Help finding how to get a certified record from Canada for a 1776 Nova Scotia Birth

Hi All,

I’m researching Canadian Citizenship for a friend, and I was able to find an anchor ancestor for them, Anna Merchant (Dodge) who was born on July 27, 1776 in Horton, Nova Scotia, Canada. She married Eusebius Dodge on February 2, 1794 in Lyme, Connecticut, USA.

I have found an except from Dodge Genealogy: Descendants of Tristiam Dodge by Woodward, Theron Royal, 1848-, Woodward, Estelle Clark, 1864-

I am wondering if anyone has any strategies or is able to find a baptismal record for Anna to support a C-3 application, or any ideas about how to get a Canadian document stating she was born there?

Appreciate everyone’s hard work in this community!

How does DNExpress Not Require Consulate Visits?

Hi, I’m curious how DNExpress does their process without having you ever have to step foot in a consulate/embassy? Is this really true? Or is it only for part of the process but at the end you still need to show up in person at a consulate/embassy to submit everything?

A friends great grandparents were both born in Greece, lived there for awhile, then came to the United States. They had his grandmother in wedlock, and then they naturalized after she was born while she was still a minor. Grandmother was born in 1932, Great Grandfather naturalized in 1936, and Great Grandmother naturalized in 1943.

My question is did his grandmother get stripped of Greek citizenship by this even though she herself never naturalized? I’m trying to see if the chain is still intact for a citizenship by descent application for him.
