Elective C-section Scheduling

Scheduling a C-section after a very traumatic VD. Live an hour away from the hospital and have no interest in going into labour. My doctor highly recommended waiting until 39 weeks due to benefits to baby but said I could book after 38 weeks so ended up scheduling 38+3 as my gut is saying to do it earlier. I’m also 42.

How to reconcile the doctors advise (which I give a lot of credit to!) and my own gut feeling! The 38+3 also works better for us for doctor preference who is on call.

Buy or wait - Prime Day Deals

There is a pretty good deal on the Braun Expert Silk 5 in my region for prime day deals. Think is I won’t be able to use it until Christmas time at earliest 🤰 should I buy now and hold or just wait and hope
For equally good deals at black Friday?

IPL and prior skin cancer + Braun home model recco

I was looking at the latest Prime Dels for the Braun models (and suggestion between the Braun IPL, Laser Hair Removal for Women & Men, Skin i-Expert IPL 7 vs Braun Silk-Expert Pro 5 IPL PL5157).

They have a warning to not use if you have had past skin cancer - I was recently diagnosed with basal cell on my chest but was going to use it for my biking arm pits and legs…. Is IPL out for me because of my basal cell? Could IPL cause future cancer?

Can this arm chair ever be clean again?

This wonderful armchair has become available on marketplace for free. After a few kids it’s showing its love however. They have already tried the little green machine on it (removing the stain in the first photo but photo 1 is likely still wet so might have dried stained again). Do you think it still has a chance with a lot of elbow grease or is the damage done? I’ve been able to rehab a lot of buys in my life but usually they either have a removable cover - or they are not cream colored!

Edit to add it’s 70% poly, 30% cotton.

Gender predictions? Team green

We are team green but starting to get way more impatient about gender! I’m curious what everyone’s guesses are based on nub and skull theory. Included 12W and 20W scan.

Ghosted by Amazon - Amazon Student Prime

I applied for Amazon student prime. Sent the required document, they noted it was approved and asked if I wanted a yearly or monthly subscription. I said yearly.

I never heard back. No prime. Two days later I respond again asking if they got my response. Nothing. Next day I use the chat. They say they will escalate wait 24 hours. Nothing. Next day I chat and ask for status, get a it’s been escalated wait 24-48 hours. Nothing. Call after 48 hours: they say it will be activated that evening. Nothing. Call the next day - back to escalation wait 24-48 hours. It’s been over a week and a half…. I am taking it I’m not getting student prime? It doesn’t give me the option to join online after the validation - only gives me the full price prime offer….

Scheduled C-section - OB recommendations Vancouver (St Paul’s or Burnaby) [BC]

Anyone have any OB recommendations that deliver out of St Paul’s or Burnaby that do really nice C-sections? I delivered my first at LGH and it was a very traumatic experience for my husband and myself and nursing care was subpar . I adore my OB but she only delivers out of LGH. We are going to do a scheduled C-section and are considering delivering elsewhere for trauma reasons but only want to consider this if I can find an amazing OB who does pretty C-sections!

Anyone have recommendations? We can’t do BCWs as out of our catchment.

Which baby monitor to get [BC]

Didn’t use a baby monitor for babe 1 as we had a smaller house. Now pregnant with #2 and looking at options as in a bigger house. Preference is a video one that doesn’t broadcast over wifi (worried about security).

Any recommendations?

Pregnant - Visiting friend who has cough and her toddler just had to go to the hospital with fever and rash [BC]

So my OB is closed and I’m trying not to be a total panic case but I met up with a friend for the long weekend who is also pregnant - she has a wicked cough (ugh wish she told me before hand!) and just found out her toddler had a rash yesterday and today had to go to the hospital with fever and rash.

She left her son yesterday and doesn’t have a fever or rash but should I not be concerned she could be contagious before showing symptoms? Her toddler isn’t on the trip with us. Should I cut my losses and end the trip early to be safe?

I have a miracle pregnancy (19 weeks) after lost of IVF and this is likely my last shot at adding a sibling to our family.

What is the guidelines for pasteurized stracciatella (semi soft cheese) in pregnancy? [BC]

I did a quick google before ordering a stracciatella tomato sandwich at a reputable restaurant and it said as long as it was pasteurized it would Be safe. Confirmed it was pasteurized. Now a quickly look at the Canada.ca guidelines it says to avoid semi soft cheese even if pasturized.

I’m so frustrated with myself - Why did I even chance it? But I did a search and what I thought was a reputable source said it was fine! Which one is it? What have you been advised? I’ll Probably avoid going forward for peace of mind…

Debating between these two units - the Narwal is almost half the price which is a big win for us.

Will only be used on one level with mostly hardwood floors and two area rugs. Have a large, long hair shedding dog and a toddler.

Will be buying from Costco.

Is the Roborock really worth the additional $350 + taxes?
