Steering Wheels on Steam Deck

I picked up.a Logitech G29 which seems to be the best choice for the deck. I ran an app called Oversteer and it says I don't have permissions to.make changes to the device. But, it does show a Logitech G29 and all the controls respond visibly on screen.

But the wheel doesn't appear as a controller under steam and this leads to wildly inconsistent results. Wan Zai"s Sega Rally emulation detects the wheel and the experience of playing that game again is fantastic. But Wan Zai also did Virtua Racing and that doesn't detect the wheel at all.

Nebula Model 2 allows you to choose from.gameoads 1-4 but none of these are the wheel. As above, steam doesn't display the wheel in it's controller options.

In short, Sega Rally is fantastic, but the wheel doesn't work with anything else. The wheel works great on Ps3, PS4, PS5, PC. What do I need to do to get Steam Deck to see it? It's frustrating because the Steam Deck is home to the whole history of racing games I loved as a teenager in the arcades and this racing setup is too big to put in the room with the PC, so the Steam Deck is the perfect solution.

XBOX button and thumbstick moves the mouse pointer. But holding the Xbox button too long turn off the controller. Also, it's so fast you always overshoot the button you're trying to click on. Can you slow it down?

It's a nightmare trying to click on anything using the control pad. You overshoot the button you want to click on because the pointer goes way too fast, even the slightest tap on the stick sends it halfway across the screen. And as you need to keep the Xbox button held down to simulate the mouse, this switches the pad off, so clicking on things means you miss for 10 seconds then realise the pad switched off too. Any workarounds?

Logitech G29 Wheel on Steam Deck

Anyone tried this? I'm told the G29 has its own dedicated Linux drivers and this is the best wheel for the Deck. But I'm curious as I do so much emulation of classic racing games I'm wondering how successful I would be, for example, using Wan Zai's brilliant PC version of Sega Rally running under Proton 11, Daytona on emulation of the Ps3, Model 2 and model 3 emulator etc. Anyone used this wheel on the deck?

Tomorrow, to win a bet, I have to randomly meet a famous person in the wild as they go about their day. Where should I go?

I have to randomly go up to someone and say hello. But I'm not allowed to go to say, a theatre stage door. I have to randomly stumble across someone getting a coffee or just going about their day. I can be near Media City in Salford if that helps, but waiting in the queue for a show isn't allowed... But does Gloria Hunniford grab a Pret a Manger?

I noticed that the posters in the theatre foyer for the Gay Musical had names listed on them. Are they real people?

Looking for horror based on a situation you could easily, realistically find yourself in. (examples: Open Water, Frozen)

I was totally enthralled by Open Water 2, where everyone on a boat spontaneously jumps in the water, leading to a slow realisation that there's no-one on the boat to drop the ladder. Or Frozen where three skiers find themselves trapped high on the ski lift when the resort closes for the week. These films really hammer home the fragile nature of our existence. The true horror comes from the realisation of how easy it would be to find yourself in a situation like this. Need recommendations of more movies of this type please.

All new cars should be connected to 5G. Instead of dangerous police chases, the police should be able to take control of a stolen car remotely and gently bring it to a stop, then lock the doors to trap the thieves inside.

Every magician on BGT has this same script. A simple "change bag" and 10 minutes of waffle. See body text for script.

You know, when I was a kid I first saw what I thought was real magic. It was when my grandad taught me that magic is about self confidence and belief. Simon, in front of you are some things that are all different. I want you to put them in this suspicious looking magicians prop bag, look away when I slide the switch into place then take out one of the many identical pieces of paper from the secret compartment. It doesn't matter which one you pick. Now, Amanda, I want you to go home and think about the appalling sitcoms you used to be in. OK, now Alisha I want you to choose a card from this deck at random, despite the deck being some sort of trick deck or forced card. OK. Now we have performed 2 of the easiest magic tricks in the world that could not possibly go wrong on live television, here's a video of me at KSIs childhood barber shop, revealing the card and the word from the earlier suspicious looking change bag that cost £4.99 from Alakazam Magic. OK now I'm going to get into a box, whilst surrounded by people with hoods over their faces. Just like every other magician you've seen on BGT I'll probably be revealing that I'm one of the people in the hoods but first I'll get in the box for no real reason.

I'll stop rambling on now, but my word BGT really needs to get it's shit together. Are all these magicians coming from the same agency or something? Look, if you get someone to pick a card then reveal you knew what it was , that's a rubbish trick. If you jump out of a plane and have the card printed on the parachute it's still a rubbish trick. And last night, the mileage that magician got from 2 simple change bags (20 slips of paper with different names on are put in the bag, the compartment slides over so Simon reaches into the compartment with 20 identical names) was just insane. There are so many wonderful talented magicians in the world and BGT just gets people doing incredibly simple tricks with massive reveals. Even the guy last night with Amanda's ring totally messed up the first half. Rant over thanks for listening

I was offered a job selling laptops. I'd get 50p for every add on sale of McAffee Anti Virus. I turned down the job on the basis of this. Is McAffee still terrible? Is Windows Defender enough these days?

How much does it cost for a kebab takeaway to buy one of those massive elephants legs of donner meat? What is the meat content?

Someone told me they are about £20 which makes me wonder what horrible meat scraps must be in them.

So there's a PC running the server and I'm trying to watch on phone and Xbox. They can't find the server, but clicking retry, maybe 10 or so times means the device can suddenly see the server and connects. Once you're connected it works for ever until you stop watching. It's purely this initial connection that is the issue. For example, if my phone is connected I can steam to it while the Xbox says it can't find the server. But they All connect eventually, it just takes lots of retries.
