Wicked awesome early gear drops

Wicked awesome early gear drops

HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES
(hopefully some of you get this movie reference lmao)

So, im starting a new playthrough. Gonna go for the "They'll Tell Stories About Us" achievement (Dont die through out your playthrough. You can after you finish the faction questline but you need to finish a faction questline without dying) and re-do the blue chamber faction quest-line since its the easiest one to do for that achievement.

Then when i do my legacy character ima go for "Master Of Aurai" achievement (complete all three main factions) since the last faction questline i need to finish is the Heroic Kingdom faction (besides the DLC ones but you just need to do the three main game ones in order to unlock the achievement)

Hopefully this start is a sign of things to come :)

Wish me luck, folks :D

IGN giving TG:FoA a 6 is egregious. (Not as if we don't know how bad IGN is now-days)

I feel like a lot of reviewers nowadays get way too stuck on the technical side of games instead of actually judging the game for what it is.

Like with Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon, yeah it’s a bit janky here and there. Not even close to the level of old Piranha Bytes stuff like Gothic, Risen, or Elex (which I honestly think are great despite their rough edges). But even small issues like that seem to immediately drag the score down before the review even really gets going. It already feels like they’ve decided “this can’t be higher than a 7.5, maybe an 8 if we’re feeling generous” before fully digging into everything else.

Then when they do get into gameplay, it sometimes feels like they struggle to separate personal taste from an actual review. It’s not just “does this work for the audience this game is aimed at”, it comes off more like “I personally don’t like this, so it’s a flaw.” And that’s where it loses me.

A game being made in Unity or not having a massive AAA team behind it shouldn’t automatically count against it either. Some of the best RPGs out there came from smaller or AA teams that clearly cared more about depth and systems than polish. Stuff like Elex, Risen, and even games like Colony Ship prove that.

It just feels like mainstream reviews these days are written more for the reviewer’s personal taste than for the actual audience of the game. And honestly, I don’t even think a lot of people are relying on IGN for opinions anymore the way they used to. Hard to see that changing if the approach stays the same.

Encased. A CRPG inspired by games like Fallout 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R

Planning on replaying this since i haven't played it since it launched out of Early Access a few years back. Hands down, one of my favorite, modern CRPG ive played in a while. I remember people stating how the last act isn't as good as the first two but i think its because those first two act were actually incredible.

I know this game has gone under a lot of peoples Rader and i just wanted to spread some attention to an incredible CRPG (imo anyways)

It even has voice acting (Just as much as Pillers Deadfire had so theirs points where theirs no voice acting) and voice acting thats actually really good. Like 6 different classes but instead of classes you can out into a work assignment. So instead of picking D&D like classes, You're choosing your job description.

Again, i highly suggest giving this game a try,

One of of the many epic moments in Tainted Grail Fall Of Avalon

Cant suggest enough for other to give this game a try. especially if youre a fan of the older Elder Scrolls series, When that series actually wrote intriguing side quests.

My throughs on Taints Grail Fall of Avalon | TLDR : Incredible writing with an Incredible plot. Must play for fans of Morrowind's tone and Skyrim gameplay.

A dark and brutally immersive RPG that genuinely feels like an old school adventure again, pulling you back into that era where exploration, danger, and discovery actually mattered more than convenience or modern design trends.

The combat honestly feels way better than I expected. It feels very similar to Skyrim in terms of progression and character building. You level skills through use, and there’s a lot of freedom in how you want to play. You can go full heavy armor melee brute, stealth archer, pure mage, alchemy-focused build, or even mix things together into some weird hybrid setup. I started as a Two handed build and slowly turned into a partial necromancer summoning battlemages or skeletons or others beats while chugging potions mid fight. For what this game is trying to be, combat actually feels pretty fluid. Im playing on the hardest difficulty aside from survival so that could be why fights feel as fluid as they do.

Exploration is one of the game’s strongest aspects too. It reminds me a lot of Gothic where going off the beaten path almost always rewards you with something. You’ll randomly stumble into hidden caves, disturbing questlines, rare gear, secret bosses, or notes/books that flesh out the world. If you’ve played Skyrim, you already know the core gameplay loop here: explore, loot, craft, level, repeat. But Tainted Grail adds a much darker and more oppressive atmosphere to it.

Crafting also matters more than I expected. Potions, resistance brews, poisons, food buffs, and consumables can genuinely make difficult fights easier if you prepare properly instead of just face tanking everything.

The writing is probably the game’s biggest strength though. The world is DARK. Like genuinely uncomfortable at times. It’s not uncommon to find books or notes with some pretty disturbing content in them, but personally I love that kind of artistic freedom in RPGs. The developers clearly cared more about making the world feel impactful and believable than worrying about offending people. A lot of the lore and side stories reminded me of the weird, unsettling stuff you could find buried in Morrowind books back in the day. There’s this constant feeling that Avalon is broken beyond repair and everyone in it is just trying to survive another day.

Performance-wise, yeah, there are some hiccups here and there since it’s running on Unity. I definitely had moments where frames dipped, especially in Act 1. Turning on DLSS, lowering shadows a bit, and dropping resolution scale to around 70% helped stabilize things for me a lot. Weirdly enough, Act 2 actually feels smoother performance wise compared to the beginning of the game. Either way, don’t let performance discussions instantly scare you off because everyone’s hardware setup is different. Some people are probably going to run it perfectly fine.

Overall, this game feels like it was made for people who miss old school games that didn't care to make you gasp once or twice. It’s janky in places, hardly but still a little jank, dark as hell, ambitious, and completely absorbed me in a way most modern RPGs don’t anymore. If you miss the feeling of getting lost in Morrowind at times for the first time, with that darker writing and more unsettling worldbuilding, this game is absolutely worth checking out.

On a side note, I really hope the folks at Questline get to make a second installment and turn this into a full series. I’d genuinely love to see what they could do with this world and gameplay using a more powerful engine than Unity, because the foundation they’ve built here already feels like it has a lot of room to grow. Honestly, not even just that, it’s also just that I want more of this game, and a second installment would be an instant buy for me.

What would you rate these 5 games?

Tyrants Realm ( A Rouge-like Soule-Like )
Esoteric Ebb ( A Disco Elysium-like game with a comedic D&D twist )
Drova ( Pixel Art styled RPG that takes homages from the Gothic series )
Metal Slug Tactics ( Metal Slug themed with tactical turn based combat )
Skald : Against The Black Pillory ( Retro style turn based RPG with a party system )

Now, you maybe wondering? Why am i asking this?
And honestly idk lmao but if by the off chance someone doesn't know about one of these games and may find something new to play ;D

But im actually curious. If you have played any of these games, what would you personally rate each one.

I know people have some negative opinions about the Gothic Remake, however...

I'd be a complete liar if I said that I've heard any changes to the game that has me concerned.

I know I know people were upset over the idea that the developers were changing some character models around particularly with how some of the women look making them wear less skimpy outfits. And I understand that there is a law reasoning behind why these women are dressed the way they are since basically they are sex slaves but I would be a liar if I said that is a big enough change to make me completely uninterested in the game.

However I'm sure the community has some more concerns regarding the remake and maybe I'm just oblivious to those facts or concerns but I'm interested in the concerns the community has towards the gothic remake

Im playing Tainted Grail Fall Of Avalon and found this really dark piece of literature

So, i found this noblemen under this bridge with a whole camp set up and after he attacks me and i end his rich suffering, i find this book sitting next to the fire place on a table.

I guess the Elite in Camelot are just as sadistic as the ones here in the United States .___.

DISCLAIMER : Im not freaking out or upset over this. I just posted this cause i thought it was a shocking thing to read. Not in a bad way so dont go assuming im complaining about something >___>

Is Bellwright worth picking up yet? How are the developers towards the community ala you guys?

As the title states. Ive been burned so many times with early access games. Not everytime but theirs been a handful of money schemes ive gotten myself tricked into (Games like Marauder or Superfuse or Rad Rdogers. I could keep going >___>).

And im not way passing judgement on the developers of this game. I just figured i'd ask the community how they are feeling about the current progress of how the games been paced with content patches and if the developers communicate with their playerbase.

Game looks really fun im just scared to full the trigger on this one and pick it up.

Anyone here play Tained Grail Fall Of Avalon? Whats everyone thoughts?

So far im really enjoying it. Def give off a hyped Morrowind/Skyrim vibe. Morrowind in terms of the bleak setting the world is built in and skyrim with how skills work.

Im loving it so far. For someone whos beaten morrowind more times then i can count, Oblivion like two back on the OG 360 (really need to go back and do a custom remastered playthrough with some mods unless the remake has an community patch that fixes all the bugs in the remaster) and Skyrim ive literally never finished. I played maybe, in total, like 80 hours(not in one playthrough just multiple attempted playthroughs and all i did was side content) and it just didnt care for it nearly as much as i did Morrowind and Obvlivion.

But im digressing xD

Im having alot of fun playing Tainted Grail Fall Of Avalon and i highly suggest anyone looking for an Elder Scrolls experience like how it was done but in the good'ol day? I would 100% give this game a shot.

Which of these games should i pick up?

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1374490/RuneScape_Dragonwilds/ - Runescape Dragonwild. Kinda like Valhiem meets Runescape.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1189290/The_Black_Grimoire_Cursebreaker/ - More of a solo Runescape meet Elder Scrolls.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2078230/Badlands_Crew__Drive_Command_Conquer/ - A Mad Max style tactical vehicle combat. Looks very unique.

I know one of the other two are vastly different type of game but im curious on what the community thinks of these titles :)

I know L'Hiver is always a good one to go with.

I dont wanna stray far from the Vanilla experience but any suggestions would be appreciated.

For example. Im looking into this game called Over The Top WW1 which is kinda like Holdfast (which seems to have a strong community) but before the latest update, the player count was under 100 people :/

And theirs this new Cold War FOS thats sorta like Battlefied thats called 83, which is already DOA.

Bodycam is another one that never has a steady player count unless they drop a major update.

Another game called EVAC which had awesome potential but no one plays it.

I think the issue is that theirs sooooo many of these competitive shooters out on the market where people get invested in one, and that one gains huge traction and those players dont branch out into other competitive shooters and i understand why, especially when youve invested all that time into one competitive shooter, why jump to another one and get invested in another?

But i also think gamers when they get my age (im 32), they dont play alot of competitive shooters as is and when they do they aren't nearly as sweaty as they use to be when they play.

I remember back when i was a teenager playing Halo 3 and before that Halo 2 and i was a MAJOR sweat in those games back when i was younger but now that im older, i'd rather play just for fun and its just hard to do that when alot of the competitive shooters i wanna try, im afraid will end up dead in a few months :/
