I think I have doubts about how sex between trolls occurs.

I know how reproduction happens. Basically, they vomit into a bucket and deliver it to the mother grub.

However, sometimes in the epilogue and even in Hive Swap, it's implied that they have sex recreationally. This doesn't make sense because it implies they have genitals, which would be completely useless if their reproduction doesn't occur through those genitals.

This also raises questions for me about what's happening down there. Do they have different genitals between males and females? If all the genitals are the same, then why do they use different pronouns and have different sexes?

On this page:

https://homestuck.com/007907

Aranea says that trolls reproduce in a bisexual way, which implies that they must have two sexes? Otherwise, reproduction would be homosexual. This raises even more questions for me. What is the purpose of having multiple sexes if trolls reproduce independently of sex?

Edit: You're all a bunch of horny people. When I made my theory post about the Heir class, nobody cared, but as soon as I talk about sex between trolls, everyone comes to give their opinion LOL

Is there anywhere I can see illustrations for the epilogues?

All I found was this: https://mspfa.com/?s=42882&p=1

While I have some creative reservations about how some characters are drawn, the work is very good. However, the Meet route is incomplete and Candy:

I'm not much of a reader, so if there's anywhere I can see illustrations of the Candy Route in sequential order without getting spoilers, please let me know.

Opinions on the epilogue meat

I've already made my thoughts about Jane very clear here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/homestuck/comments/1t4g6m3/comment/ok2a7l4/

I personally think it would be better if the authors explained better why she's acting this way. The way it's presented makes everything seem very abrupt.

And another thing I stopped to think about is how selective the intelligence of the people of Earth-C is.

It's said that they know the history of the troll empire,

but they don't seem to know the history of the ancient civilization that fled from ambulances in North America.

Not to mention their obsession with Jake's ass.

If there's one moment that I found somewhat funny, it was when Jade showed she had advanced knowledge in science and economics, which I thought was out of character for her because she had never given any indication of that in the comic. Until something hit me with the subtlety of a brick: she had given a hint of that in the comic. I just forgot because Homestuck is certainly a sequence of events.

However, if I had to guess which character has advanced knowledge of economics, it would certainly be Dave. Because while the children were playing with alchemy, he was casually annihilating the economy of an entire civilization (even if that only happened with Terezi's help).

I really thought Roxy's discovery about her sexuality was quite unexpected (just like everything else in Homestuck). I wouldn't say it bothered me; I was just caught off guard and I don't really have strong opinions about it. All non-binary people are welcome to express their opinions.

I loved the scenes with John and Terezi, although I think the connection between them only happened because they were both very emotionally vulnerable, rather than because of genuine love.

The page that broke my heart the most was page 37

Ironically, I never found Rose and Kanaya's relationship that interesting.

I think it's cute, but I wouldn't say it's exactly my favorite couple, but damn, page 37 was heartbreaking.

Page 39 was also a strong contender. I also never really liked the Dirk and Jake relationship; in fact, I'd say I didn't like it at all. Because Dirk is really bad to Jake. Now I see that his distancing himself from Jake must have been one of the greatest acts of heroism Dirk ever committed in the entire comic. My goodness. I never thought I'd feel so bad for Jake.

Thoughts on page 43: Please, someone throw Karkat out the window.

Other thoughts on page 43: aww ^w^

Conclusion: Despite this story accelerating at every possible speed bump, I found the reading very good and engaging. However, the characters' suffering, Jane's behavior, and Dirk's regression in character development make me completely understand why many people hated the story. Especially considering that this is just a hook for Homestuch^2, which also wasn't very well received, at least not before becoming beyond canon.

Next, I will read the fanfiction that elaborates on what would have happened to John if he had acted like a normal human being and had taken a piece of candy instead of a piece of raw meat.

The idea of the heir class changing its aspect isn't so nonsensical after all.

As far as I know, there's no consensus within the community regarding what the Heir class does.

I've seen people say that this class is guided by its aspect, which makes sense because sometimes when John uses his wind powers he does so involuntarily, like when he puts out the fire in the village or when he puts out that other fire on the entire planet. However, in other instances, he seems to be actively controlling his powers, as in Collide.

However, at another time I saw this:

https://homestuckexamination.tumblr.com/post/168161798039/role-of-the-innovator-the-heir-those-born-with

This made sense to me instantly because:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inheritance_(object-oriented_programming)

André Hussie has played around with computer science concepts in HomeStuck for a while now. To me, that would make sense.

For those who didn't understand: in computer science there's this concept called inheritance.

In simple terms, it allows you to extend the functionalities of a class and modify its behavior.

And in a way, that's what John does.

Homestuck is about these children trapped in a time loop that they can't fight against, or else they doomed the timeline.

However, in the end, John frees his friends in a way (unless you read Meet).

John may not have done it because of his god-tier powers per se, but I strongly believe that class and aspect are given based on a character's role in the story and not just personality traits.

That said: John changed the course of history. He gave freedom to his friends.

As a side note: I think the Maid class might have been a better choice for the character, but because he's a guy, he ended up with the Heir class.

To begin, I would like to state that I am Brazilian and that I only started using the internet around 2014 and only read Homestuck more recently.

With that in mind, obviously I didn't have exactly the same cultural background that you had when you read Homestuck.

With that in mind, there were many things that I only understood by watching video essays on YouTube, such as:

Meenah speaks in a way that references the speech patterns of Black people in the United States. I had no idea about that. Here in Brazil, depending on the region, we have different accents, but nothing like that.

And Gamzee being a reference to Juggalos. I didn't even know what a Juggalo was, I'd never heard of it anywhere on the internet.

And I'm also sure I didn't catch many of the insults. Like, here in Brazil, the word with an R doesn't have the same weight as it does there. As far as I understand, it's just considered very impolite, even by Brazilian standards. Anyway, it's basically fallen out of use. I still wonder what the other insults are that I didn't understand and that so many people complain about.

Okay. I'd like to know what kind of internet user stereotype Eridan should represent. Like, by current standards and based on my social context, he'd be the neo-Nazi of the Discord server. However, the fact that Homestuck was made over 10 years ago makes me wonder how wrong things were already starting to go.

I'm currently reading the epilogues. I'm reading Meat, and ironically, one of the things that has bothered me the most so far isn't Dirk becoming a villain or even Jane going crazy.

It's the fact that the characters live in a post-scarcity society and Jane wants to implement capitalism to "fix the economy."

Okay, I know Jade explains that Jane plan is flawed and blah blah blah, but the economic crisis hasn't been explained yet.

I'm currently on page 26 of Meat, and the economic crisis that Jane wants to avoid (even if in a flawed way) isn't explained.

Will this be explained later in Meat or Candy? Or does Andrew Hussie simply expect us to accept it?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly the greatest socialist or communist who ever lived (far from it), but the idea of implementing an ideology like capitalism in a post-scarcity society, just under the pretext of avoiding an economic crisis that is never explained, is driving me a little crazy.

As a side node, I also think that Jane's racism towards the trolls could be developed in a more interesting way.

Like, they literally have a caste capable of reading and manipulating minds, others with incredibly powerful telekinetic abilities, and others with the power of an army of bodybuilders, but what she's really concerned about is the empire of a space fascist that hasn't existed for about 5000 years.

I know it's a critique/satire of Trump, but I feel that certain things could have been better developed.

As a side note, I think it would have been funny if she had tried to normalize anti-tank artillery as a common strife weapon.

I would also like to say that I am not American, so I may have missed some things regarding the socio-political context.

Hello. I'm thinking of buying a Retroid Pocket Flip 2 and would like some information. First, I'm from a country where this console is quite expensive. With that in mind, I'd like to know about its durability. How durable is it? Is the Pocket Flip 5 more durable? I really prefer a console with a flip screen. Thank you in advance for your attention.

The question is pretty self-explanatory, but here's an elaboration:

Let's suppose your OC dies somehow.

Then their dream self awakens on their respective moon.

As we know, the damage will begin to transfer to the dream self until someone kisses the dead body of the OC or they die.

So what do you think happens if the dream self reaches the circular slab before the damage is completely transferred and lies there until their death?
