Questions form the PE Noob

I (F46) finishing my first week of blood thinners and I have a few questions that I hope someone has an experience with

  1. For the love of the goddess, I can't remember taking medication on time. I take my thyroid meds in the morning when I get out of bed, it can be 6 am or 12 pm (if I am really lucky), this is why I moved to the Nova Ring (which I can't use now). The pharmacist told me that I have to take my blood thinners every 12 hours so I am trying to aim to 9am-9pm but here now its 10:30 pm and only now I took it. I have a reminder in my phone but...

How important it is to take the meds on time?

  1. Has any of you did ear piercing on blood thinners? I want to do one in the upper part of the ear.

  2. How bad is it to push yourself to work hard? I just carried about 100-150lb of soil. I just can't feel like a disabled person anymore (I also post GB op). I do feel tired and a bit of pain in my neck but I am okay otherwise

  3. Compression socks -my legs look so, so, so bad. I have no way to start describing how they look but its bad. For how long should I wear the socks and is a time limit for wearing them in a day?

  4. Biphentin - for ADHD. My family doctor said that its okay to start taking it, one of the walk-in doctor that I once met said that he is not a fan of adult taking them because it can cause blood vessels to constrict (narrow), which affects circulation in the small blood vessels of the fingers and toes. It is really helpful, but I don't know if I should take it or not...

  5. Besides the stroke known symptoms, are there any symptoms that I should be aware of?

Thank you all ❤️

Blood Thinners and Dreams

Hello 👋

I don't know if I come under the title of a survivor because I didn't suffer anything massive. I developed a small cloth in my lung post surgery and was diagnosed yesterday.

I am still mentally processing the changes in my life, including the inability to use hormones to stop my monthly cycle and that I should expect heavy bleeding 😭 as well as not being able to go to the gym, afraid of each time I will run into the wall (I accidentally do it a lot), fall (I tend to fall a lot) and not being able to go on rides at the amusement park or do other things that was already put on hold due to my surgery.

If you have any tips of how to deal with these feelings, I would love to hear.

Also, I wanted to ask. I started taking the medication yesterday (my specialist appointment is next week). Since the first dose I had crazy dreams, like totally crazy that woke me up with rapid heartbeats go back to sleep and they would come back again wherever it was an afternoon nap or the night sleep.

I have always had vivid dreams but not as many and not in every sleep cycle.

The medication they gave me called NRA-Apixaban.

Thanks for your help.

Help me understand the math = I wake up, they wake up.

I father came to live with me and my son, I am totally grateful but we have one washroom.

As soon as I wake up, as soon as I sit down in bed he gets up and go to the washroom for 10 minutes even if I have to pee like crazy. It doesn't matter if its 6:30 am (which is my wake up time and every minute count), if its 7:45 am, if its 8:30 am or 5 am. Because I am supposed to get to the washroom at 6:30 sharp I started to wake up earlier and this is when its happened too 🫪

Now, I am very quiet, my dad is not which means that my kid also wakes up. Lately thankfully he started sleeping in.

With my kid is, as soon as I am going to the washroom for number 2. Although I announce it and telling them if they want to go to number 1 before. They don't, as soon as I start doing what I do they have to go urgently for number 1. WTF?

And my dad don't wash his hands coming from the washroom to the kitchen and starts touching food and dishes. He said that washing in the washroom is enough (its not, especially with a child in the house). Its pretty bad.

Why wake up as soon as I wake up, get your own alarm clock.

I'm not going to tell my father anything about the washroom but its super annoying.

Bloody Neighbors from Hell - My Worst Mistake #2

Now its the other side, we try to maintain friendly environment. They play something on the TV from about 6 pm that sounds like it's thunderstorm in our home. They have a subwoofer or something.

I went there at 10pm, we are normal people that goes to bed at 9-11pm but my kids bedtime is 9 pm and so do my father who lives with us.

So I went there and and asked nicely to reduce the subwoofer. The mother said that its not loud, I invited her to my home to hear it and she declined.

Its now 10:26 pm and the bandits still playing on the TV full volume, with the speakers. Why being so self absorbed 😪

Maybe aI will start a go fund me, get $1M and move out of this toxic co-op sinkhole

$2,500 CAD Canada - 13YO first gaming laptop + school

Budget: $2,500-3,000 CAD

which is about $1,780-2,100 USD.

Country: Canada

Use case:

I am going to buy my kid his first gaming laptop and it is so, so confusing. So many companies and brands and opinions. It must be a laptop (because it will be used for other things too).

Prefered Specs:

This is what I know I need for now

Screen - up to 16"

Ram - at least 32g

Drive - 1T (we don't use cloud)

OS - Win 11 (for now)

Processors: Intel 9Ai ultra or AMD Ryzen 9 9950

Graphic cards: maybe something over Navida 5070?

Sound - not sure what to look for

Frills- cool colour changing keyboard (with numbers on the side).

Weight- up to 1.5 kg if possible

Battery life - at least 3-4 hours off charging

Screen refreshing rate - I heard that it is important, how much is good?

Not to get too hot - should I buy a fan for it?

Add on: touch screen if possible, finger print will be great - the kid has special needs and have a hard time remembering passwords

Notes

Child age: 13

He is also getting into games programming (Gadot for now) but maybe will get into something else.

The only thing that I wish to avoid is Lenovo website as I had a very bad experience with them and a refund that took 9 months to receive so if its not what he will want (its a gift) I will be stuck.

Maybe its an overkill for a 13 YO? I want I want something that will least for the next 4-5 years

Thanks for your help.

Why Me?

I'm (F 45) so tried, overwhelmed, over everything and it feels like every step that I am taking forward pull me back 5 more.

It seems that everything is happening to me, and maybe it is also happening to everyone but from what I see when bad things happen to someone else they start, they ends until next time. For me its non-stop, all the time, without downtime.

I feel like a freaking soap opera character that is expected to stay within her life scope and not grow or hope or wish and once I do, I am getting punished for it.

But its not only bad things that happened, or bad as it seems. People rely on me, come to me for advice, want my space, want a share of me and all I want is some peace. I want to focus on me and my child, I want to grow, and I don't want you to smile at me when you see me as if you seen jesus or something. Why people keep smiling at me as if they know me? Its not a polite smile, I know polite smiles.

I was at the amusement park this weekend, with family friends. At one point, after about 20 random people that looked at me and smiled I asked my friend if other people looked at her and smiled during this visit. She said that no one did, she said that I have friendly and welcoming face. I don't, I rock the RBF. Obviously, I will smile back, I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

The thing is, that it has always been like that. If I come grumpy to the office, everyone in my department suddenly get grumpy. If I am sad, the same, if I am happy they will be happy. I'm not a manager of anything, just a small meaningless employee. Why my mood reflects on everyone and it doesn't matter if this is my small family or 120 employees department.

Well, maybe I just want to be left alone for a month or so. Hide from the world, do nothing, have everything that I need cared for by others. Maybe I am just tired and overwhelmed.

I made the worst mistake ever - I do need to vent.

TL;DR - I live with the neighbors from hell and it is all my fault.

I moved within my housing neighborhood, I moved because I needed a driveway for my disability, and people that I shouldn't have listened to convinced me to move.

I knew the people who will live next to me, the wife is a board member, and a bully (all if our board members are bullies but she is the head of them, after the management of course, they pushed out of theboard a few of the nicest neighbors I know).

Anyway, the wife hates my guts because when I was on the board (yes another mistake), I prevented her from conducting a fraud that would have pocket her over $10k.

I don't know why I agreed to move. I mean, I know and it was, still is the worst mistake ever.

They are p0rch h0nkies, they smoke weed all they long, they do other d7ugs, they watch TV outside and they are so trashy. They have been violent towards me before and their daughter literally tried to run me over with her car.

Because they smoke weed all day long I can't open my windows.

And the husband, he is a freaking stalker creep. As soon as he sees me pulling into my drive way, he will come down to his h ouse foyer to smoke his weed there (although on a regular basis he smokes at the back).

At first, I thought that it was coincidental but then I noticed that he is only coming out to smoke when I am pulling into the driveway. He is not there before, he is not there after, he is always there when I am coming.

The neighbor that lives in front of them said that she feel that they are stalking her all day long, especially when she is coming but. I thought that she is saying it because of her anxiety and because she is a bit dalolo, apparently she was right.

I am living in this house since January and it has been a living hell.

Besides that one time in my early 20s when I shared a thin wall with a drug addict that was playing music all night long, I never had bad neighbors. Some were better, some were okay, some had bigger families, some lived alone, some had small kids, other had special needs childern that when they were noisy we understand why. I lived in a street above restaurants and pubs and it wasn't like that. I can say that no matter what neighbors I had we always had good relationships, we helped each other and was considered. I am talking about 2 countries, 5 cities, about 6-8 different homes.

Mind you the endless noise and smoking, I can't even sit with my kid outside because their conversations are inappropriate (more gossipy) and every second word is F** this, F*** that. They sit and talk about me, knowing that I hear them, they literally said that I am being a Karen because I am jealous of them. Someone should tell them that the reason I prevented them from pocket the $10k from our housing income is because its a fraud.

How come they don't see how ill it is to use the money for their own advantage and well, committing a fraud.

I have never had to deal with s*itty people like they are.

They are literally the bottom of the septic tank type of people

I'm just so frustrated, sad and drained 😪

Any encouragement words could help.

Nightmare neighbors. I am so sad.

I live in assistance housing, I was kinda forced to move from my house do to my disability needs to another unit in the neighborhood. I live with different neighborhoods throughout my life, some were better, some less but all in all besides the ju4kie that lived next to me 26 yeras ago all my neighbor were always wonderful and we always lived in a considerate and friendly relationship. I agreed to move because this was the only option I had. What a mistake.

The neighbors next to me, are simply porch h0nkies. They sits outside all day long, smoke w**d that smells like skunks nonstop, and I smell it inside my house.

They are being loud and vulgar. Every second words that comes out of their mouth is f*ck, f*ck, f*ck and I have small kids in the house (I can hear them with the windows open or closed).

If my kids make the smallest noises (reasonable noise not before 10 am and not after 8 pm), they will knock on my walls as its the end of the world, but they play music with their subwoofer any time of the day or mow the lawn on Suday at 8 am (by-law says 10 am).

Here is the bigger problem, they are on the board of our neighborhood, and they hate me because when I was on the board I prevented them from committing a $15k fraud.

The management office (one employee) can't care less because the board ignores her fraud activity and they scratch each other backs.

There is nothing much that I can do but suffer until I will move from this area.

God, why people like that even exist? I wish I could move somewhere else.
