I have recently planned a weekend trip to Munich end of September. How does tent reservations work?

Hi, I will have a group of 4 people. Are tent reservations still possible or is it too late?

Burnt out after 3 YOE as PM. Considering picking a new career path. Any advice?

Hi, I have 4.5 YOE experience overall and 3 YOE as a PM. Currently it looks something like this:

Education:

- BS Mechanical Engineering (Top 5 school)

- MS Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Spec (Top 5 school)

- MS Computer Science (Top 10 school)

Experience (Overlap is when I was doing 2 roles at once, different client project for each):

Company 1 (Warehouse Robotics):

- Project Engineer (1.5 years) - HW design, CAD layouts, electrical specifications, on-site equipment commissioning, network setup, database modifications, client trainings, client support

- SW Engineer (1.5 years) - API Design, Working with client to understand functional needs, Network and Cybersecurity support, API feature development, system testing, client trainings

- Project Manager I (2.5 years) - Managing $15M in total revenue projects (2 main client projects. 1-2 year long projects), manage engineering team and their tasks (Strong Matrix Org), training engineers on my teams and reviewing our technical documents, manage all schedule and finances, write change orders, lead all client communication, plan installation and shipping phasing, write RFQs for suppliers and help negotiate with them alongside supply team, managing on-site commissioning and system testing progress, interface with internal leadership

Company 2 (Warehouse Automation):

- Project Manager II (6 months) - Managing 2 projects ($100M+ in revenue), managing schedule, finances, on-site commissioning, and suppliers/installers. Interfacing internally up to VPs and C-suite

Things I don't want:

- I am tired of crazy high travel (50-60%). I'd love to be at 25% but could accept less

- I am tired of 50-60 hours weeks and working evenings and needing my work phone on throughout the weekend

- I am tired of the aggresive nature of internal leadership and client leadership and frequent meetings of getting chewed out both internall and externally (leave customer work?)

Things I do want:

- I want to keep my pay roughly the same. Right now that is 120k in MCOL

- I like using a breadth of knowledge. I hate being siloed in one area and feeling like I am wasting skills

- I want to work 40 hours per week again. No more than that unless on rare occasions. I used to not mind the random evening or weekend call but I think I need a break from it at least for now. I may become ok with it again in the future

How do I move from being a PM to being an EM?

After a few years of Engineering experience (1 Year as a Mechanical/Hardware Engineer and 1 year as a SW Engineer) I moved to being a PM. I feel my best strengths as a PM are leading my team, building up their skills and our culture, and understanding what needs to happen on a technical level. I feel like being an EM fits me a lot better and I want to figure out how to make the switch.

Edit: I also really do not want to get another degree. I have 2 Masters degrees at this point (Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science) and am just kinda tired of it

Ready to move out of Atlanta. Trying to find something similar to certain aspects but completely different than others

I've been in Atlanta (or its suburbs) my whole life. I still really love Atlanta but I just need to take a fresh start somewhere. Here are my things I don't want to lose in Atlanta and the things I wish could change.

Things I want to keep from Atlanta:

- Old Fourth Ward is my current location. This level of walkability is great and the culture here too. Honestly what I really want is another neighborhood somewhere similar to O4W

- Music/Concert/Alternative Scene. Where I am right now has a great scene. Little Five, East Atlanta, Edgewood all has lots of grungier or alternative bars and plenty of record shops. I want to keep that. Plus, most concert tours come through Atlanta

- Food. Driving up to Buford Hwy is the best. I love Asian food and Mexican food and access to good food is ideal

- Culture. Atlanta feels like a living and breathing city to me and I don't want to go to a polished tech bro land

- A strong airport. I love to travel and I do not want to be doing a million connections. I love having an Airport that goes everywhere

- A good LGBT scene. Atlanta has a great one and I want my next city to also have one

Things I wish I could change for my new city:

- Public Transportation. While I am specifically in a good walkability area, there is no access to trains and I can't get to other parts of the city to walk there easily. I would love to barely ever need a car.

- Weather. Omg it is too hot and humid. I just want to finally have all 4 seasons

- Politics. Atlanta is a blue city but Georgia is still red as hell. Being in a more blue state would be cool. This is negotiable if the city itself is blue enough

- Religion. I am not religious at all and that has been a difficult thing for me being in the Bible Belt. There is a big focus on it here

- Traffic. If you have been in Atlanta traffic you understand. I want a normal commute (or a train commute if feasible)

- Different enough. I also want it to feel different enough that it truly feels like I am living in a new place and it feels like a fresh start somewhere

Is there a good tech or automation industry in Chicago?

I live in Atlanta but have always wanted to move to Chicago. But I don't know of any companies in my or related industries in that area whatsoever. What is the tech scene like if I wanted to find a job there?

Can I cancel a paint protection add-on before coating goes on?

I bought a car today and was really unsure with all of the add-ons. I ended up choosing only one that comes with:

"Sentinel Appearance Product - Ceramic

Term: 84 Months

Sentinel Vehical Appearance Package

Sentinel Vehical Appearance Package Rental Car Coverage"

for $1500.

Supposedly it covers interior and exterior, however the main reason I said yes was I was worried about paint chips because I know it is common with this car brand. However, I started reading the contract and it says regular wear and tear is not covered which paint chips would not fall under. It only lists weather induced fading, loss of gloss, water spotting/hard water, indistrial fallout, acid rain, bird lime, insect residue, tree sap, and road salts.

So now I am thinking I don't want this. The good news is, they were unable to apply any sort of coating today and I was going to need to come back for it. If they quite literally have not put the coating on it yet, am I still able to cancel it?

In addition, is there some reason this is actually worth it if it doesn't actually protect against paint chips? If it means anything, I DO park outside

Does the 2023 CX-30 Premium have Bose Audio or not?

I am really confused. I keep seeing places say these have premium audio including the car dealership telling me that trim has Bose Audio. Including this website:

https://www.pearsonmazda.com/trim-levels-of-the-2023-mazda-cx-30.htm

However, I am looking at pictures online and not seeing the Bose logo. And if it doesn't, what actually is the upgrade over preferred other than the HUD? It feels like there is almost no difference.

I want the Bose Audio for me so this is an important detail for me. If it doesn't have it, how hard is it to upgrade and what would it cost?
