Sitting in my seat right now for an early 70mm IMAX showing.
Will update when done.
Update:
It’s 9:58 and credits are rolling. Outstanding. I don’t wanna ruin any details so this will be vague. Biggest surprise to me are the casting choices. There are roles that you wouldn’t expect to stick with you that really do. There are two choices in particular that floored me.
The action is timed perfect, just when you think you had a chance to catch your breath you find out you were wrong.
The score is outstanding, it’s otherworldly yet familiar. Changes from ambient to driving drums.
The grand finale doesn’t disappoint. That’s all I’m saying.
Update 12:37 AM
I’m home.
I clarified in a post about casting.
John Leguizamo absolutely shocked me. He doesn’t steal the movie or anything but I’m so used to him being the comic relief side character in movies going back forever. I mean if you look he’s been in some stinkers. If you’d asked me to cast this role I wouldn’t even have him in my top fifty and it’s better for it.
The score really impressed me. As listed earlier there are times where it’s almost odd ambient background music, and other times it’s more drum driven and the unusual instrument choices give it a unique twist. It never gets in the way and helps to drive action and sometimes adds another level to the movie. The scene with the sirens singing going almost silent was a really great choice as we are forced to take Odysseus at his word for the sound. We are hearing it the same as the ship’s crew, and we are all along for the same ride.
The finale:
John Wick looks like an elementary school gym teacher compared to this. Watching Odysseus lay waste to these free loaders was especially satisfying. Seeing an asshole character recognize Odysseus then immediately take a shot to the neck got laughter in my showing.
Other:
This thing went by fast! I honestly wasn’t a fan of Oppenheimer and it felt like it dragged on forever. This has excellent pacing and it did not feel like I spent three hours watching. The pacing is excellent and the action is spaced out enough to give you a chance to calm down in between but not so much it drags on. When action hits again you are calmed down a bit and jump started with a “holy shit” moment.
This is also a somewhat different Nolan movie. There are some moments that feel unlike anything he’s ever done. >!Horror movie elements. Jump scares and the like.!< I enjoyed his twists on the characters and thought the way the >!cyclops!< was portrayed was a really unique take on a character that has been done to death. I’ve never seen one look like this one.
Did someone forget the shingles?
Hey everyone, hopefully this is an okay subreddit to post in. I have more pictures but I might have to post them in a separate comment.
We’ve lived in this house since June, 2023 which we bought new. Last week, my neighbor noticed the area pictured as they were changing their blinds. It’s only visible from that one specific vantage point from her third floor attic.
I called a roofer (who was GREAT), and it was his opinion that NO shingles were ever laid in this spot. He cited, “no adhesive residue from ice and water shield, no staples from underlayment, no nail holes”
I’ve emailed the builder and all I’ve heard back was from the warranty department is that, “from our records, all components were complete in 2023. It is possible for shingles to blow off in severe weather”
So my question is - Can you tell from the photo whether there were ever shingles installed? Or has the OSB been exposed for the last three years?
Thanks for letting me vent!
It’s share America patches day!
I’ve had this on since flying to Vegas on Memorial Day.
I can’t even anymore…
I appreciate the attempt but lol come on, what are we even doing at this point
The longer you look the more cringe it gets.

I tried to install a bidet :(
I tried to install the bidet I’ve done it before so I didn’t think it’d be that hard but the screw is coming out of the toilet for the water is like spinning and it’s making this like cracking noise when I try to unscrew it from the screw and the nozzle for the bidet is stuck on the other end. I don’t know how to get it off. I just moved into this place and I can’t afford a plumber and I don’t know what to do. I tried using two wrenches to like grab the other screw to keep it from spinning like unscrew the bottom wrench but because of the weird angle of the toilet is at I don’t think that’s possible or it just isn’t working or I’m just not strong enough.
UPDATE: I broke it, but then I fixed it again! I messed with it until the tank intake nozzle fell off. And then I had to get a new toilet universal fill valve but then the toilet wouldn’t stop filling but it was because I turned the thingy wrong but I fixed that and I bought a new bidet and I put that in and everything works perfectly and I did what you guys said, and I replaced the braided tube. Yay for me and my clean butt. I did it! Everyone clap ☺️
FYI: VLC Media Player will play the video stream direct from your printer.
I saw a post here the other day about using inspect element in a web browser and using AI, etc to view full screen video and it gave me an idea. It’s easier than all that to view full screen. If you install VLC media player and open network stream you can stream direct from the printer. As VLC media player is available for almost everything this would also open you up for the ability to watch on your TV in the living room should you desire.
I’ve had several people who asked what kind of tacos those are.
