I have AppleCare One covering my iPhone, MacBook, and Apple Watch, so I'd like to keep my primary Apple Account in the U.S.
Occasionally, though, I need to download an app that's only available in another country's App Store (not necessarily Indonesia—I'm asking about the general situation).
I've read that changing the Apple Account/App Store country may cancel AppleCare One and issue a prorated refund, so I'd rather avoid experimenting if that's true.
For those who have actually dealt with this:
I'd especially appreciate replies from people who have firsthand experience with AppleCare One.
Hi everyone,
I need some advice specifically regarding how Bank of America (BofA) handles compliance and address updates for long-term expats.
My Background: I am a non-US citizen and a US university alumnus. I hold a valid US SSN, an active BofA checking/savings setup, and a couple of BofA credit cards. I have already been living back home in Southeast Asia for the last 1.5 years, and my plan is to remain here indefinitely long-term. Up until now, I have simply left my old US residential address on file.
My Questions:
I want to avoid triggering automated compliance flags or sudden account freezes while entirely overseas, as trying to resolve a locked BofA account or verifying identity from abroad is an absolute nightmare.
I would love to hear from any international alumni or expats who have successfully maintained their Bank of America accounts long-term from abroad. What is the safest way to handle this?
Thanks!
Hey everyone,
I wanted to gauge the real-world risk of an unexpected account freeze or restriction on the Apple Card, but specifically the Apple Savings account, when used while living long-term internationally.
I’m a US university alumnus currently living in Southeast Asia (anchored in one country). I’ve been using my Apple Card out here consistently for about a year and a half now with absolutely zero issues. My usage is mostly recurring transactions like monthly AppleCare+ and iCloud+, along with local point-of-sale transactions here and there.
My operational setup is very clean:
I see quite a few horror stories on Reddit about digital nomads getting their accounts locked or restricted out of nowhere with people saying Goldman Sachs banned them for spending entirely overseas. However, my experience has been completely smooth for 18 months straight.
For those who have lived abroad or dual-nested long-term (1+ years in a single foreign country) while actively keeping a balance in Apple Savings:
Would love to hear your real-world experiences, especially if you've been managing an Apple Savings balance for multiple years outside the US. Thanks!
