Ewww.....what are THOSE!?

Bambu X1C +0.4mm E3D Highflow Hotend

Bambu Slicer

Jayo PETG HS Matte, bone dry (AMS-HT 65°C 18H)

29mm³/s Max Vol Flow

0.99 Flowrate

245°C - 125mm/s outter wall speed.

0.4mm Retraction, 0.019 PA

Calibrations are dialed in well, and model is printed flawlessly.

Clean walls, good dimensions, great surface finish, ironing perfect....

...EXCEPT FOR THESE DAMN ZITZ/BLOBS in this one corner.

(no it's not on the seam)

WTF are they?

There must be an easier way.

What's the easiest route for a set and forget scenario?

I built a home server as a linux noob with some online tuts and a lot of LLM copy-pasting.

Ended up having proxmox run on a mini-pc

On it runs HomeAssistant, Nginx, Adguard, Truenas and Nextcloud on that.

I am massively overwhelmed with maintaining my Nextcloud.

Theres a 1TB SSD only for Truenas/nextcloud. It ran out of storage space and now the truenas VM wont even boot anymore. All of the family data is now inacessible... 😮‍💨

1st: Is there a way to save the data and swap out the SSD for a 2TB one without losing the data?

2nd: Is there a way to make this easier without using closed source ecosystems?

Temp tower evaluation

What are we thinking?

Overture TPU 95A MATTE.

Generic profile defaults for flowrate and PA

BAMBU H2C

3.2mm2/s volumetric flow

I switched to 50% speed for the topmost bridge, so don't let that fool you.

Kayoumini

HM X14

1103 8000kv (underpowered imho)

Baby ratel 2

2S

60g without battery

Painted in mirror chrome but the effect was lost to clearcoat sadly. Will try airbrushing next time.

Flies alright. Expected more after all the hype tbh.

Will swap the 1103 for some KV11k ones and see how it improves

Volador VX35 - WildBerry

My second ever build after some Tinywhoops and a JeNo 3.5

Parts:

  • Frame: Volador VX35. Painted white, then copper marble effect + 2K clearcoat
  • Motors: T-Motor it'sFPV 1604.5 KV3650 with 3mm shaft
  • Props: Gemfan Bash 3.5
  • FC: HobbyWing XRotor F7 Covertible
  • ESC: Flywoo Goku G45M AM32 128K 45A + 50V 470uF polymer capacitor + TVS-diode module
  • Battery: Running 6S 650-850mAh GNB/D
  • VTX: Flywoo DJI O4 Wide Air Unit "Pro" (lite) + Axisflying aluminium case + 40mm FF Osprey Antenna LHCP
  • RX: Cheapo radiomaster RP1 clone from beloved uncle AliX (cursed be the EU capitalist vultures and their tariffs!!! In case you haven't heard: https://www.reddit.com/r/Aliexpress/s/qKnDdQu0k4)
  • GPS: NewBeeDrone M10Q (sticker was ruined after many fittings in unsuitable mounts. Ended up printing the flywoo design and slepping it on there. looks better too lol.)
  • Beeper: Vifly Finder Mini
  • TPU: EONO (amazon brand, set of 4x250g) TPU Silk. Supposedly 'purple'...
  • Coating: All electronics are covered in at least 2 layers of MGC 422B + T8000 & B6000 on solder joints and around cable plugs.

Plenty of trial and error. Loads of test prints as I couldn't find exactly what I needed.
Did some customization in slicer, but lack of CAD skills only gets you so far 😅.

Cable routing ended up taking a lot of time bc of OCD. Twisted power cables only, signals are parallel. Used paracord for sleeving and glue lined heatshrink to fixate it.

After pics were taken, wifey made custom pink battery straps with rubber liners.

Mandatory cat-pic because he sabotaged the project a couple of times by pushing items off the desk -.-

TPU prints randomly keep dropping in quality

Bambu H2C

TPU feed assist module.

Eono TPU 95A, dried thoroughly in AMS-HT (500G roll 12h at 75°C), printing out of AMS-HT at 60°C (it cools down before reaching printhead).

Fully calibrated, previously very good results.

Darkmoon G10 Plate

I printed this antenna mount but didn't like the visible layer line at the height of nozzle change in this Silk TPU. (1st from left)

I therefore print again without dedicated support interface material.

1st attempt is decent (2nd from left). Want to get better results and hit 'print again'.

From that point on it only goes downhill. Overhangs drooping, outer walls sagging.

Lowered temp by 5°C (from previously calibrated 225°C sweetspot). No improvement.

Swapped for another clean nozzle + cold pull. No improvement.

Without changing any major settings, it keeps getting worse.

No matter if I place object closer to aux fan or not.

WTF is going on? How can quality suddenly degrade like that?
