Being PIP'd due to personal situation

Hi all, so I've had my job performance or COC this week and I was basically told that there will be a PIP. Wonderful. Initially there was a HR person present to "make sure everything was being done well and so they could see how well a manager is doing the whole job interview" but pretty sure the gist of it was: You're being put on a PIP and HR has been notified.

The gist of it is that I have not been visible enough, missing the mandatory office days with the rest of team. Mostly this was caused due to stress, a lot of trouble in the home situation and mental related issues. Those issues have been mostly remediated or put in a process to be so. This has been addressed and discussed with my manager.

I have yet to hear what the PiP will entail but I'm kind of fearful of it. Fearful as that despite showing my 'worth' in half a year, they're going to get rid of me regardless. Which is fine, though it seems unfair.

Currently a lot of labour is being moved to India and people who leave are not replaced.

So, yea. I expected my career at this company not to last a long time - half expected 4+ years maximum with this year being the 4th one - and I am curious: Should I start looking up for something else? I mean, it has been on my mind for quite some time. Due to what is happening in my department but certain colleagues kissing a bit too much ass but shoving their ambitious in front of their humanity in their strife for promotion.

I am not a consult, I am part of IFS however.

Raambedekking/folie voor HR++ glas

Hi all,

Hi all,

2006 Mazda 3 1.6: Advice regarding brake rotors and pads replacement endeavours

Hi everyone,

So last week I attempted to swap out the rear rotors and pads of my 2006 Mazda 3. It went okay for a first time but ran into a few snags:

  1. Slide pin didn't want to go back in properly -> Wire brushed and greased it up, seemed to fix that but it needed some good force to go back into the threaded bolt hole.

  2. They sent me the wrong rotors, the ones they sent were 39 mm and the original ones are 41mm.

  3. Resetting the brake piston wasn't easy but I got it right eventually with the necessary tool.

So with the last thing, I placed back the old rotor (which I added a photo of) but placed the new pads. Due to time constraints, I did do the other side yet but I fully intend to do this in the upcoming week when the replacement rotors come in.

Now I did the necessary checks and the pads grab the rotor properly but I am fully aware that I've done a half-assed job. Now I do need to drive the car a few times at a maximum range of 30 kilometers or 18 freedom units (miles). Is this okay? I am fully aware this can cause uneven wear because one side is old, the other is "new". But I had ran fresh out of options.

For what it's worth: I am not noticing any complications whatsoever during drives. The front rotors and pads have been done a month ago.

I added some photos, of the old rotor, the pads (new and old) and hopefully you guys can advice me. :D

Crazy to see where I started, to end up at the current phase of my homelab.

These days, I run a lot of dockers on two ESX 8.0-based hosts. The Elitedesk on the first picture may get a purpose after I find a proper power adapter. The Synology NAS hosts a lot of Linux ISOs. ;-)

Maybe one day I will implement something like a JetKVM or equivalent but... no need for it right now.
