Macbook Neo

Note: I am not a professional tech person. I don't code nor do I play PC games. I just edit videos and photos and do normal office stuff.

Got the Macbook Neo 512gb for a few days now from pre-ordering (IK nagkakaubusan na stocks ngayon) and here's a super short review:

Pros

  • Lightweight. Almost same weight as the Air.
  • Cute ang kulay (I got the indigo).
  • Can run Photoshop and Premiere/Da Vinci well. Di naman sya sumasabog pag nagrerender ako ng 4k but that's the highest reso that I render when editing videos. Sometimes I even just render 1080p.
  • Can run multiple tasks at the same time without lagging.

  • Might slow down a bit when multi-tasking heavy apps. Natry ko na open yung browser and some messaging apps while video editing and ok pa naman sya. Hindi ko pa lang nasusubukan na pagsabayin yung photo editing, Canva, at 4k video rendering. This might be the tradeoff of the unit having only 8 GB RAM compared to the Air na may 16GB.
It still does the gestures tho so ok lang.

Overall, I would reco this laptop for casual, office workers/students na for browsing, writing, and Canva ang gamit. Ok din sya for casual video and photo editing, but I would reco the Air or Pro kung professional hardcore editing or gaming na ang drama nyo. For me, sulit na sya sa price point niya considering that you're getting the MacOS experience for almost half the price of the cheapest M5 Air.

EDIT: Macbook Air M1 ang laptop ko before the Neo and almost the same performance sila based on my personal experience.

Being a "difficult" student made me a good teacher

Back in grade and high school, I was THAT difficult student: maingay, maligalig, sometimes would get into trouble. A lot of teachers would hate me, and understandably so. But I remember that I would also do well academically especially on subjects and tasks that I am really into. I know that when I don't like the topic or task, I would not do well with it.

Because my grades would flip flop, being in the "star section" was a nightmare for me. Ang toxic ng mga classmates at teachers ko all because we were being pit against each other to see who will get into the top of the rankings. I didn't give a shit so I dropped to the last places almost every grading period.

I also noticed the some teachers visibly give more time and attention to the smarter students than to some of us that were mid or low in the rankings. I will always remember how one teacher said that she doubts that I will successfully finish college with my bad grades and habits. Later, in early adulthood, I would get diagnosed with ADHD.

Fast forward 10 years later, I'm now a college professor teaching in one of the top schools in the country with a master's degree from one of the top universities in the Philippines. I am now the one encountering "difficult" students: rowdy, noisy, not paying attention during classes.

But I decided I would not do to them the same things my previous teachers did to me.

I gently engaged with them during discussions by calling them out respectfully. I would ask them to talk to me after class privately to discuss how they can improve their grades and pass my class. I would take the time to listen why some are coming in late, not attending my class, or are having difficulty passing my exams.

At the end of the sem, I would get good feedback from them. Students with failing grades during midterms would bounce back and pass my class. Listening to "difficult" students works.

I know I'm far from perfect and still has a lot to learn in teaching but I see how empathy and respect help not just the students but also me in guiding and connecting with them. I hope this helps with teachers and even parents on this subreddit. "Difficult" kids are difficult to manage and guide but please, never give up on them. They might turn out to be good people if someone would just listen to them.

Guy who infected me blocked me

Storytime: I hooked up with this guy and got his contact kasi he said he wanted to do the deed again next time, so I gave it to him. Fast forward a week later, I'm having symptoms consistent with an STI. So naturally, I messaged him agad to inform him that I most likely got it from him since siya lang naman ang most recent hookup ko. The one before him was at least 3 weeks before our meeting.

This guy is a doctor so I expected him to talk to me and maybe even help me access treatment. Lo and behold, after I saw him read my message, he blocked me. Just like that. No acknowledging, no apology, not even him getting defensive over it na baka hindi ko sa kanya nakuha. Nothing.

I know I am responsible and accountable over my health. I already got tested and got treated for it and in the process of getting cleared from infection. I also know I might get slutshamed here or sabihan ng FAFO but I just wanna say lang rin na please take accountability for your sexual partner's health. When someone says that they got an STI from you or might have passed it on to you, talk to them like an effing human being. Be an adult.

EDIT: thanks mga teh for your comments and messages. Tbh ang depressing hindi yung magkaroon ng sakit dahil treatable naman sya pero yung pangiitsapwera nung nagbigay sakin nito. It feels humiliating and dehumanizing so thanks for not judging me. Sana masarap ulam niyo <3

So I went to this medj bagong bukas na establishment in Metro Manila just to try it dahil maganda ang facilities sa photos online.

So the usual, banlaw, massage, then relax bago pumunta sa wet area. Little did I know meron pala silang "show" so sa loob ng communal shower, there was this guy who was showering sa well-lit area while people are watching. He was looking at me lustfully so I gave in.

I removed my towel kahit na super kinakabahan ako dahil ang daming nakatingin samin and joined him in showering, and next thing I know we were doing mouth stuff while people gathered and watched! Idk pero that felt so hot so he asked if I wanted to fuck him and I said yes kung game sya. And I did! The guys were even 'coaching' us which made it extra spicy.

We did not finish pero damn, the exhibitionist in me was UNLOCKED. Some guys there even said na ako na lang raw magshow sa ibang araw since magaling naman daw ako haha.

To the students here, welcome to the third term. Just a piece of advice: please be mindful of your attendance. Monitoring your absences and lates is your responsibility as much as it is your prof's.

(Unfortunately) every end of term na lang or midterm consultation, I get complaints from students na FDA saying they're surprised na FDA na sila. Not all profs are strict with attendance but it's best to assume that all are. After all, coming to class is the bare minimum expected of all students.

Good luck on this sem and aral mabuti!
