Just overweight. It is such an incredible NSV to see this today. I hope you all are seeing or have seen the NSVs today
Yarn is from Hedgehog fibers Glass Slipper merino DK. It's so soft and easy to work with the pullover is a free pattern from them called Carraig Vest. I often knit up items and then not in love but this one was a fun and quick knit.
This is my breakfast and I hope I always eat this little. 😊
Tired of running around looking for my calcium and made myself a little carrier that attaches to my cups. I call it my cup's purse. I can put all three calcium chews and my two multivitamins in it for the day.
This photo was the beginning of it all. I started on GLPs before I stepped on the scale at 233# I had to be much more than that I just refused to get on the scale. Fast forward to losing about 40# the. The note from my insurance company that they weren't covering anymore
January I decided to have gastric surgery. End of March I did and so happy for the decision. I am now a total of 60# lighter and only just beginning.
A quiet thing nobody tells you after VGS:
when your portions shrink, your priorities start changing too.
I used to look at healthy food and think, “that’s expensive.”
Now I look at it differently.
If I’m eating less, I want what I do eat to matter.
Better ingredients.
Less processed stuff.
More protein.
More real food.
More intention.
Not perfection. Not rabbit food and sadness wrapped in kale. 🌿
Just realizing my plate got smaller, so quality suddenly feels more important than quantity.
Honestly, it’s kind of wild how surgery changed my relationship with food beyond just weight loss. It made me think about nourishment instead of just fullness.

I’ve been thinking a lot about where historical fiction is going lately and wanted to get some reader perspective.
I’m working on a Southern Gothic series that blends dual timelines with a light supernatural thread. The past storyline focuses on women whose stories were buried or rewritten, while the present timeline follows someone uncovering what actually happened and realizing the accepted version of history is not the truth.
The haunting element is less about horror and more about memory. The idea that places hold onto what happened there, especially when it was never acknowledged.
I’m curious how that lands with readers who enjoy historical fiction.
Do you find yourself drawn to stories that stay fully grounded in realism, or do you enjoy when there’s a subtle supernatural layer woven in
What makes a dual timeline feel satisfying instead of distracting
And what keeps you invested in a historical fiction series beyond the first book
Would love to hear what’s working for you lately and what isn’t
Lost 40# glp before the sleeve close to 5 weeks ago. And I have come to realize my fusion multivitamin chew is what's making me nauseous. Possibly the iron. Has anyone gone through this and if so what was the solve ?
I took measurements before surgery than two weeks after than a month after. I was feeling kinda down I really haven't seen the scale move and it's only the first month after. But lo and behold the measurements show a lot. Made me happy while the scale almost made me cry
