spire is working on my street and wants to run a new tie in line to my home. they are proposing cutting into the side of my building to add new external meter and bollards* into my driveway, which is bordered on either side by my home and my neighbors - there is not a tremendous amount of clearance to begin with. anyone else deal with this or have recs of what to do? i asked to be contacted and to approve any work before working on my property and dont love this idea.

ive found quite a few primo campsites along a few of the lakes, but many of them dictate no cars in camping spots and no camping in parking lots. i will be car camping with a hatchback tent and have a dream of waking up lakeside. ill be there during the weekdays so hopefully ill have good luck with some more frequented spots. ideally looking for a spot on the keweenaw peninsula, anywhere near hiawatha forest, but any recs welcome!!

ill be camping in a few places through the UP from herbster to detroit for 4 nights in the first week of september. i will be car camping with a tent that converts my hatchback into a tent (pretty sick) - how concerned should i be about bears? i dont usually have to store my food in any particular way when im camping and want to make sure i dont accidentally set myself up to have a black bear comin for my beef jerky in the middle of the night. i plan on really only making coffee and having snacks or small meals at my campsites (not cooking full meals with lots of food/smells etc) - any precautions i should take? do i need a bear box? thanks a mill

it’s visually satisfying and fun to see, but it makes my heart sink every time i see a post with 10 ai photos. this is probably one of the most fun applications of hypothetical ai generated stuff and it’s so fun to dream and plan, but man, it’s too much anymore. have fun yall but please, maybe dabble in some photoshop or pay someone to make a few mockups for you if it’s a serious project. good luck and godspeed

eta, yeah i get no one wants to learn a new skill, but there are tons of people who have photoshop skills who can make mock ups of ideas you have for 10-50 bucks. this is not a radical concept. just because you can’t see the resources being used when you use ai doesn’t mean it’s not happening, and just because its convenient doesn’t mean i have to be ok with it 🤷‍♀️

in a few weeks i will be signing some documents; the location of this signing can be determined by me. its a pretty big deal, closing on a project we have worked on for 1.5 years. i never have time to go to lunch, let alone a fancy lunch spot, and am wondering where might fit the bill. ideally somewhere where we could sign papers at our table, and then dine, meaning the service/being careful of the docs is important. any recs for a delicious steak dinner that evening also welcome

long time stoner and weed lover. i have quit for periods of time before, taking a break is good. im breaking now and maybe for good, but oh my god my sleep is awful. every night i get in bed and cant fall asleep no matter what. i dream more when im not smoking and as of now i dont even get to do that. any insight or tips to help this please let me know, i value sleep highly and its driving me nuts. i’m a little past two weeks at this point

i have headaches and migraines occasionally, but this week i’ve had a few that i can’t shake. all the headache triggers are accounted for - caffeine sugar sleep etc. has anyone else been experiencing this? i am wondering if it’s from some kind of pressure situation with the weather that i don’t understand. any ideas welcome
