How did you overcome self doubt or fear of failure on your writing journey?

Hello everybody.

I'm a 27 year old man who has long desired to become a children's author, but has been held back by deep-rooted self doubt.

To anyone else who has dealt with these negative "I can't do it" thoughts, how did you overcome them?

Why did Rugrats become so big YEARS after it first aired?

It is common knowledge that out of the first three Nicktoons, Ren & Stimpy was initially the most popular. Eventually though, that show declined when Games Animation took over after John K was fired. As for Rugrats, it wasn't until 1996 that the babies became a juggernaut.

For those who were around at the time, what did you think of Rugrats prior to the 1996 popularity surge? It was previously overshadowed by Ren and Stimpy, but it was more popular than Doug.

Heracross was shelved too fast.

Thinking back to the Johto era, I believe Heracross was very poorly handled. Ash caught him in A Sappy Ending, episode 119. He is later sent to Oak's Lab in exchange for one of the Tauros in Tricks Of The Trade, episode 146. Shortly after, Ash decides to let him stay with Oak for research. Heracross was in Ash's party for just 28 episodes. He was gone even before Squirtle, who rejoined the Squirtle Squad a few episodes later.

Bulbasaur, who had been with Ash since the 10th episode, stayed in his party until being sent to Oak in the 225th episode. Heracross didn't even make it to the second arc, Johto League Champions. Bulbasaur left in MASTER QUEST, the FINAL Johto arc. At 216 episodes, Bulbasaur spent the longest time in Ash's party of any Pokémon besides Pikachu.

Why was Heracross shelved after just 28 episodes, yet Bulbasaur who we had seen for over 130 episodes, stayed so long? This isn't a criticism of Bulbasaur either, I love him! His serious and mature personality made for a great contrast to more high-spirited Pokémon like Squirtle. With that being said though, I wanted to see more of Heracross.

[[SPOILER DISCUSSION]] My heart aches.

Re:Zero has no shortage of heartwrenching moments, but this one right here.... Watching Subaru STAB Patrasche out of anger at her following him, struck me in a way no other scene has. I actually teared up a little. Even after that stunning betryal, Patrasche STILL took him on her back and sacrificed herself to save him. She is truly one of the most loyal and wholesome characters of all time. We all need a Patrasche in our lives.

How To Destroy A Character

Watching the current season of the anime and remembering how Ruka defended Kazuya and Chizuru at the Hawaiians..... She stood up for them when it would have been in her best interest to just look on as their lie was exposed..... It makes me so sad seeing how far this character has fallen. While Ruka was always pretty overbearing and obsessive, she did have some positive traits back then. Putting aside her hostility towards Chizuru out of respect for what Grandma Sayuri was dealing with and helping out with the movie project is another example. Now, she's just a monster. A REPEAT sexual assault offender. One of the most flanderized characters in all of manga.

Is it just me, or does the manga constantly go on a break during or right before some Ruka drama? She appeared at the end of the last chapter, and now we wait til next Tuesday....

I remember us waiting TWO WEEKS before 407.

Rewatching this scene, I paused. You can very clearly see one of Ram's eyes in Patrasche's open mouth as she lunges for Subaru.

I know he isn't the Gluttony who put Rem in a coma, but his cockiness drove me nuts.

I can't wait until him and Lye both get their comeuppance. (I'm anime-only right now, so no spoilers please!)
