more subs and therefore social proof. On the other hand the algorithm might get confused since it isn't the same niche. I've heard both sides of the argument about the algorithm, I'm confused what to do
