My hatelove with Deus Ex 1 (rant)

After many, many rounds of Human Revolution and Mankind Divided, I finally tried the first Deus Ex. It crashed, so I refunded it. Years later, I tried it again this time with Revision and it works.

Ive always loved solving problems in unorthodox ways, and the Deus Ex games are great for that. In every playthrough of Human Revolution or Mankind Divided, I discovered a new path, and I was really excited to understand the giant sandbox.

I know old games are an experience you have to understand the world. It’s not just a walkthrough like today’s games. But at some point, at an age with responsibilities, I just want to relax and not have to know every corner of Hong Kong.

In a world full of augmentations and a hero full of nanomachines, I expected at least an interactive map or at least somewhat called a interactive map. He should be able at least to scan the area. I like that you have to pay attention to details and find codes yourself, but at some point, you end up with a bunch of codes on paper, trying each one until you just use the multitool. I don’t know if it’s a Revision feature, but it would help a lot if codes you have already found would be pinned in the corner when you have to type them like in the sequel games.

I would really love to explore the areas, but at some point it just gets annoying. I’m 18 hours in, and just inside the ship, finding the weak spots, Ive already lost in the previous missions a few augmentations and cant find them. Yeah, that happens thats why I will do a second playthrough.

I just hope that if they ever overework the remaster and not presenting us "the barely added a few mods" rework like THQ Nordic did with Gothic 1, I would be really grateful if they made it more accessible to a wider audience.

Im from Europe and most of the myths about European expats are true (in my case) and some not.

Im Posting this, because in the Company ive worked, there were a lot of rumors. Im sure some people here creating also a lot of rumors and i want to clear it.

I had a contract in the oil industry. I came with experience: 4 years as an oil rig worker and 6 years with a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, and I also worked in the petroleum industry. I came to a lot of conclusions, and I want to list some of them:

- I get more money than my coworkers:
I was really the best-paid employee in my team. They set me an offer that was really low, but I set the bar much, much higher and they agreed. I told them in the interview that I wasn't relying much on this job it would be nice, but I was currently happy where I was. So there was no pressure, and I could set the salary much higher without any regrets.

- I'm lazy or a workaholic?
No. I'm just doing my job and leaving as soon as the time is up. Sometimes I get the feeling that people think I'm a superhuman or even expect something great from me. In fact, I'm not smarter or dumber than anyone else. I can just rely on my experience. My coworkers have outsmarted me many times, and this is the reason why working in a team is important. You don't have one universal employee; you have a team with a lot of combined experience.

- Life is much easier than back home:
In fact, this is true. Everything is cheaper here and I mean really everything. People assume Europe is the golden place, but in my opinion, the current generation is just living off the wealth that the previous generation created. Now it's already crumbling because the wealth is gone, and we have to live with this shattered situation.

Just my own opinion now:
I can't work with an Indian supervisor. I'm sorry, Indians, but the mindset of these people is hilarious to me.

My current situation:
I've quit my contract and moved back home for personal reasons. As soon as things get back to normal, I'll be happy to move back to the Gulf states.

Did I hit a calf slicer while getting choked from back control?

Hey guys, it’s as simple as the title says. My opponent had me in back control, and somehow I wrapped his left leg with my left leg, used my right leg to straighten my left leg, and ended up applying a calf slicer. I know it’s hard to understand and even harder to explain. I asked AI and watched some YouTube videos, but I can’t find the name of this version of the calf slicer. I’ve done this twice now, but I don’t know how and I’d like to understand the mechanics behind it.

Preparation for 1 Month Vacation in Tbilisi

Hey guys,

I plan to stay in Georgia for the entire month of August, and I'm almost done with my checklist. I've used Google for most things, but I would really like to get a local's opinion on a few points.

  1. Healthy food: Is it possible to eat healthy outside (restaurants, bakeries, street food), or is cooking by myself clearly the better option?
  2. Meat: Where is the best place to buy good meat? (Supermarket chain, local market, butcher?)
  3. Budget for eating out: How much would I need to pay for three meals per day if I eat out regularly (not fancy restaurants, just normal local places)?
  4. Transport: I know there is an Uber alternative here, but I forgot the name (is it Bolt or Yango?). Is it expensive to use it for daily trips? Or would you recommend using the public transport system (metro/bus)? Keep in mind that I am mainly here for Judo practice, so I won't be doing many sightseeing trips.
  5. Money: If I bring enough cash, let's say around 3000 GEL for the whole month, would that be sufficient for food, transport, and small gifts? Or should I definitely get a credit card as a backup on top of my debitcard?

Thank you very much for your help!

Lost my first tournament and I feel completely down

Lost my first tournament and I feel completely down.

That's it. I felt totally powerless. My coach told me I don’t have a system, I’m just playing the reactive part. I can’t deny it, it’s true, but for some reason I can’t start aggressively. It’s like I have to switch a button that doesn’t exist. I’m not quitting this sport, but as long as I don’t become more aggressive, I’m aware it’s never going to get better.

I’m not sure why I’m writing this down. Somehow I wish a magical reply would appear and change my mindset. In the end, I just need to tell it to some people.

Training in different countries

Hey guys,
I've decided to take my Judo to the next level and train in Georgia for a few months. I'm just curious, based on your experience, what were the ups and downs of your journey outside of your country
