My baby is going to be a big brother *cue the tears*

My sweet boy just turned 3 a month ago and we are expecting in January. We’ve told him there is a baby in mommy’s belly, but when we talk about it he just points to his own belly and talks about his baby. Any good books or videos out there that may help him understand or prep for baby over the coming months? I also have cervical insufficiency with a cerclage so we are really trying to instill that he must be gentle with mommy and my belly.

24 hours post cerclage. Normal mucus? (and rundown of my experience)

Had my preventive cerclage placed yesterday at 14w5d. Doc said my cervix looked “beautiful” (very proud of this) and the procedure went just as we hoped. Had a rescue cerclage 3+ years ago and I think blacked it out cause I feel like this is all new to me. Also, I’m a very experienced labor nurse and still feel like my medical brain has just gone on vacation.

The cramping yesterday was WILD. I had two rounds of Indocin and 1000mg of Tylenol and still had to get a small dose of Dilaudid to tolerate it before I was discharged. Doc mentioned that she gets reports from patients that pain with earlier stitches is worse. Any repeat offenders have the same experience?

Bleeding has been very minimal. Some bright red bleeding immediately after the procedure that turned into pink spotting before discharge. Barely spotting at all today, but I did have a VERY LARGE amount of thick, sticky mucus that looked like a mucus plug when I wiped just a little bit ago. This seemed vaguely familiar to me from my last cerclage, but I don’t trust my memory. Did anyone else experience this post stitch?

Aside from the intense cramping and the 3-4 attempts to get my spinal placed, I think it went pretty well. Now we just keep our fingers crossed for a very uneventful next 6 months.

Outdoor Semi-Formal

Hubby rented a black tux with a black tie. Is this fancy enough next to him? Is the amount of white problematic?

Edit: invitation states Semi-Formal but also “tuxes and gowns welcome”

Wrapping up week 2 and having “accidents”. Someone help me cause my patience is almost nonexistent.

My son is going to be 3 in two months. We ditched diapers (except for nighttime) about 2 weeks ago. He very clearly knows that pee goes in the potty he will go on the potty several times a day, is even pooping on the potty and has had multiple accident free days. He will head to the bathroom and announce he needs to go 3 out of 4 times and then the fourth he will just pee all over the chair/floor/his pants. No effort to make it to the bathroom, no cues he needs to go. Just unexpectedly starts peeing and will not stop once he starts. Over the first week, I thought “it is what it is. He’s learning”. Now it seems he’s just willfully peeing himself if he doesn’t feel like heading to the bathroom and it’s driving me INSANE. Am I expecting too much from him?

Feeling hopeful with this progression 🤞🏻❤️

After a chemical last month, I’m hoping this is a good sign. 9, 10 and 11 dpo and the last was at 9pm. All pics were taken within testing timeframe.

▲ 2 r/Nanny

We have a wonderful nanny that watches our son 1-3 days a week depending on my work schedule. She’s been chatting with another family that is looking to do a sharing situation. Our nanny would want to host both kids (toddlers) in her home one day a week. Is it standard to pay the same hourly rate when doing this?
