v0.25.3-beta

Battle orders have now a rank

Orders were a flat list where nobody could tell which battle actually mattered. Your country and your military unit now number their orders, and everyone sees that number.

  • Every order gets a number: #1 is the battle your government (or your commanders) wants fought first, #2 next, and so on. Country orders and MU orders are numbered separately, so both lists start at 1.
  • Managers reorder by dragging: governments with the set orders permission and MU owners/commanders can drag the rows and save the whole new order in one click. The numbering is display only, it does not change the damage bonus or the paper cost, those still come from the priority level.
  • New Orders page: a new page listing every order that applies to you, your country's and your unit's, reachable from a button in the active-orders bar at the bottom of the screen. The same list is now on your government page and on your MU page.
  • The battle list follows the ranking: in the Orders section of the battle list, battles come out in the order your country/MU ranked them instead of oldest first.
  • The number is shown everywhere an order appears: battle tags, order lists, and the order form.
  • Placing a new order in the ranking: when writing an order you can now choose where it lands, instead of always going to the bottom.
  • Editing an existing order is now offered directly in the battle's order menu (Edit country order / Edit MU order). Before, the entry was greyed out once an order existed, and trying to set one when your order was on the other side simply failed.
  • Removing an order, or a battle ending, no longer leaves a hole in the numbering (1, 2, 4). The list is renumbered automatically.
  • A list holds up to 99 ranked orders.

New sign-up screen

The home page you land on when logged out has been rebuilt.

  • Pick your country before signing up: the country selector is on the landing screen, prefilled from your location, and the country's welcome article is shown right there.
  • The country you pick is the one your account is created with. You are also put into your country's chat from the very start, instead of only after finishing the welcome modal.

Article editor: images and colors

https://preview.redd.it/arcjclt3z7kh1.png?width=540&format=png&auto=webp&s=0bc75eeebfc2c38ebdce61f9a02b8401f95734b4

  • Paste or drag an image straight into an article. It uploads on the spot and appears where you dropped it, with a preview while it uploads. Up to 10MB, oversized images are downscaled, and animated GIFs stay animated.
  • Text color picker in the toolbar, with the full game palette and a Default color entry to clear it.
  • Article categories got icons and colors instead of all being grey tags, and there is a new Giveaway category.

Military rank badge

  • The military rank panel is replaced by a circular rank badge showing your progress toward the next rank, with the rank name and the damage needed on hover.
  • It now appears next to your avatar in the equipment bar, in the user tooltip and on the profile page. The old panel is gone from the battle page, where it was just taking space.

Other changes

  • Fixed: paginated lists could return empty pages. Loading more on a list sorted by an optional field (companies moved to top, auctions, and others) could return nothing at all and hide the rest of the list, or skip and repeat rows. The pagination was rewritten.
  • The loot summary on a battle page is restyled with your own color and given more room.

UPDATE - v0.25-2-beta

Welcome to the Patch Notes Megathread

Use this thread for any discussion related to the new 0.25-2-beta Update

Prestige

Once you hit the level cap, your account is no longer "finished". You can now prestige: start a new climb and keep a permanent bonus for it.

  • Prestige at level 50: you lose a chunk of XP (you land back around level 25, higher if you had banked XP past the cap), and in exchange you get a permanent XP bonus, a prestige point, a free full skill respec and a prestige badge.
  • Permanent XP bonus: +50% XP on your first prestige, then +10% more per extra prestige level (+60%, +70%...).
  • The XP bonus is disabled once you are back at level 50: at the cap you can only bank surplus XP, so boosting it would reward camping on the cap instead of prestiging again. It comes back the moment you prestige and your level drops.
  • Prestige points: spend them on a single skill to push it beyond its normal maximum, one bonus level per point. Stacking points on the same skill costs more and more (1, then 2, then 4, then 8...).
  • Resetting your skills refunds every prestige point you had assigned, so you can move them around.
  • Your lifetime XP is now tracked separately from your current level, so prestiging never erases what you have earned overall.

If your account is already level 50

You have been capped with nowhere to put your XP, so nothing of what you banked is thrown away.

  • All the XP you earned past the cap is kept. Prestige removes a fixed 65,000 XP from your total, it does not reset you to zero. Level 50 is reached at 86,600 XP, so an account sitting exactly on the cap lands at level 25, while an account that kept playing far past it lands much higher (around level 49 with 150,000 XP banked).
  • Retroactive XP bonus: you earned all that surplus XP without the prestige bonus, simply because prestige did not exist yet. We are paying it back: +50% of every XP point you banked above 86,600, credited to both your current XP and your lifetime XP. It is granted once, and inactive accounts get it too.
  • The catch-up is a one-time thing for that waiting period. Once you have prestiged, the bonus simply applies live to the XP you earn.
  • Your skills are fully respecced for free when you prestige, so the points you had invested are not lost, you just place them again.

Daily rewards: streak calendar & come-back gifts

The flat daily reward is replaced by a 7-day calendar with a streak, and returning players are now welcomed back with a gift.

  • Daily calendar: rewards grow day after day (money and cases going up each day) and day 7 is the jackpot: 35 money, 10 gems and 3 cases. After day 7 the calendar loops, and your streak keeps counting.
  • Streak line: a progress bar shows where you are in the week, your current streak and your best streak.
  • Claim popup: the daily reward now opens by itself when you log in, and tells you how many players have already claimed today (and where you rank among them).
  • Come-back rewards: if you were away for a while, a reward is waiting when you log back in. 3+ days away gives 150 XP, 50 money and 2 cases, 7+ days gives 400 XP, 150 money and 3 cases, 30+ days gives 800 XP, 400 money and 5 cases. One come-back reward every 14 days maximum.

Announcements for countries and military units

Government announcements are no longer a government-only, read-once message. Military units can publish their own, and announcements are now something you can react to.

  • MU announcements: the owner and the commanders can publish an announcement to the members, with the same rules as a government one (2 per hour, active for 24h, then archived).
  • Likes and comments: announcements can now be upvoted and commented, on top of the existing view count.
  • History: past announcements are kept and browsable instead of disappearing once expired.
  • Announcements are still readable only by the audience they target (citizens of the country, members of the unit), and are now capped at 1000 characters.

GIFs in chat and articles

  • GIF picker (Supporter Plan): a new GIF button in the chat composer and in the article editor, with trending, search, and a favorites tab to save the GIFs you use the most.
  • GIFs are rendered inline in messages and articles, several of them side by side when a message contains more than one, and clicking one opens it full size.
  • The chat no longer jumps while a GIF loads: the space it will take is reserved before it arrives.
  • New Small GIFs option in the layout options if you prefer a more compact chat, and the conversation list shows a small tag instead of playing the GIF in the preview.

BOT'aggedon?

Last night, when i was tucking in i saw a couple of channels i follow had an unusually high viewer count, and this morning, while logging in to check who's streaming what, ALOT of the channels i follow and usually check out seem to be having up to under 1/3rd of their usual viewership at this time.

Is anyone else noticing this?

Did BOT'aggedon just happen?

Queen Matriarch 1v6+ is peak comedy right now

I have to say, now that we don't have to perform PSBMM astrology just to get mixed lobbies, Queen Matriarch has become absolute cinema.

Rolling in solo and finding half the lobby surgically attached to each other's prison pockets is some of the funniest gameplay ARC has to offer. Big groups, big confidence, big loot bags, and somehow even bigger salt when one gremlin with bad intentions starts picking at the edges.

And honestly, that's the beautiful part.

The "friendly" crowd figured something out that a lot of raider-hunters still pretend not to see: loot gets a lot more plentiful when people stop trying to play lone wolf capitalism and start moving like a small criminal enterprise.

So now we've got these stacked little care caravans walking around topside, holding hands, sharing bags, doing objectives, pulling loot, covering each other, and accidentally creating the best hunting grounds in the game.

The only thing I fear is that the predators eventually wise up too.

Because if the people out there actively hunting other raiders all figure out at the same time that teaming up works just as well for violence as it does for friendship, Queen Matriarch is going to become a full-blown salt refinery.

And I, for one, welcome the incoming river.

Bring your squad.

Bring your loot.

Bring your confidence.

I'll bring the bad decisions.

Community Statement & Timeline

Over the last few years, many people have joined this subreddit without really knowing how it came to exist, what its goals are, or why it continues to operate independently from the official WarEra moderation structure.

We feel it is time to properly explain that.

A Personal Note from u/Gigameister

I played WarEra extensively in the past. I enjoyed the game, the politics, the drama, the rivalries, and the community interactions that naturally form around sandbox games.

Eventually, I stepped away from actively playing when the in-game environment and community became more toxic than enjoyable for me personally.

That said, I still genuinely like the concept of WarEra and continue following the game through this subreddit. It keeps me informed, entertained, and connected to the evolution of the project without requiring direct involvement in the in-game political landscape.

Ironically, not actively playing the game anymore is also one of the reasons I believe I can remain fair when it comes to moderation here.

The Timeline of r/warera

While I was still actively involved in the game and known within the community, I approached members of the WarEra administration team with a simple idea:

WarEra needed a proper Reddit presence if it wanted to grow.

At the time, the existing r/warera subreddit and its moderation structure were not representing the game particularly well, and I believed the platform had much more potential.

That suggestion was not well received by most people involved at the time.

The only meaningful support ever provided by the WarEra administration side came from ArturoJ, who supplied a few graphics and assets for the subreddit. Some of those are still being used today.

Beyond that, the work was entirely community-driven.

Over the following months, the current moderation team invested significant time and effort into rebuilding the subreddit from the ground up:

  • Restructuring moderation
  • Cleaning up the subreddit
  • Rebranding it
  • Organizing content
  • Establishing rules and standards
  • Turning it into a functional and respectable community hub

After roughly six months of consistent work, the moderation team had finally stabilized and reshaped the subreddit into what it is today.

At that point, despite all the work invested, the team approached the WarEra administration and offered to hand over the subreddit entirely, no questions asked.

That offer was declined.

Since then, the subreddit has remained independent and community-operated.

Where Things Stand Today

Since that period, r/warera has continued growing organically across every meaningful metric.

The moderation team has consistently maintained an intentionally neutral posture regarding in-game politics, conflicts, and personal disputes.

Whenever unusual situations, concerns, or potentially problematic behavior surfaced, those concerns were communicated to the official administration side. Historically, those reports were largely ignored or downplayed.

Because of this, we strongly believe that keeping the subreddit independent remains the healthiest path for the community.

Unlike in-game systems or official communication channels, this subreddit exists as a moderated but open place for discussion, criticism, memes, drama, feedback, debate, and community interaction.

Freedom of speech does not mean lack of moderation.

It means moderation without political allegiance.

On Neutrality

I have always believed that anyone moderating a community platform tied to a competitive sandbox game should ideally not be actively involved in the game’s political ecosystem.

Moderators should not have a factional interest, personal power position, or “cat in the race.”

I clearly do not.

Like anyone who has spent time in WarEra, I have personal opinions, grievances, and memorable interactions with certain players or groups.

Those opinions have not influenced moderation decisions and will continue not to influence moderation decisions.

The Future of r/warera

For the foreseeable future, the subreddit will remain:

  • Unofficial
  • Community-operated
  • Moderated
  • Independent
  • Focused on fair discourse

We will continue maintaining and improving it to the best of our ability.

If members of the community are interested in helping with those goals, feel free to contact the moderation team through modmail.

We genuinely hope WarEra.io finds the success the project deserves.

And regardless of what happens in-game, r/warera will continue to stand as an independent and fair community platform for WarEra players and followers alike.
