Hi all!

I’m seeing some confusion information about laser cutting vinyl. I have an Xtool s1 10w UV but I’ve read that you can’t (shouldn’t) cut vinyl with lasers because it releases hydrochloric acid and chlorine gas.

But Xtool has a machine called the m2 and from what I can see it also uses the 10w diode laser for vinyl cutting.

So, is it ok to cut vinyl with a laser or isn’t it?

Been working on this 25” print of the Rocinante using Gambody’s stl. I drew up and laser cut the base and stand today. A couple more details and she’ll be all done
