I feel so behind in life

He was becoming distant and dull. I asked why. Hes not happy anymore. We're supposed to get married next year. I dont know how to feel.. i just accepted 2 fulltime remote jobs to save money fast.. and now im so unmotivated. I cant show emotions at home either. I jave to show up everyday. Good thing i jave my support cats. I'm not surprised tho.. but still hurts so much. How to deal with this.. im also in a very rural area.. no where to go to have alone time.

Im now 33 and i dont know if i can rebuild again. I feel so behind cos of seeing my batchmates having built their own families, careers, and life.

Would you negotiate a lower-paying job offer?

Hi everyone,

I'd really appreciate some advice from fellow VAs and remote workers.

I'm currently working full-time for a Singapore-based company and have been with them for about a year. My salary is SGD 800/month with employee benefits, and the company is stable. Many of our projects are supported by Google.org, so I feel relatively secure in my current role.

That said, I've been looking for a higher-paying opportunity because I want to improve my financial situation. At the same time, I've realised that what I really want to build my career around is creative design, branding, websites, and visual marketing, rather than more general admin or operations work.

Recently, a previous client from Australia reached out and offered me a full-time role as a Digital Marketing & Brand Coordinator. The role is almost exactly the type of work I've been hoping to do.

However, the salary they're offering is AUD 850/month, which is actually lower than my current salary after conversion.

I'm feeling really torn because: The new role is much more aligned with the career I want.

My current role offers more financial stability. One of the reasons I wanted to change jobs was to earn more, not less.

My questions are: Is it reasonable to negotiate a higher salary after receiving the offer?

Since they approached me (I didn't apply), would negotiating be considered unprofessional? If you were in my position, would you stay in the stable job or take the role that's a much better career fit?

I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts or experiences. Thank you!

Are document agencies reliable for expediting an Unabridged Marriage Certificate from Pretoria?

Hi everyone,

I am a foreign national (Asia) marrying a South African citizen in Cape Town this December. Because of tight work leaves, I only have a short window (47 calendar days) to get married and lodge my spousal visa at VFS before my visit visa status expires.

Since Home Affairs takes months, we want to hire a private expedited document agency to pull our Unabridged Marriage Certificate directly from the Pretoria archives.

* Are these agencies reliable and legit? * Can they realistically deliver the certificate within 3 to 4 weeks, even with the December/January festive season shutdowns?

Would love to hear your recent experiences with them. Thanks!

Namasyal na pusa

My cat went outside the house noticed hes not at home. He escaped thru the window (our visitor opened it).

Hes 6 months old, i think inheat.. he tries to mate our other cats but theyre only 3.5 months old.

He usually goes out then comes back. But im worried because it's 12 midnight now🥲

Does anyone has the same experience? Do they come back?

Which Cape Town areas still offer decent value for renters in 2026?

Hi Capetonians,

My fiancé and I are planning to relocate to Cape Town later this year, We've been browsing Property24 and have a rough rental budget of around R10k-R12k/month for a studio or 1-bedroom.

Rather than looking for listings, I'd love some local insight:

Which areas do you think still offer good value for renters?

Are there suburbs that people from outside Cape Town often overlook?

Which areas would you recommend avoiding due to long commutes, safety concerns, or hidden costs?

We're open to different parts of the city and would appreciate perspectives from people currently renting.

Thanks!

30F with ldr bf 28M 7k miles away, 6 years LDR, his friends and family doesnt know I exists nor he has a gf

I’m in a long-distance relationship and recently found out that people around my boyfriend don’t know he has a girlfriend.

When I asked him directly if his friends/people he spends time with know about me, he said, “No, we don’t speak about that.”

He is Muslim, so I’m trying to understand if this is normal because of culture, religion, or family privacy — or if it’s a red flag. I don’t expect public posting or showing off online, but it hurts that people in his daily life don’t even know I exist.

I’d especially like to hear from Muslim people or people who understand Muslim relationships: is this reasonable, or is there a difference between keeping a relationship private and keeping someone a secret?

I’m in a long-distance relationship and feeling really drained. Tonight, a small disagreement turned into my bf giving me cold, one-word answers.

I tried to be vulnerable and explained that I have triggers for certain media due to past trauma/PTSD. I even told him "I wish I wasn't like this." His only response was a dismissive: "It's fine."

He is always like this when I try to talk about deep or personal things. I ended up apologizing for "overexplaining," but now I’m just hurt and can’t sleep. I have to leave in an hour to visit my brother in the hospital and I feel completely unsupported.

Is this just a bad communication style, or is it a sign he doesn't care about my emotional needs?
