How to get out of lease?
I’m currently going through an abusive relationship. Things have not gotten physically yet, but things are escalating very quickly. Our work schedules are opposite and we don’t see each other much, but every interaction we have turns into an argument and each argument is getting worse. We just moved into an apartment on our own less than a month ago. We are both on the lease. I’ve offered to take the lease over if he removes himself from it he said no, I’ve offered to leave and give it to him he said no, I offered to break the lease and he said no. He is very bad with his money and behind on alot of bills and I’m afraid he’s going to ruin my credit/rental history if I leave and go stay somewhere else. I don’t know what my options are anymore. Things are getting worse. I don’t have enough money anymore because he took it. I live in Texas btw.
