Writing help

Got some extra free time this summer since I’m out of school! I work at my university’s writing center, so if anyone needs a hand reviewing their personal statements, let me know. Happy to help out!

BIOL 1593

For anyone that gas taken the newly redone BIOL 1593 final exam..How was it? The old exam was mostly focused on the last four chapters, so I’m wondering if it’s still similar.

Dismissive response from a FM doctor (MBBS not MD)

My sister had a phone appointment with a family medicine doctor after experiencing a severe depressive episode for about 15 days before her period, which had never happened to her at that intensity before. She had also recently started Vyvanse, so she was worried the symptoms might be related.

When she explained this, the doctor said, “What do you want me to do about that? You know it’s normal for women to go through that.”

How do you think a response like that could affect a patient who is already feeling scared, vulnerable, and unsure?

Posting this to see how premeds would analyze this interaction from a patient-care perspective. This is not meant to be a rant, but more of a discussion about communication, empathy, and how dismissive responses can affect patients.

P.S. If you think there is nothing wrong with this interaction, I genuinely don’t understand why you are in this group.

I am planning to take ENGL 3991 as an elective/GPA booster since it does not have a final exam.

As someone who is not an Arts or English major, I was wondering what you guys think about this course.

I’m getting back into the market after quitting about two years ago.

I had around 2 years of trading experience before, mostly Nasdaq, but I stopped when Trump got into office because the market felt crazy and I got frustrated.

What’s new right now? Anything major changed with the market, strategies, prop firms, or things I should know before jumping back in?

Free acc

I got a free account from one of the bigger trading firms. I don’t really want to say which one, but did anyone else get the same thing lmao? Wondering if this is some sort of scam… but its opens up to the legit platform
Context: I stopped trading a year ago after trying for two years :/

Has anyone gotten into a Canadian medical physics MSc program with a non-traditional background like biology/general science?

I’m doing a bio/general science degree with a few physics and math courses. However, I have healthcare/social service experience, but not a full physics major background.

I’m wondering whether any Canadian programs are even open to non-physics applicants.

Medical Physics: What are my chances of getting into medical physics in Canada with limited physics background?

I have an undergraduate background in General Science with a Biology major and a Mathematics minor. I also have a strong third- and fourth-year GPA and experience in social services, but I do not have extensive physics coursework.
Have students with limited physics experience or non-traditional science backgrounds been accepted before for this program? need some insights from a medical physics student: (

SLP prereq (canada)

My school doesn’t offer prerequisite courses needed for slp, and I’m having a hard time finding online options for the SLP prereqs, other than University of Alberta. Has anyone found any online courses they recommend that satisfy requirements like phonetics, language acquisition, phonology, morphology, syntax, or semantics?

Secwepemctsín

I’m taking an Indigenous studies course online and I’ve been thinking about learning the basics of Secwepemctsín, the Secwépemc language.

I’m Asian and not Indigenous to North America, so I want to approach this respectfully and as part of truth and reconciliation. I also hope to work in healthcare in the future, so I think learning basic greetings and cultural context would be meaningful.

I’m wondering what Indigenous/Secwépemc community members think about non-Indigenous people learning the language respectfully. Also, if anyone knows a fluent speaker, Elder, or teacher who offers beginner lessons, I’d love to connect and would of course pay for their time. :)

OL Paced

Wondering if the paced OL courses have not shown up on Moodle yet for the summer semester? I’m registered in three courses, but none of them are showing on Moodle.

Hey girlies! Looking for recommendations for short-girl-friendly pants that don’t need hemming or resizing. For reference, I’m 5’1. :)
