Shoutout/Trivia This scene in episode 8 always reminds me of Crisis*

You know, the one with the large mechanical contraption** that Shroud is so proud of.

* DC Comics's Crisis on Infinite Earths, that is. So much so that I always find myself quoting the AntiMonitor as he struck down Supergirl*** with his eye blasts.

"You turn in battle, girl? That is a *fatal* mistake."

-

**: Looks a bit like Gohma from OoT, no?

***: I know technically BB's more Mary Marvel than SG with her powers being magically based. Just a random thought.

Nice cover if a bit deceiving (Justice League Unlimited #17)

Hal is nowhere to be found in the actual issue. A nice callback to José Luis García López classic art from the 1982 DC Style Guide, though.

Read Bring Down The House

Fantastic art and coloring by Javier Rodriguez. I didn't know him and his ability to visually tell a story has left me impressed.

As for the writing--- Did I mention the extraordinary work of Rodriguez on illustrating duties?

(Dispatch) Synergy mechanic

Hi!

I've been playing Dispatch and one of the things I like best about it is well, the actual dispatching. If you have played the game, you know that certain pairs of characters achieve synergy (three tiers, adding an additional 5% to mission success) as they start to team up, ie, whenever sent together in successful missions.

It has been a while since I read my 3e book but I think in M&M this would be covered with the Teamwork advantage? And is it limited to one teammate initially, right?

Thoughts on Secret Empire

Just finished reading it, some points that come to mind,

* I *really* should have read Civil War II before. Carol is a key player here and a lot of her motivations and insecurity are referred to originating from CW II.

* It was ballsy as hell making 616 Cap a n*zi for as long as it did. (yes, Hydra. But Hydra = n*zis.).

* As the story progressed and Steve became more and more detached and tyrannical, he felt... oddly weak. Self defeated.

* I don't think KobikGoodSteve can really be effective as an image of Cap onwards. I know Marvel would never agree to it, but he should have retired.

* The implication that the axis won WW II in 616? Scary but I think it works? Also super ballsy.

* The scene in Secret Empire Omega where a kid is afraid of KobikGoodSteve? Darn. Chilling.

* The event itself was way too long and had lots of things that I didn't quite follow since all I read before it was the Captain America: Steve Rogers book, as regards the Marvel books of that time.

* Sam Wilson as Cap was excellent. I think he should have become the one and only Cap and KGS become some sort of advisor.

More as I dwell on it. All in all, an excellent and thought provoking storyline that proved eerily prescient on the rise of DT45/DT47.
