Invincible Variant origins....Part 2, Viltrumite Mark

Invincible Variant origins....Part 2, Viltrumite Mark

Hello and today I’m gonna be making origins for all invincible variants (including some forgotten, scrapped or fanmade Marks that need some light)

"I have to give up everything, for my goals, I must be"

INVINCIBLE

History: So his story starts like every other mark in the same vain that he slowly awakened his powers and eventually went into the hero gig, so things go largely the same as cannon until his confrontation with Omni man. After getting brutalized by his father (just like in cannon but this one can probably be an even worse version), he agrees but not out of agreement, instead it's out of necessity. All he asks is that his friends and family can live and so he starts out as a rookie soldier.

In his first days a soldier, he is reluctant and weak often being berated by his dad when conquering earth, later though he changes, he learns to adapt and becomes more ruthless despite the back of his mind telling him "he hates this, he hates this, he hates this'. After Earth is finally conquered, Mark is ordered to conquest other planets but others including Thraag notice that despite him being an excellent cadet, he is too nice, too reluctant despite trying to hide it. Eventually they take him but in order for him to be easily controlled, they brainwash him and show him deaths, etc which eventually takes it mental toll. Despite his broken mind, despite this battle in his mind between Earth and Viltrum, his humanity keeps him sane and so he while he does act more ruthless he is human thus meaning despite their efforts, they couldn't change his will (there is always a part of him wishing to help his people but he's given up)

Mark eventually becomes an elite soldier like Anissa, etc despite being mentally torn. He willingly gives up his humanity for viltrum so his family can live (and the viltrumites do give them a place). Eventually he is approached by Angstrom and he decides he will join his efforts to somehow save his world as Levy promised.

He seems solemn and quiet throughout all those panels because he's not thinking, just killing because he knows he's wrong but he rather it be their home than his home. He is willing to be evil for a necessary goal. (remove the lines of "I killed you before, I killed you again" as he doesn't enjoy this rather make him say "This didn't end well for last time.... just go NOW"

He out of all the marks is the strongest between them which is why the final 8 jumped him like in cannon and ate him first. (with sinister mark being a close rival) all as he was forced to catch up with other viltrumites, and deal with their brain washing. He also isn't cocky like most variants and actually took the training to heart as an elite among viltrum.

More so he is stronger due to mindset

Invincible Variants origins…. Part 1, Omni Mark

Hello and today I’m gonna be making origins for all invincible variants (including some forgotten, scrapped or fanmade Marks that need some light)

Rules:
And I will be using the Show’s variants BUT I’m using the comics context so for example:

Sinister mark never said he killed Omni man in the comics, meaning unless I want to include something like that. I will indeed stay faithful to the show.

I will specify changes to abilities as well like how tf any variant of mark can even kill Eve.

Now let’s get started!!!

Context: While this is mostly the comic variant of Omni mark being considered, just like in the show in my version I want him to be one of the 8 like in the show (as the comic killed him off stupidly) and Mark will have a longer time defending earth before Eve gets put down and Mark makes the reckless decision of staying in the hospital for more unique reactions

“I am the only one who can do this, I am the only one who can truly be”

INVINCIBLE

History:
His life starts off pretty much the same as our old mark, as his powers haven’t awakened and honestly his mindset is more human kinded thus he adapts to easy days and hanging with friends and his normal mom and superhero dad (Mark ever since knowing his dad was a hero kinda knew he was more special than other kids but didn’t effectively understand it until his life changed. (Btw unlike OG, he does date Eve earlier than her counterpart)

Even after awakening his powers, his story remains the same until the encounter with his dad, where he learns about where he really comes from. Surprisingly Mark does disagree and sees this as an act of betrayal and resents his father for even thinking of giving earth away like a coward and kills Omni man through a rush of adrenaline although he does collapse from shock right after.

Unlike his original where his mindset was more reflective on what he could’ve done better, Omni Mark starts to think about what the WORLD as a whole could do better and does consider what his dad said, “why is he fighting for a planet that is killing itself”. Everyone there is a call, invincible arrives, as Cecil says “there last line of defense is him”. Mark starts to think just like Rudy in the comics in the way, that the world is pathetic and needs to grow stronger, more perfect so that there is no more conflict but there is peace and he believes the only person who can handle that burden is himself, the only one who ever does anything.

He takes up Omni man’s colors and mantle because he believes he needs to represent the thing that destroyed them to rise up, he also believes Omni man lost the right to wear the face of what people thought was their hero. Mark gets started quickly, making plans and takes out multiple heroes and crime bosses (not all but extraordinary powerful ones like machine head, etc) including Cecil (not out of spite but out of need to showcase an example). As the new controller of the GDA he announces himself as ruler of earth. (And Eve plays along even offering to be Queen in a sense with him)

Some cheer, seeing him as a fix to their earth while most loathe him for conquering them. Mark despite this belief that HE is the hero not only destroys rebellions, he destroys the White House and many other governments in power. He even uses heroes as pawns, using fear to keep them with him. He meets his mother only a few weeks after his tyranny and she shuns him and insults him, resisting him and tells him “he is not a hero”. This thing sort of sets him off but he can’t bring himself to kill his mom rather he imprisons her and tortures her making sure to represent what happens when you betray the god who feeds you. (This is also why he says in show, I hate coming back to this place as that’s where it went down)

His next breaking point before he loses everything is his falling out with Eve and Will and many others as he realizes they planned a coup within his ranks, he loses it and kills them all but tries to reason with Eve in tears even yelling at her saying “why doesn’t she believe in him… why doesn’t any…”, but Eve tells him she can’t let him keep this on only and he can’t let her stop him. They fight and he kills her by accident in a fit of rage (punching her multiple times as he grabs her). As he believes Eve betrayed him that’s why he disliked thus why he will say like in the show “I will always hate you”

Rules: To kill Eve you have to destroy her brain otherwise her immortal rule still applies

After this event being betrayed by his
Father
Mother
Lover/friends

He gives up and loses all humanity going full force into being their emperor and he does good making cures, homes, etc through torturing robot and using his brain for unjust practices (kinda like Mohawk mark but in a more grotesque way) but… he kills, destroys homes and crumbles areas to force people to rebuild. He believes throughout all he is a hero and a savior people should believe in

In a way he is kind of like homelander, he wants people to see he is right, he is perfect and that he is greater than his father, than anyone. He wants to ensure the planet is protected, no matter the cost.

Eventually he ventures to other planets conquering more to enhance others as he believes if he can save the world, why not save everything as a whole

Role in invincible war: i want him to fight main timeline invincible (and put absolute BTA but I digress) and it’s meant to be about what makes a hero. Is it justice or perfection.

Omni mark is a man who revolted against the thing he became

▲ 4 r/BetterKimetsuNoYaiba+1 crossposts

By 4, I don’t mean that there are only 4 important or focused on characters, I simply mean that that's the amount of MAIN the story focuses on (or they are the ones you usually follow). Not sure if you guessed by now but the story will be much longer.

Reflection: WOW, I took way too long to post this. As you know life gets in the way of things but trust me, I’m now back to scheduled programming

Name: Kanao Tsuyuri
Age: 16 years old

Design: Kanao looks extremely different due to the fact she never actually got the chance to meet Shinobu and Kanae, rather she learned to live on her own, whether its hunting for her own food, stealing or even doing odd jobs (like being a mercenary, etc). She did everything she could if it meant survival.

Design: Unlike her original counterpart, she wouldn’t wear a hair clip rather her hair would be fully let down (its style is in between wild and well kept as she still takes care of herself but obviously she won’t have all the essentials to keep her hair as well as Nezuko, etc). She is a little bit taller going to 5’3 rather than 5’1.5 which makes her much closer to tanjiro in terms of height also she will. She’d wear the standard demon slayer corps outfit slightly bagged for free movement  (not as much as muichiro’s)but short sleeved (only covering her elbows) as she wears bandage wrappings around her wrist with one of her arms having a beaded bracelet on her wrist (reasons for why will be stated later). And she’d ditch the skirt for pants that are a little tattered yet clean (with similar boots to her OG one but black, purplish and pinkish in color.

Her sword will look like a mix of inosuke and Tanjiro’s (not in terms of blade though): The sword has a black and red design (same guard as tanjiro’s but hers would have no hilt and the sword would have no color it’d be colorless tint of whitish grey (due to the focused nature of her breathing style). It’d resemble Inosuke’s (sorta) not because it's serrated but because it has an adjustment as well, She sharpened her blade to point it thinning it to the size of a Wakizashi which gives her mid to close range fighting capabilities which is just as she likes it.

Physically: She is stronger in terms of all stats then her old counterpart but isn’t exactly as precise or smart when it comes to planning (as she often relies on street smarts and bruises her way through opponents)

TRIGGER WARNING:
This isn’t exactly Guts type dark but it is dark so if you are sensitive to that please skip and thank you

History: Kanao was born into a family already collapsing under poverty, stress, and resentment. Her parents struggled constantly to survive, drifting between unstable jobs and barely managing to keep food on the table. Over time, the pressure twisted the household into something toxic. Arguments became constant, and eventually the anger that filled the home began falling onto the children, especially Kanao. Her mother became emotionally cold and verbally harsh, often blaming Kanao for making their lives harder, while her father drank heavily to escape his own failures. Alcohol made him unstable and unpredictable. Some nights he acted almost caring, sitting quietly with his children or speaking softly as if he regretted everything, while other nights he exploded violently over nothing. Kanao never knew which version of him she would face. Even so, she still loved them. As a child, she clung to the few warm memories she had: being held when she was younger, hearing her father laugh once in a while, feeling like a family before everything fell apart. Those small moments kept her from fully hating them, even after the abuse worsened. As their situation grew more desperate, her parents slowly stopped seeing her as their daughter and started seeing her as another burden they could not afford. Arguments about money often turned into arguments about her, and eventually her father suggested getting rid of her entirely. Though neither parent could bring themselves to kill her, they still made a cruel decision and sold her. Kanao remembered being told they were going somewhere better, and part of her even felt hopeful, only to realize too late that she was being handed over like property and abandoned without a proper goodbye. Her father justified it as survival while her mother said nothing at all.
The labor camp she was taken to was brutal. Children and adults worked endlessly under violent overseers who punished mistakes severely. Hunger, exhaustion, and fear became normal parts of life. The weak were targeted constantly because suffering there worked like a chain: everyone passed their pain onto someone weaker than themselves. Kanao adapted quickly because she had no choice. She learned to fight not through training, but through survival. Every scar, punishment, and beating hardened her. She became aggressive, resilient, and frighteningly stubborn for someone so young, but beneath that toughness was still a lonely child who desperately wanted kindness. Then she met August. August was another child who had been abandoned by his family after failing to meet their expectations, and unlike everyone else there, he treated Kanao gently. He shared food with her when he could, spoke to her kindly, and made her feel human again instead of disposable. The two became inseparable. Together they dreamed about escaping one day and finding somewhere they could finally live freely. August made her a small beaded bracelet as a promise they would survive together, and Kanao treasured it more than anything she had ever owned. She became fiercely protective of him. Whenever others targeted him, she stepped in, and whenever punishments came, she often took them in his place despite his protests. Protecting August gave her purpose in a world that otherwise felt meaningless.
But good things rarely lasted long there. After standing up  to the overseers (due to being inspired by Kanao) too many times and because he was physically too weak, August was singled out for increasingly severe punishments. His health slowly deteriorated, and despite Kanao desperately trying to help him, sneaking him food and supporting him however she could, his body eventually gave out. When August died, something inside Kanao broke with him. Afterward, she stopped caring about punishment entirely. She barely spoke, barely reacted, and no longer seemed afraid of death. The overseers, disturbed by how emotionally empty she had become, pushed even harder to break her completely. Instead, they pushed her too far. One day, after years of abuse, grief, fear, and bottled rage finally reached their limit, Kanao snapped. All the pain she had endured exploded outward at once. She fought like a cornered animal, driven entirely by instinct and fury, tearing through the camp with overwhelming brutality. By the end, much of the camp was destroyed, several overseers were dead, and the survivors fled in terror. Kanao herself barely escaped alive. She collapsed in a forest far from the camp carrying nothing with her except August’s bracelet and the belief that trusting people only led to suffering.
From then on, she survived entirely on her own. She wandered from place to place, stealing when necessary, hunting for food, and fighting anyone or anything that threatened her. Without realizing it, she constantly trained herself. Her fighting style became wild, adaptive, and instinctive, built around survival rather than discipline. She learned to read danger instantly, counter attacks reflexively, and endure pain far beyond what most people could tolerate. But emotionally, she remained trapped in the past. Part of Kanao desperately wanted connection, purpose, and affection, yet another part feared those things completely. Losing August hurt so deeply that she convinced herself attachments were weakness. To protect herself, she buried her emotions beneath recklessness, aggression, and emotional distance. Even then, her humanity never fully disappeared. Whenever she saw people suffering the way she once had, she could not ignore it. She saved strangers while pretending she did not care and protected children instinctively because deep down she still remembered exactly what it felt like to be abandoned and powerless.
Eventually, her path crossed with the Demon Slayer Corps after she stole a blade from a fallen Demon Slayer. Fascinated by strength and needing a way to survive, she slowly found herself drawn into the Corps. Unlike most Demon Slayers, she did not initially join out of justice or revenge against demons. At first, she fought for money, survival, and the thrill of testing her strength, but over time fighting demons gave her something she had never truly had before: a reason to keep living. Though she rarely admits it, Kanao quietly searches for meaning, for the siblings she lost long ago, and for the feeling August once gave her: the feeling that she mattered to someone. At her core, Kanao is not cruel or heartless. She is someone who spent most of her life being treated as disposable, yet still cannot stop herself from wanting connection, protecting others, and hoping that somewhere in the world, she might finally find a place where she belongs.

Other details: She encounters her parents again. They are older, wealthy, and deeply depressed. When she asks about her siblings, they admit they sold them as well, and they are most likely dead. Despite all the anger and pain she carries, Kanao chooses not to kill them. She realizes death would be too easy. Instead, she leaves them alive, forcing them to live with their guilt and past actions. This is what I want to become a turning point for her character, a moment where she stops letting her family define her and begins to move forward. I don’t know exactly where this would be but it's definitely before the Infinity Castle replacement arc.

Character details:

Kanao is often very blunt, kinda like Zuko from Avatar where she just says what she thinks is fact regardless of other people's feelings.

At the start and midway of the series, her and Nezuko have rough tides as Kanao finds her annoying and Nezuko thinks Kanao is not ladylike at all and that she is impolite

Kanao often dreams about a life with her siblings and parents being together along with August being that guy next door that she hangs out with. She does shut down her emotions rather quickly and hates talking (barely muttering sentences, she rather wants to act like she forgets rather than experiencing her past

She hates physical touch immensely due to her swift and untrusting nature but somehow throughout the series she lets her guard down with Tanjiro eventually allowing her to connect with others even more deeply

She doesn’t see herself as human, rather she thinks she is just a carbon copy of one, that can’t experience anything and she genuinely believes being alone is better than connections. Eventually in the series (reflecting on the Tanjiro section), she and Tanjiro WILL have a moment while the others are asleep, with him pulling her out for a walk in the woods as he wants her to know how special he is. In this moment, I want no words more so just body language, tension and maybe sign language (she does indeed speak to tanjiro like this sometimes as she picked some up from Nezuko). During their moment, she tells Tanjiro that he is indeed human and that demon or not that won’t change and so he cries and as they both do express their own past to each other, they just look up at the stars. She eventually leaves first but can’t help but blush due to Tanjiro actually making her feel loved for once in her life.

Tanjiro doesn’t annoy her much as he sort of reminds her of August (she obviously isn't attracted to him because of just that but it is why she doesn’t dislike him at first glance)

Kanao is rough in nature and unlike her original counterpart, can make decisions and also has a battle hungry side like Inosuke

She is multi-talented (she can draw but her hand writing is awful,  and sing as well as some other stuff as well) and has better fist fighting capabilities than with a sword but uses it nonetheless

Despite her rough nature, she is extremely sensitive and ticklish (but don’t let anyone know that or she will get you)

Kanao depending on circumstances like seeing someone getting bullied, etc can make her experience PTSD and immense overprotection for those in need (she is unusually softer on kids but not too soft as she is cold to adults)

**Abilities:**

Kanao just like in the OG has amazing eyesight and memory which allows her to recall things in an extremely fast pace and coordinate with her teammates (and it also handicaps her as she often remembers her past vividly)

**Breathing Style:** She does not possess flower breathing rather by examining others and also nature she creates her own fighting style by harnessing all 5 senses

Instinctual breathing (or nature breathing whatever roles off the tongue more

First Form: Predator’s Step
(*Ichi no kata: Hoshokusha no Ayumi*)
Kanao lowers her stance and instantly accelerates using erratic footwork. Instead of moving in a straight line, she shifts unpredictably like a hunting animal

Sense focus: sight and instinct

Visual:
Dust and pale streaks spiral around her feet while her movements almost “skip” across the ground. The thing would look like multiple spiritual wolves running around a target

Second Form: Fang Rend
(*Ni no kata: Kiba Saki*)
A rapid barrage of close-range slashes using her shortened wakizashi-like blade. Every strike is compact, vicious, and aimed at vital weak points.

Sense Focus: Touch

Kanao feels minute vibrations through weapon clashes and movement. She also senses the vitals in a persons body
Visual:
Thin gray-white thrust coming from all sides

Third Form: Silent Cicada
(*San no kata: Seizen*)
Kanao suppresses her presence and breathing until she becomes almost undetectable before striking suddenly from blind spots. This is almost passive for her.

Sense Focus: Hearing

Visual:
Silver airflow and drifting leaves quietly move around her body. And she turns into a clear fog

Fourth Form: Beast Fang Spiral
(*Roku no kata: Jūga Rasen*)
A spinning rush attack combining rapid rotations and savage close-range slashes. Her shortened blade allows for unnatural rotational speed.

Sense Focus: Balance & Spatial Awareness

Visual:
A vortex of pale slash marks, dust, petals, and crimson sparks.

Fifth Form: Beast’s Awareness
(*Jū no kata: Kemono no Satchi*)
Kanao sharpens her sense of smell and environmental awareness to an inhuman degree, allowing her to perceive emotions, injuries, fear, bloodlust, and hidden movement through the faintest changes in scent and atmosphere. Rather than simply “tracking” an enemy, she instinctively reads the entire battlefield like a wild predator sensing danger in the forest.

Sense Focus: Smell

Combat Usage:
Kanao often closes her eyes briefly while using this form, relying entirely on instinct and sensory perception instead of vision.
Because of this, opponents feel as though she is reacting to attacks before they even occur.
Visual: The air around her becomes hazy with pale silver mist while faint animal-like eyes briefly appear within the flowing currents. Scents are visualized as drifting ribbon-like trails only she can perceive.
This last form is called

Final Form: Natural Law, Hunter’s Dominion

This is unique because she has 2 ways of utilizing this skill

Beast mode: She abandons defense entirely and lets go of her 5 sense fighting on instinct and strength alone. She attacks aggressively and relentlessly.

Wandering wolf: She centers herself and focuses on defense thus heightening her senses, allowing her body to react without conscious thought, almost like ultra instinct

These are so far all the forms I got so far buuut… in total there is 10 forms

Reflection: Tbh this wasn’t my favorite (I just love Nezuko) and I tried to express Kanao character in a different take, sorry if it’s overly grim (I promise this is the only time there will be something like this)

But Kanao needs it especially since she never met Shinobu or anyone tbh. She needs too feel alone and powerless then find family (even if hers is gone)

Nezuko is her found sister, Tanjiro is her lover and ubayashiki is almost like a mentor to her (as she sees almost no intent in him, and asks him about stuff throughout the story)
