Are these NimH-Batteries ok to use?
Hello, I have a Dräger X-am 5600 multi-gas detector. The built-in battery is starting to get a bit weak. A new replacement is very expensive, so I bought this battery/rechargeable battery holder instead.
The installed battery pack consists of two NiMH rechargeable batteries connected in series (2.4 V). In the device manual, it says that the batteries must not be charged while using the battery holder. It also says that only a specific type of rechargeable battery should be used.
Is there any reason not to use other NiMH rechargeable batteries? They all have 1.2 V, don’t they? Also, why shouldn’t they be charged in the holder? In the end, it shouldn’t matter whether the cells are inside a battery pack or mounted in the holder, right?
Can I use the batteries shown in the picture and charge them inside the device?
