Everyone has been saying it won’t be found and I guess this is my lucky day because somehow I also got $10 off when scanning my membership I actually don’t know what the promo was it just happened!
So excited to start digging in I’ve only got 20 minutes of gameplay on Banjo Kazooie so far and a disclaimer growing up I went from Genesis to SNES to then PlayStation 1-5 so I never had an N64 only played at friends for short periods of time.
Unboxing was a very premium experience It reminded me of iPod video/classic days. They wrote fun messages as you unbox it says Security system engaged and when you rip off the paper tab it says Security system disengaged! And then after you flip it upside down and slide the box on the table I actually guffawed at the message Warning this system is so awesome it may blow your mind haha I wasn’t expecting more and I guess I was holding the box perfect as it was facing me right after it dropped on the table I think that’s very clever! The controller I unboxed upside down and everything fell all over the table but that worked out as I can see many people could be unable to find the cord and battery pack below the tray thus explaining the paper insert included at the top of my shipment but this was unnecessary for me because it fell everywhere lol.
Setup booted quick however Wi-Fi prepatch was super weak and gave out so I had to connect to my pc and tbh I’m not going to activate WiFi now that I think about it unless there’s online games I may want to play it’s easier to connect to pc. You need to plug the power usbc to your pc and download the drive on their website and it updated pretty quick and same with the controller super quick
The Summercart64 I was debating aliexpress but the restock at Phenom mod was too perfect timing so I ended up ordering about a week ago and delivered quick! Those dang flat batteries are adult proof haha they’re so hard to open every time took me way too long and two different scissors. I had my tools ready from installing picoboot in my GameCube but realized it’s just a regular Phillips in the Phenom mod so unneeded after I looked at it closer. And setup was actually just drag dropping files right on the root of the sd card so easy I was expecting a loader or something
Finally booting up Banjo Kazooie playing 20 minutes so far I noticed right away Dithering is bad and deblur is good. Looking at the final image these are the settings I found look amazing and all the preset are bad imo. So I think this is where many are starting to say the image looks bad but Deblur on, Dithering off, 7 bit color on, noise filter off is my personal preference, anti aliasing and bilinear and gamma correction or divot idk really didn’t notice too much. Sharpness I maxed out everything and again a reminder I’ve played 20 minutes of one game total so far. And finally scanlines are off because I haven’t had time to tweak and again everyone says this but the presets aren’t good I didn’t have time to tweak this might be the single issue with the system is no one has created presets that are good yet which can easily be fixed with an update. And going with the filter I also disabled the crt gamma and went with modern tv gamma as that bloom brightness may be crushing highlights that others have been experiencing.
For future updates I know the settings can differ between each game some may look better with deblur off some may want other settings idk if I can save per game in the summercart or if they could save per game within m64 settings with a future update but per game settings are my main request. Looking great so far though really happy with everything including the image quality after I changed everything in that last photo and the controller is the best ever it’s the reason why I didn’t get the analogue 3d I needed that trident!
Malthus looks great but dang $50! Same with upcoming Christmas Carole Kermit I noticed, idk look great but I might be getting priced out hmm good thing I have a massive collection at home! (I tell myself as I walk away slowly)
I'm left amazed every time I go back and mess with these figures, I have to pinch my self to make sure I'm not dreaming! So excited for Storm to ship and really hoping for Psylocke, Mystique or Bishop next!
I had to go with purple I’m so excited for this one! Always interested in this project but especially ever since playstation announced physical ending I'm like, they just don't understand, we're just going to buy physical games somewhere else you idiots! I'm so excited to start buying for n64 era again it’s the golden age all over again!

That’s right and I thought I’d never say it but Dancouga is in the collection! Dancouga was my “I’m never going to own this” title, I’m so happy I’m still pinching myself haha! Since hearing the news about PlayStation ending physical and closing blu ray pressing plants and paywalling their Crunchyroll store I’m all in on Discotek and Animeigo (macross 2 4k shipping soon!) and Sentai I love them all but I miss nozomi and I’m almost basically boycotting Crunchyroll at this point I’ll just buy used copies on ebay I don’t feel right supporting them that much (unless there’s a really good sale) but love Discotek mediaocd keep it up you’re the best in the biz right now
On the plus side hey they got leather head predator Terrifier! But still so sad I cried a little, hopefully the leftovers are coming to a Ross near you

Came home to discover a wet rug with a box of movies, it got two LE Second Sight so sad! But beyond those the damage wasn't too bad so I had a fun weekend with the family!
