Thanks to the RLAX Clan

It’s been a while since I posted here and played COD IW and looking back at the game thinking how much fun I had in multiplayer with the RLAX guys before I went to D2. Just wanted to say thanks to them for the memories and fun times we had while trash talking about each other so thank you guys.

Completely burnt out

Hey people

I’m a 29M autistic here, I’m exhausted and didn’t know where to post.

It’s 12:20ish am here and I’m just laying down in bed just thinking about how exhausted and burnt out I have been over the last few years. I’m that burnt out and drained that I’ve been withdrawing from my family (mum, step dad, younger siblings) and my gf. There’s a few other things that are going on as well like studying the last two and a half years getting certificates in IT for both personal and professional development, doing outside work commitments like volunteering and leadership positions for organisations (already chosen to step back slowly from leadership positions for a while at next financial year which will be a part of my next part). I’m slowly stopping to do extra things I normally do because I’m so dam exhausted but I’m afraid if I do stop about 50-75% of the things that I’m doing then I get sick again for a couple weeks like last time. I know that I should give my body time to recover but I don’t know how to rest anymore as I’ve been going non stop for the last few years.

Over the past couple months I’ve realised that I’m not just burnt out, I’m also depressed, mentally and emotionally exhausted (hence isolating myself from family) also I think I may have high functioning depression but not sure. I’m not suicidal or anything but I’m just too dammed exhausted.

Been working in IT for almost 3 years.

Hi all fellow IT people. I just wanted to share a quick story about myself if that’s okay?

Hi I’m a 29M whose been working in IT for almost 3 years in about 2 weeks after changing careers from retail (Australia) and just wanted to say thank you to my CIO and my manager for the past 3 years. I really do appreciate your support because I was job searching for almost 7 years not just in my home town but also in a 3-4 hour drive radius just to go from being a casual worker to full time. You guys ended my 7 year job hunt so thank you for that otherwise I be a traffic controller.

Rotaract rights to vote.

Fellow Rotarains and Rotaractors of Reddit

I know that I’m probably going to be downvoted for this but here it goes. Since joining Rotaract in 2019 straight after a RYLA camp then becoming a dual member of Rotary and Rotaract in 2021 a part of one of the two clubs in my hometown then serving my district at national level since early 2023 as a Rotaractor. One thing I don’t get about RI not allowing Rotaract members / clubs being able to vote on actual important matters like district mergers etc, like say if District A has 3 Rotaract clubs in good standing and District B has 2 Rotaract clubs in good standing then shouldn’t those clubs be considered to have a vote instead of “just having a say”. Also please note that I’ve noticed this in 3 different districts.

Seriously though if Rotary wants to continue in the future and you want Rotaractors to join Rotary then stop looking down at Rotaractors and go hey we WANT BOTH YOUR SAY AND VOTE.

Why are there not many rural doctors in small country towns

Hi all

29M here who doesn’t understand how med school placements etc work but I have a question for most doctors and nurses. Why aren’t there a a lot of people finishing up uni and wanting to practice in rural areas instead of city and coastal areas? From where I’m from it’s almost impossible to get into the regular GP when you’re sick (there’s two GP clinics which are booked out nearly all the time) and you have to go to either the local free GP (when and if they are open and available) or the other option is to drive an hour and a half to a bigger town / hospital to see the free GP there.

Seriously though why aren’t people considering practicing medicine in rural areas for a couple years at least then decide if they stay or not. Sorry if it sounds like a rant but I can’t get into the regular GP clinic I go to for about two months and the free GP clinic has been closed for almost two weeks

To my Destiny 2 clan the Filthy Fanatics.

Thanks for bringing me into your clan when my out clan dumped me just after I started playing in beyond light. Thanks for all the memories we had of the “highs” and lows especially in day one raids at 4am in the morning. Let’s raid this week like the bunch of idiots like we are.

How do my fellow men deal with very high burn out and depression??

Hey a 29M here.

Ummm how do I put this? I’ve been slowly burning out and depressed since September last year until recently it hit me quite hard. I haven’t been this burnt and depressed in 3 years from a totally different reason (job searching for 7 years). What I used to do to help cope isn’t doing anything anymore and I’m looking for ideas to help.

What I used to do:
Lay in bed for hours when not working
Eat a lot (stress eating)
Game a lot.
Sit in complete silence.

29M is both mentally and emotionally exhausted and doesn’t know how to tell his 29F gf

As the title says, I am that burnt out and depressed that I’m both mentally and emotionally exhausted from the burn out mainly and I don’t know how to tell my gf because she start either going yes I know bub, start comparing herself or just go off another tangent or subject. Any ideas?

The only people who know that I’m that burnt out and depressed are one of my best mates and his GF as the 3 of us check up on each other weekly. My manager at my job and my mum will probably know soonish.

Any ideas would be helpful

Is it worth changing to a mining company from another field?

Bit of context here.
I’m a 29M who’s working in the following
- 10 years retail
- 3 years in the IT field
- 8 years of hospitality work.

After today I am thinking about going to either the mining sector or go work on a road gang as a traffic controller (got all licenses for that). Would there be any IT jobs in the mining industry or is it all external 3rd party IT jobs?
