About Ippos signature technique (spoiler)

(For starters I'm all caught up)

I don't know why but Ippos obsession with the Dempsy Roll never made any sense to me. The moment he started using it was like he forgot he had won many fights without ever pulling off this move and for pretty long he got into the mindset that he can't win without Dempsy and imo that made 0 sense.

His coach doesn't even try to confront him about where is he getting these delusions from and I know he does scold him later but imo there was never that much direct confrontation from his Coach to Ippo about "why tf are you so obsessed about Dempsy?" Etc.

I know the moves very cool and it would be great to see the currently evolved Dempsy Roll animated but it's just Ippos obsession about it which got him retired in the first place where he was so hard stuck on making it work against possibly one of the weakest opponent for Ippo where he was easily gonna win and I know it gets justified with Ippo being emotional and wanting to show gratitude to his coach but there's 2 issues w that. This is a move that the coach didn't even teach him and he discovered it by himself + isn't it better to show the newer Dempsy on a stronger opponent rather than on an opponent where Ippo was easily gonna win anyway.

That's all I've to say.

Coming back after S6.5, any tips?

I had rhoughly 80 hours on fist before I left but I'm a mid-fist at best and mostly a thing main.

Anyway what should I know as a returning player, fist appears to be weaker now to me or am I tripping? Is he still a tank buster?

I don't know what questions to ask since the whole game looks different because I've not kept up with updates at all. Just let me know whatever I should know...

I'm coming back after Season 6. Any tips??

Ive like in total 200 hours on this thing and c3 peak on both of my accounts.

I don't even know what questions to ask since the whole game seems different now. Is the thing stronger or weaker now? Anything to watchout for now like the tenacity and stuff, still don't know what's the green health bar.

Like just wanna know what i should know as a returning player, I've not kept up with any updates at all aside from occasional reels making their way into my feed.

And also what's the position of thing counters now like pheonix, emma, hela, wolverine, etc.

EDIT: I stopped in S6.5 and not S6. Mb.

Finally caught up with the whole manga and I gotta say (spoiler)

9/10 overall

My only issue would be that it's been going on for 37 years and at this rate it will probably never get finished. Ippo retired in chapter 1208 and it's been more than 300+ chapters and he's still yet to return though years of groundwork is laid for his comeback, I can't even imagine if I had picked this manga up earlier and waiting for 300+ chapters for years week by week and he's still NOT back.

I think if author was chucking out 2 chapters a week the pacing wouldn't be an issue but at this rate it will take SO long to witness Ippo comeback and even more longer for his fights to actually start and stuff.

If time wasn't an issue what the author has done wouldn't be a problem but taking the fact that it's been 37 years since it started, author should cut down with the fillers and excess dialogues or focusing on side character battles and just give it a general idea here and there and put more focus on Ippo.

Even if the haitus were to end right now, to enjoy this manga again I would have to drop it for like 2 years to enjoy reading it, because every few chapters there's so much fillers and stuff, reading it weekly and waiting for Ippo devlopment would NOT be fun.

TLDR: Author needs to stop with the fillers, excess dialogues and focusing on side characters and commit heavily towards Ippo because at this rate this story will never even get close to ending and witnessing Ippo fight again.

No one might agree to this at all but ..

I highkey think ippo is very much like an alternative of Goku and vice versa. Im not saying Goku is a better version of Ippo or if Ippo is a better version of Goku. But basically if you wanted a character that's Goku-like I would think of Ippo and vice versa.

They sometimes even look like eachother even if its just a little frame or something.

Even the mannerism they both have are sort of on similar spectrum.

Their mindset is also somewhat on similar spectrum.

Don't wanna go in too much detail, js wanted to share and see if anyone ever thought the same. Both are equally goated.

Disappointed with King Of Puppets.

I am going to keep it short this is the 3rd boss in the game where I'm using cheap ways to beat the boss which is lowering from legendary stalker difficulty or using specter.

The first boss I used cheap ways which was using specter was against Fuoco, it was because the camera wasn't fun in this fight and also the guy was the most boring boss ive seen in a game, just really boring design and environment that he didn't feel like a boss at all so I didn't treat him as such.

The second boss I lowered to baby difficulty + specter was against BRB, not at all a fan of gang fights which is a shame since I found the moveset of the elder brorther really cool and I wouldn't have minded if the fight was pure 1 by 1 and not them interfering in between.

Now I'm at King Of Puppets, the third boss I am disappointed with because Romeo has such a cool moveset and I would really like to fight that guy fairly but by the time I get to this guy almost all of my pulse charges are gone and I'm now fighting an entirely new boss with a completely new moveset. This is such a shame because so far he has the coolest moveset I've seen out of all the bosses but it's basically fighting an entirely new boss back to back which is so stupid, like he even starts with full health and not like half.

I hope there's not another boss later with some bs like this that I have to use cheap ways to win again.

EDIT: The replies yet again show why souls community is my least favourite.

One thing I'm still confused about ...

Since normal apostles can roam around in the physical world easily but they can't go back into the astral realm without a behelith.

Why can't Godhands also not just come into the physical realm without needing to do whatever Griffith had to do in order to manifest into the physical realm. (It anyone could explain how was Griffith born into the physical realm and why it made sense then it would be great because I've forgotten some of it).

All I'm saying for now is that Godhands are also just apostles but just the strongest of them bunch, so can they come into the physical realm completely as themselves or why can't they not?

And also does the current Griffith in the physical realm need a behelith to open in order to go back to the astral realm??

What to lvl up?

I prefer Strength build and wielding big ahh weapons. Currently stuck at scrapped watchman or wtv that dudes name is, defeated a false donkey before him.

I get him down to like 40% of his health and then I lowk get slimed.

Ive played ER & Sekiro before but I don't know fully how termologies work in this game.

Anyway what should I level?

Thats all.

Something funny about chained ogre.

In my first run, he took me 2 tries and I fought him with only katana and no prosthetics and didn't even use a stealth deathblow on him.

Now on the 2nd run after I beat sword saint isshin in my first run. This f*cking ogre took me 20+ tries and I only won cuz I had to use the flame prosthetic and had to use a stealth deathblow.

Ive genuinely no idea how did he seem so easy in my first run. I basically just dodged all of his attacks that time but in the 2nd run I almost quit the game for good this boss had me pissed so bad.

Owl Ashina, HELP!

This is the first boss that I had to shut the game down on because I got so tired of fighting this guy after endless tries. Usually I would keep playing until I beat the boss but this guy has pissed me off.

I got close to killing him 2 times but he recovered his posture and at that time I wasn't aware I can use shurikens to make him stop doing that because he sprays poison around himself so that you can't really interfere when he starts posture recovery. Anyway the last time I got close to killing him was like 20 tries ago, so I don't think that's happening anytime soon now.

Anyway what I want to know right now is that I have 6 Attack Power, I have not fought Duo Apes yet and I don't even know where they are. But I will probably go for them now for any attack power boosts I can get. But I've heard there is also another Owl fight at Hirata but I don't know how to access that if it's true and no idea if he gives a memory or not.

Ive currently 5 full prayer necklaces, how many more necklaces can I get upto fighting owl? Do headless and schichiman drop prayer beads? Cuz I would finally have a reason to fight those guys now.

What's the best combat art against owl and what's the best prosthetic against owl?

I think that's all I want to know.

Tips for those struggling against the guardian ape. This is not a guide for those looking to cheese this guy. It's for a more of "traditional" way of fighting it.

It took me like 50 tries to beat this guy and I am going to give you some tips that I don't think I saw anywhere else.

Let's go with how WELL you can be prepared up to this guy. So AFAIK you can get about 9 healing bottles and you can get up to 6 attack power (memories and a 3rd resurrection.

Just make sure you defeat all the bosses you can before fighting this ape you can avoid headless and schichiman or wtv his name is and the other drunkard in fog village.

About prosthetics I am going to say completely from MY POV here. The only one you definitely need is the umbrella one. Yes having spears, firecrackers or the flamethrower can help you but I am here to tell you that you don't need them. Of course you can beat him without an umbrella too but you will struggle way more without an umbrella as compared to not using a spear or firecrackers. Plus you have a limited amount of spirit emblems in the fight so better save them for umbrella.

Ok so lets get into the moves of this guardian ape

(1st phase)

- 50% of this boss's difficulty comes from his grab attacks alone. He has 3 types of grab attacks. The simple sweep grab attack, the jump slam grab attack and the last one is what I call the HUG.

For the simple sweep one, you just have to learn how to time the jump. Thats all you can do, if you can time the sweep jump this phase becomes 20% easier. Don't run away or anything just time the jump with where you are. You can get some good hits in after you time the jump well. Be close to him.

For the jump slam grab attack, just use the umbrella, it will completely negate it. For what I have seen this is his least used grab attack and I don't know what triggers it either.

For the HUG. This attack for what I have seen ONLY happens once you hard stagger him and he gets knocked back hard and rolls back and then starts running at you. So just remember this, whenever you're done hard staggering him and he gets launched back, DO NOT GET GREEDY and just prepare to run away from him as far as possible because he will go for the HUG grab. This is his most dangerous grab, theres NOTHING you can do if you're in his grab range. You must run away once you hard stagger him when he falls back because the HUG will come for you. You most likely die in a single shot unless your health is completely full or something.

- The erratic hand movement attacks. Here the majority of how to deflect them you will have to learn from trial & error BUUUT where I can help you is this: whenever he is done with his irratic hand movements he will end up sitting (probably his back facing you). Now here YOU MUST NOT GET GREEDY and that's because when he sits he can either continue to sit for a while and you can get a decent hits in BUT he can also choose to immediately get up and do SUPER IRRATIC HAND MOVEMENTS which will PULVERIZE YOU if they LAND. So what I am saying is when he is done with his initial irratic hand attacks and ends up sitting, I want you to give it like 1 second to see if he will keep sitting or go into super irratic hand movements, if he keeps sitting then immediately start attacking him. This is the safest way to deal with him, if you choose to gamble here you can mess up your whole run, you just have to sacrifice a few hits in order to progress safely with him here.

- The fart & the poop attack. Not much to say here, for the fart one you just have to know from experience when it can come but for the poop one, I am going to be honest if you're way too far from him when he does that you're cooked, you can deflect it but then the poison will spread on you and dodging it is hard so my only advice is don't end up being far from him when he does that. If you're like medium distance or close when he throws poop just run towards him.

This is basically all the major advice I can give for 1st phase, few things like when he throws a tantrum on the ground just stay away from him for 1.5 seconds not much to say here. I will say be PATIENTLY AGGRESSIVE towards this guy and stick close to him, remember PATIENTLY AGGRESSIVE.

(2nd phase)

This phase is easier than 1st phase and this is where the umbrella comes in clutch.

Scream attack: If you haven't noticed whenever he goes for the scream he will reattach his head to do that, but anyway if you've umbrella you don't need to worry about his scream at all, just stay where you are and use the umbrella it will completely negate it. Once he's done you can get a few hits in quickly. This is why it's better than running away from him when he's screaming.

Sweep attack: There's not much to say here, just remember that if he isn't jumping and a red symbol appears it's either a sweep or a scream. Identity which is which and jump or use umbrella accordingly. In both situations you have to be very close to him to benefit after he's done using these attacks by getting your hits in.

Sword movements: ok here he can either do a really simple combo or do a super irratic sword combo, imo my only advice here is if you can end up identifying hes about to do the erratic one and you think you can run away then RUN AWAY rather than gambling on deflecting it because that one you can easily mess up and if he gets his hits in, depending on your situation you will mess your whole run up.

Jump attack: just run and dodge.

Thats all really for 2nd phase, stick close as hell to him, save your spirit emblems for the umbrella because you will need them in 2nd phase a lot.

I hope it this helps even if its just a little. There is a pattern to what he does but if I'm going to be honest he does have a decent amount of unpredictability to him, you just have to keep trying.

Genichiro Ashina Castle where do you guys place him?

This boss took me so many tries to defeat I don't even know, but the boss was very fun. Anyway I've not fought any other main boss after this guy yet. So how does this guy compare to the other bosses that are after him.

Atleast for me Genichiro is an S tier boss because the fight was very fun and an absolute cinema. This boss was harder than any other ER boss ive fought (with PCR, Malenia & Bayle being the exceptions).

My base game elden ring boss tier list.

NOTE: DTS is also S tier for me (there was no image of him in the website)

S: These are the bosses I completely enjoyed fighting and mostly because they were hyper aggressive and not much delayed attacks which is how I prefer fights, dodging their attacks were super fun. Radagon isn't really hyper aggressive but the fight is chill and fun.

A: All of the bosses in A tier would be S tier if they just didn't have atleast 1 thing I didn't like about them or the location making them annoying. For example runebear would be fun to fight if I found him in a more open space and a little less health, Godricks tornado throwing attack is something I can't get the timing right of which is why he is A, Margit would be S if the location was a lot more bigger where we fight him, Crucible Knight would be S if he had a little less poise, etc.

B: These are bosses that aren't bad but had many annoying things or were just boring. Malenia is due to self heal, hyper armor & waterfowl dance. Erdtree is a fun boss to fight but a lot of times he is placed in an obnoxious location making the fight stupid as hell and I wish they replaced his splash attack with something else and he would automatically become A, Loretta is just a boring boss, Godfrey could've better attacks instead of being a ground smash simulator it was disappointing, etc.

C: These are bosses either I have skill issue against or just wipe the smirk off your face. Ekzykes is because of how OP his rotten breath is and same is with Borealis having insane frostbite damage and not to mention the fog sometimes causes bs moments, Full-Grown Star Beast this guy pmo didn't enjoy fighting him at all, Godskin Duo/Crystallians/O'Niell any boss that involves fighting more than 1 enemy is automatically C for me, etc.

GARBAGE: These are bosses that have not a single thing I liked which are fighting giant sized enemies, enemies that require too much ground to cover, aren't easy to hit & enemies that spam too much. All of these bosses are just terrible and not fun for me.

Not Memorable: As the name says, they're just there, not much to say about them or they are just lesser versions of something I already mentioned so they're meh.

Really dislike the direction author has gone with rin.

I don't even like Rin but back then when he was introduced he was presented to be overwhelmingly superior to anyone else in the blue lock. That stayed more or less consistent for a few matches but the author has reduced this guy to isagi dependent when the dynamic was completely opposite.

Isagi was more of team dependent and rin could make solo plays on his own but the recent matches and specially this one theyve made rin a total fraud, and the only highlight of him is try to make a meaningless attempt to make the solo goal of isagi into a "double-goal" really? If the goal doesn't happen it would be clearly cuz rin messed it up. Even if it did happen there's no way to prove if rin helped or didn't, even if they could prove it, it's still such a shallow highlight of this guy compared to how he was introduced in the beginning.

The author has turned him into such a garbage character with nothing going with him but just waiting for isagi to make plays.

I am not saying I expect evey character to work in every match, but the way rin is being handled is just bad writing.
