30 Minute Missions AC4 VE-40A

Weathered this guy up, (definitely over weathered) and had a blast doing it. Out of box it’s basically a sea of grey plastic with super sharp details, so a great kit for anyone trying out weathering.

The kit itself is great, but does have shoulders that tend to pop out of socket. Partially because the design and partially because the elbows are so tight. But just be mindful of how you articulate the arm and your good (remember to move it like a model and not like an action figure and it shouldn’t give you too many problems)

Oh also it took me more than 30 minutes even just the base build, and I doesn’t come with a stand so you might want to grab one with it

These new Post Freedom Seed kits are excellent! -Gouf Ignited (heine westenfluss Custom)

Maybe it’s better to say the post 2017 seed kits? I hear the destiny is pretty good too. But i came back because the seed freedom line, and they are such an improvement over the older kits. This one is exactly what you want in a Gouf. I hope we get it jn blues soon.

Pictured here with some other orange squad kits. And an Entry grade grandaddy.

Lady Lamorak of the soul spear.

My latest repaint of an SNAA round table knights kit is a Soul Pear Lamorak that I decided to make a fembot. She already reminded me of a more sleek take on Iron Sickie so i just leaned into that and decided that they were brother and sister.

Shes a lot more basic of a build than a lot of the post Iron Sickie kits. Less runners in the box. Not so over the top with her weapons or super weapons, -So more fun to pose and swap weapons imo.

Also yes the kit is called soul spear but arguably none of its weapons are spears lol 😂 (a lance and a halberd) but she also comes with probably the most traditional looking riffle style weapon since the incise grace. It’s hidden inside the lance which is really cool.

Work in progress on my Moto Nuclear Huan Ci custom.

Ive had this guy in my backlog for a while now, but After completing their Jihu kit (first slide) a had to jump the line to build it! Its not as amazing as the JiHu but it is pretty solid so far. Heavy and solid but super posable without all the sharp points of their more fantasy based kits.

One weird thing: even though they’re both part of the Blazing Stars line (i love the opening cockpit gimmick) -this and the JiHu appear to be different scales based on their pilot figures (either that or the JiHu pilot is a BIIIIG boy)

Motor nuclear Jihu (Heine Westenfluss colors)

Great kit. Fun to build and paint. Super solid. No fitting issues. I didn’t sand this kit at all. More posable than you would think. Lots of weapons and so many gimmicks. Slightly bagger scale than the only other motor nuclear kit in this line so far.

Cons: 2 complaints really,

-1: they designed the kit for use with LEDs but it doesn’t come with ANY. Not just without batteries (im used to the with my Hemoxian kits) but without the LED unit all together! Makes it hard to know what size units to buy or even where to buy them

-2 isn’t really an issue but something to be careful about. All the opening panels are attached via C-clips. So just be careful pushing them in or opening them because you dont want to stress those clips and make them loose (or even worse snap one)

SNAA Bedivere with custom paint job

Part of their Beyond exquisite Round table knights line. Typical SNAA build. Smooth and well engineered. Drop down hips, and that sort of pop out waist thing that they do means excellent posabilty.

This kit is giving me wild man brawler vibes (like wolverine or my boy Uvogin , so I leaned into that more than the noble lion hart knight thing (although i cant wait for someone to paint this thing gold and red)

Lots of accessories including a whole second arm with full articulation! Definitely dont pass on this one!

SNAA BEDIVERE CUSTOM. (year of the tiger version)

I wasn’t going to get this guy at first because I didn’t think his super robot vibes really fit in with the rest of the knights in the line so far, …but then i realized that he reminded me of my boy Uvogin From the manga HunterXHunter, ….so i had to!

I went with a tiger motif instead of a lion because i thought it would be fun to maybe paint a set of eastern Zodiac customs in this line. Since so many people seem to confuse Knights of the round table with the zodiac online (THERE ARE MORE THAN 12 KNIGHTS IN ARTHURIAN LEGEND LOL 😂)

I also wanted to try out Dispaes no wash airbrush with my new HobbyMio portable compressor. It worked great. Since this is the advanced gunpla sub i posted my paints used. the metallic brown was done by mixing orange with metallic black and a splash of dark red. For the white i just used white primer

The biggest headache from a painting perspective is gates being on curved parts

Ill post on Gunpla more about the kit itself, but basically and awesome experience and fun to paint

W.I.P. : Bring on the bad guys.

Working on my custom of SNAA’s new Bedivere kit. (Year of the Tiger version i guess?) still have a lot to do, havent started building any weapons yet. But so far a fun build thats not hard to paint

Criticisms:
sharp points! Seriously the teeth on the chest, the points of the mane, all of the points here are pretty sharp. Be careful.

Gates being on curved parts. Its a minor nitpick, but if you plan on painting those type of nubs require careful sanding because imperfections will show up when you prime.

Ill post more pics when its done
Thanks for looking.

Work in progress on my first V-gilante custom

Rubber coated wire is such a game changer when it comes to adding detail or complexity easily to a build. It sturdy and flexible.

With the new Gundam announcement wearing a cloak on its poster I’ve been thinking of ways to get a similar effect design wise without working with fabric at a small scale, and without stretching the immersion as much (maybe it’s just exhaust hoses which happen to look like a scarf around its neck?)

Very fun quick build. Think it took like 2 hours with the hand painting and decals (still have more of those to go)

Another banger from Sheik mainland grab it.

Work in progress on my Motor Nuclear JIHU custom

Got the main body about 80% done. After that i still have it’s armory and stand.

Good build and easy to paint. My only warning is that almost all of the opening hatch gimmicks are built on C-clips. So be careful attaching them and opening them (don’t want them to get weak or stressed)

My only other complaint so far, and this may just be my copy, -but it doesn’t actually come with any LEDs it has space for them but doesn’t come with the units or the batteries (often kits wont come with batteries in the states, but they’ll usually have the unit itself -like all my Hemoxian stuff)

But otherwise its been an amazingly fun build so far with sooo many gimmicks.

This is my Red Galahad. There will probably be many others like it, but this one is mine:

“BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD MECH!”

I originally started painting it red as a Sinanju/Sazabi homage, but as i went along it started to remind me of Khorne miniatures from Warhammer Ive seen. So I leaned into that with the blood. Which also reminded me of an amazing Builder who used to post here their Snaa kits in really warhammer style paint jobs (i think they stopped around the time of Percival -anyone know who im talking about?) so i think im gonna go back and make this look even more warhamer like in their honor

Kit: the SNAA Round Table Knights Warhammer Galahad. I brought it from Gundam place (got to me pretty quick too.)

Unfortunately i dont have the skill to do this kit justice in photos

Neither the skill nor the camera/light box set up, but this thing is sooooo striking in person! It draws the eye instantly whenever i glance at my shelves.

This is the bootleg MGEX Strike Freedom from Changlong White Transparent version (basically the Twilight version with the pearlescent white pieces swapped for clear) i think theyre the only company selling this specific combo right now. I got it from ali for about $70 usd

The build was smooth (ive built the official in original colors) but the clear plastic is super soft and strange to work with. You don’t get that satisfying snap like with normal plastic, But it doesn’t nub up much if you’re using sharp nippers

WIP: Custom Xenostrike inspired by Scud the disposable assassin

Work in progress on my custom Xenostrike inspired by Scud the disposable assassin, one of my favorite indy comics from the 90s (it’s about a vending machine assassin who realizes that it will self destruct after completing its job, and so doesn’t kill it’s target, -just keeps it alive in the ICU lol)

Still have some sanding and repainting to do on the joints. Going to have to prime them white because the yellow im using is so translucent (like a lot of yellow paints). Will also re-design the face maybe

Thanks for looking!

Okay im going a little overboard with this last Franz Alpha!

But im loving it so far. Work in progress obviously. Still debating what color to do the head in, and if red eyes sound like a good idea or not.

The shoulders have 1mm holes in them like for 3 minute mission stuff i think, But theyre easy to open of with either a pin vise or an exacto knife.

u/Guilty_Fig7482 — 2 months ago

Alright Sheik_Mainland, you can’t just give me a cool purple mech and expect me not to think of Eva 01 (Franz Alpha 1/144 kit X4)

And of course when i think of unit 01 im then going to think of unit 02, …and after that its might as well swap the purple and white pieces and make a unit 00.

Really great kit! So many build options, so dynamic to pose, so easy to paint )everything is either undergated, hidden on build (the parts you cut from gates get hidden by other parts), or both. You can pant this kit on the runner

Ill post more once i finish the black one and put final details on all 5

(Ps. I know Eva unit01 isn’t the first purple mecha, I’m a transformer fan, and so half my favorite decepticons are purple lol)

Bootleg RG Akitsuki (regular and titanium finish)

Both of these are bootlegs. I haven’t built the official (it was going for a little over $100 at the shop near me, -both of these combined were under $60)

Got them off the Orange App. Not sure of the company that makes them (box in the second pic)

Build definitely didn’t feel as smooth on the Titanium finish as the regular, but the trade off is the nubs are a lot less visible on the white parts

-DEFINITELY NOT A KIT FOR BEGINNERS WITH BOOTLEGS. Lots of patience and forethought necessary if you want to get the best results. But not bad at all if you know how to sand and snip multiple times with sharp nippers or an exacto

The titanium white is like a fairly opaque white on top of a layer of silver paint, so its thicker than just the gold plate but still doesn’t lose details.

Bonus!: they both come with extracts pieces (most of the E2 runner) so if you buy both you can add extra gold to the white one (I went with gold chest vents, hip skirts, and calf vents). They both also have waterslides, so no ugly sticker borders.

Hips are solid on the initial build but i don’t plan on posing these much

First of five! (Straight build franz alpha)

Last slide is extra pieces for this set. (Most of the torso and a completely second backpack with nowhere to plug it in)

Great build. Very easy. Joints went together smoothly (sometimes the hips can be hard to attach on some of their kits)

I wonder if Sheik mainland worked on their runner layouts of they could charge a little less for their kits. There’s always sooo much waisted plastic in their 144 kits. Even if you like to keep extra parts for customizing

u/Guilty_Fig7482 — 2 months ago

Really great bootleg Hazel kit

Got this guy off that Orange app.

About $15

Really great feeling plastic, really crisp details

Reminds me of a JMS bootleg (like their Moon Gundam)

No sanding needed

Only gaps are where the polycaps got bunched at a weird angle between two pieces (which happens to me on Bandai kits too when im not careful

Bonus! I heard this has more range of motion than the original (but it does still have polycaps so not quite a modern revival)

Thanks for looking.

The Long ji model kit by CangDao (their 3rd kit and first non-SD style one)

Excellent build experience. No issues. Multiple build options. Two separate heads, symmetrical shoulders (I chose to build its axe as a shoulder puldron), water slide decals (that i havent. Put on yet), a simple but sturdy stand.

I brought this to go with my MoShow toys Excellent class Metal build figures. (Unfortunately they’re not where im at right now so side by side shots will have to wait) -this matches their proportions and style in my opinion

It also feels incredibly solid. Not as great as a metalbuild figure (Cangdao makes excellent figures) but still really heavy and fun to pose. These one legged poses were super easy to pull off. The LED in the head works great, and the skirts dont get in the way at all. Definitely recommend this one idea you like posing kits dynamically
