First forray into 4x4

Moving to Brisbane in September.

Going to be buying my first 4x4 shortly after.

Never had a need for one in the UK but we want to head In land and out onto some beaches for a night or 2.

Thinking the GWM Cannon. I see good reviews ect.

But I'm thinking about upgrades.

Tyres obviously a good all terrain.

Roof tent and canopy.

Given we will be 1 or 2 nights I'm thinking esky instead of fridges.

But are lights, winch, boards and bull bar required?

They seem to be the most expensive parts.

And other must haves.

Drinks on the floor during boarding?

A few weeks ago someone posted this photo of drinks held on the floor during boarding in premium economy. It is a disgusting thing to do.

This is a major red flag for food hygeine (yes drinks come under food hygiene) and I raised this with the council food healthy and safety department covering British Airways.

They have came back today and informed that this isn't acceptable and BA have acknowledged this isn't acceptable and will rebrief all crew in the crew service briefings.

It is shocking it requires this intervention but atleast it hopefully won't happen again.

Courgettes struggling?

Last year I had a tremendous crop of courgettes by this time.

This year, I have good plants, lots of big flowers. But I've only had 3 very tiny finger sizes courgettes.

Any ideas what I can do to spur them on?

I have about 8 plants outside, in a long bed with plenty of space and in the same ground as last year. Already fed them with some tomatoe feed and they were planted on top of some fresh compost as a supplement feed.

Strawberries galore!

All week I've had a box of strawberries.

The sun has done wonders. So big, so juicy. And in some cases so full of bugs.. 😂

Is the word bastard going out of fashion?

I never hear it anymore. Used to be when I was a youth the swear of choice. Now i can't remember the last time I heard or used it.
