CMV: Feminism needs to recognise and grow to support men's issues, in order to successfully dismantle the Patriarchal system of society.

As the title says, I think the success of feminism can be seen as the point where society no longer adheres to patriarchy or any of its core ideals. Patriarchy, of course, is built around strong gender roles where men and women are assigned duties, responsibilities and stereotypes to explain why they are assigned such. It is also built around violent repression of anyone that does not fit this stereotypical role.

"But misandry doesn't exist it's actually just negative effects of misogyny."

Misandry: Hatred or prejudice against men.
Prejudice: The act or state of holding unreasonable preconceived judgments or convictions.

By definition, a patriarchy assigns men a role, with aspects to it both positive and negative, and these have no basis besides gender. This should be enough to prove that misandry in patriarchy does exist, but I'll show further.

Patriarchy supports emotional abuse of young boys, to make them believe that showing softness or pain is weak and unmanly. This stunts significant emotional development, and leads to issues further in life like what is referred to as the male loneliness epidemic. This is not just a case of feeling lonely, but being unable to connect significantly with friends and family because that feeling has been literally stunted through abuse.

Patriarchy further pushes young boys to become more violent as a show of strength. Military ability is glorified, sexual success is seen as a sign of dominance. Success as a man is tied inherently to competition, whether it be victory in sport or war, or whether it be in abundance of sexual partners, money, political power, other resources. Those who lack the competitive drive, the drive to fight and take from others are not fit for their role and hated.

None of this occurs due to misogyny alone. These are independent stereotypes built for that gender role. Notably, these are the exact opposite of the stereotypes women face. Weakness - Strength, Emotion - Logic, Submissiveness - Dominance, etc. While this creates the error that men's issues exist due to misogyny, such things lack the critical fact that women's issues may also be described as occurring due to stereotypes about men.

Women work in the kitchen because it's men's responsibility to earn, women care for children because men are not soft, women do not go to war because men are strong and it is their duty. All of these can be described in opposing manners. However, one must realize that both statements, though independent, are simultaneously held as true by a patriarchy. Neither form of prejudice is more or less real.

Further proof of this is in present times. Countries like UK, Switzerland, Canada etc are placed higher than most countries in terms of gender equality. However, these are also countries without significant laws for male victims of rape, Swiss laws support mandatory conscription for men and impose fines on a gendered basis for refusal, Canada lacks Domestic Violence shelters for men.

Special mention to Canada, where Earl Silverman, a male abuse survivor, ran out of funds trying to maintain a domestic abuse shelter for men. he did not receive sufficient help from the government or feminist groups, and later committed suicide. This is in Canada, and not Afghanistan. Feminist groups exist, women's rights are known and understood, and male survivors of domestic violence still have nowhere to go.

If misogyny caused men's issues, then less misogyny would mean less issues. More feminism would mean less men's issues. And that IS somewhat true. but the difference in reduction is so great, where modern, developed countries don't acknowledge a crime as gruesome as rape or the 17th ranked country in terms of gender equality considers it right to violate a person's consent on the basis of gender, it cannot be the primary explanation.

"Even if some level of discrimination exists, male victims are too rare for it to matter."

In this regard, I quote a comment I made recently:

>Firstly I'll say that any possible resource I link will be downplaying the rate of male victims. They have many more factors which discourage them from coming forward than women (I am not saying all women come forward, I know that rape against women IS underreported, I'm simply comparing that men are less likely to do so because of more reasons). The numbers I produce underreport men that are victimised.

>That said, I'll first link this study in the US, which checks for sexual violence and intimate partner violence amongst men. However, it establishes that

>"About one in three men experienced contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime."

>which is a number that corresponds near perfectly to women's experience of violence from domestic partners, which is also roughly one in three. However, domestic violence against men is less reported. There are also few shelters and resources from them. I will also point to Earl Silverman, who set up the only privately funded domestic abuse shelter for men in Canada. Earl died by suicide on April 26, 2013, shortly after selling the shelter due to bankruptcy and ridicule.

>Now that we have established men can be victims at rates which are sufficient for legal action to be taken, even with severe underreporting, I will post this article where a researcher, Lara Stemple, who works with the Health and Human Rights Project at UCLA, went through multiple past surveys about such violence against men. This is a woman, in case you suspect further bias. Now a quote from the article:

> "Stemple parses several other national surveys in her new paper, “The Sexual Victimization of Men in America: New Data Challenge Old Assumptions,” co-written with Ilan Meyer and published in the April 17 edition of the American Journal of Public Health. One of those surveys is the 2010 National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, for which the Centers for Disease Control invented a category of sexual violence called “being made to penetrate.” This definition includes victims who were forced to penetrate someone else with their own body parts, either by physical force or coercion, or when the victim was drunk or high or otherwise unable to consent. When those cases were taken into account, the rates of nonconsensual sexual contact basically equalized, with 1.270 million women and 1.267 million men claiming to be victims of sexual violence."

>This corresponds quite well to the feminist idea (this is not sarcasm, I am a feminist) that women and men are the same in terms of mental capacity and awareness. With that, there is no reason to believe that only men would commit such crimes. Obviously, socialisation exists, and much sexual violence is a crime of opportunity where having strength plays a role.

Separately, there is good reason to believe that male victims are underreported, likely more so than female victims.

Here is a study dealing with barriers to help seeking amongst male victims of female perpetrated intimate partner violence. It lists the common reasons but the most common listed reasons include stuff like:

>concerns that their partner would falsely accuse them or get revenge in some way (47.8%), concerns that the service provider/resource would blame them (47.5%), and that they did not think they would be believed or that the service provider/resource would be biased against them (46.8%)

Notably, there exists a concern about their partner's testimony being believed off of gender and concerns that they would be blamed. Women are, of course, also blamed in such situations but the nature of the issue is different.

These victims are concerned that a) as is present in female victims, they would be blamed for enticing the rapist but also additionally b) as is unique, that they would instead be considered the rapist or perpetrator of abuse.

Another factor is that they have concerns of a) as is present in all victims, not being believed, but also b) a unique factor, that the service provider would be biased against them in specific due to gender.

Apart from this, one can also point out that male rape is unrecognised in many countries, that it isn't considered real by many people INCLUDING prominent "feminists" (in quotes since this is not feminism), and if real is considered too small to be relevant. Clearly, multiple factors here are completely unique that contribute to further underreporting. This is merely logical. If person A has 5 reasons to not say something, and person B has 7 (including the previous 5), then person B will be less likely to speak.

This combined with the previous referred studies, and clearly the understanding that men and women are psychologically equivalent, neither superior nor inferior, must lead us to the conclusion that men are victimised in numbers that are at least significantly close to that of women.

"These laws are setup by men and thus it is men's responsibility."

Perhaps the most shameful and disgusting excuse of all. To state the obvious, it doesn't matter the gender demographics of lawmakers. If black lawmakers made segregation laws, it doesn't make it a black issue, it is still fundamentally racist.

Second, many of the nations in question are DEMOCRATIC. Women and men get equal votes and responsibilities. If a law is passed and accepted in society, then that means that an equal number of women are accepting that law. As many women as men are accepting that their fathers, brothers and sons can be raped and find no legal recourse higher than assault, if they are believed. They are accepting and tolerating laws that conscript these men, that ignore their issues, that have few resources for their abuse, that is actively FIGHTING those who are trying to treat the issue. Nobody is absolved from blame.

Finally, lawmakers mean nothing. As there have existed women who have passed on misogynistic beliefs to their sisters and daughters and taught them to live according to the patriarchy, even so there exist men who pass law upon their brothers and teach their sons to live according to the patriarchy. This is toxic masculinity, which is just another term for internalized misandry. To belief that one's own self is undeserving of consent or the right to refuse is surely hating oneself. Internalized misandry, internalized patriarchy is the only proper term here. They are working against themselves.

To consider oneself a feminist is to believe in gender equality. Rape laws that do not recognise the rape of one gender are not equal. Resource distribution for violence and abuse that ignores one gender is not equal. Conscription is not equal. Many, many laws and societal beliefs are not equal. It is the moral and ideological responsibility of all feminists to work towards our stated cause for gender equality. To avoid working towards that purpose just so that one gender doesn't benefit is clearly and glaringly a sexism issue. A person who ignores these issues is going against the feminist ideal and cannot be considered one.

Furthermore, if these issues are ignored, this means patriarchal ideals will still remain alive and patriarchal social structures will remain, even if they primarily affect one gender. And as long as these issues are not acknowledged and eradicated, patriarchal ideals will remain. To allow this would lead to nothing but a failure of feminism.

I am a feminist and I believe Feminism needs to support men's issues, without which patriarchal ideals cannot ever possibly be eradicated from society.

Frequent violent thoughts over minor arguments and extremely old experiences

I'd like to just mention some info on when I believe my anger issues surfaced. As a kid, I was pretty normal. Small fights, no issues, nothing notable beyond what you'd expect from a kid. When I was 10, in 5th grade, I transferred to another school for personal reasons. There, due to some racial and religious reasons I suppose, I was bullied by all my classmates. Constant insults, body shaming, a lot of hitting and shoving, fights every single day.

The teachers tended to turn a blind eye to this, blaming me on occasion. This continued on throughout 5th and 6th grade. I had maybe 1 or 2 friends, but they too often made me the butt of their jokes. I was crying at home every single day. Once we moved away when I got to 7th grade, this stopped, though I had nightmares of those times for years after.

Now I'm 19, I'm in college, I have good friends and family. However, that experience during those ages of 10 and 11 seem to have had a massive effect on my personality. I found myself getting angry quicker, especially over anything I perceive as an insult, and a tendency to shout a lot. Also, my thoughts have grown violent. Often but not always, getting back from an unresolved arguments leaves me with thoughts of beating up the person involved, in great detail. Whenever I remember the times when I was getting bullied, it fills me with similar, often worse thoughts and frankly a lot of hate.

I find it rather shameful that something that occurred 8 years ago still affects me so badly to this day. I have worked on resolving it, I've worked on controlling my anger. But the violent thoughts and hatefulness remain fresh any time I do get angry. For personal reasons, visit a professional is not possible. I'd appreciate some help from y'all.

The rich only have power because of those willing to work for them.

As it says in the title. Being rich doesn't inherently grant power. Why would it? It's just money. BUT, it grants power because people want money. Throw money at a politician, watch policy change. Throw money at a judge, watch lawsuits disappear. Throw money at a government employee, watch long checks and processes turn into a simple procedure to get what you want. At the end, being rich means nothing unless people are willing to accept your money and work for you. You can't do shit unless someone decides that choosing you is an acceptable decision to make. And I hate that these people are ignored.

If a person is willing to put aside their morals for a quick buck, they are the reason the rich have any power. They are like parasites, because they take advantage of normal, reasonable people for their profit, knowing how much damage it causes to society. If we targeted them, the issue disappears with ease.

Cursed Technique: Sakura Ever Branching, Mind Ever Lasting

Lapse: This technique alters the flow of cursed energy in the user's body, forcing it to travel purely through the user's nervous system, including the spine and brain. Additionally, the user's consciousness is attached to it and is independent of the rest of the body. Through the technique, the user gains thorough control over their nervous system.

Singular Seed: The user's nerves are arranged efficiently throughout the body. This grants them not only voluntary control over each muscle, but also improves signal speed, allowing reflex actions and reactions at a speed of 100ms from stomuli at the farthest/least important parts of the body, to 25ms to stimuli from parts such as hands, eyes and ears.

Branches of Mind: The user can spend cursed energy to grow their nervous system. It manifests as small dark branching strands that extends throughout whatsoever object the user chooses. The nerves extend indefinitely as long as the user supplies enough CE to it. After sufficiently extending through an object, the user is able to control that object, as long as they remain pressed against the object and dont move.

For biological objects not reinforced with CE, the nerves replace the objects' natural nervous system, allowing them to take control of the object. This includes torn limbs but may extend to the complete body.

Sturdy Form: As the users consciousness and CE are held within the nerves alone, any damage to to the body does not affect their CE. If any limbs are destroyed, the user can grow their nerves through a prosthetic and it will act as part of their body. Additionally, the user does not die as long as part of their nervous system exists.

Binding Vow - Forest Manifest: This binding vow restricts the user fron growing the system of nerves infinitely. Instead, the user loses part of the nerves from their body, paralysing that part, and manifests those nerves. Nerves lost from 1kg of their body may extend through no more than 50kg of an object. A user weighing 60kg may take control of at most 3 tons of matter, but no more regardless of any form of amplification or excess CE.

In return, the user gains the ability to control objects which have a system of their nerves completely remotely, without restriction on distance. It also grants the user further control over the growth of their nerves, the soeed and spread of the system. All objects containing a nervous system carry a trace of the user's consciousness.

Progenitor Seed: After the BV, the user can 'spend' some of their nerves taking control of various animals and humans, replacing their nervous systems. Since this may be done remotely, the user can send these creatures wherever they want and maintain constant communication regardless of distance. Nerves from a mass of their own body shall disappear for this period, as accorded by the 1:50 ratio, and that part will be completely paralysed. That part also may not be reinforced by the user themselves.

Maximum Technique - Roots Beyond Drought: Within the maximum technique, the user can, if necessary, transfer their whole nervous system to another living creature. This process quickly destroys the original nervous system, replacing it completely. With time, the body starts to resemble the original.

If the BV has been activated, the user can utilize their greater control to slow down this replacement. As such, if taking control of another sorcerer, the user can avoid destroying the original brain and instead utilize the sorcerer's technique. However, this high precision and cannot be done without the binding vow. Additionally, if the process of gaining control is interrupted, the user dies instantly.

Domain Expansion - Infinite Branches of the Soul Sakura: The domain expansion forms an area within which all non reinforced items contain part of the user's nervous system. As such, within the barriers of the domain, all inanimate objects and living creatures, even the very ground, can be controlled if they're not reinforced.

Reversal: The reversal of the technique forces the users cursed energy and consciousness to travel through part of the user's body, any part they choose. Thus damage sustained to the nervous system or brain may be survivable.

How exactly is a shifter placed in the titan body?

Generally, the shifter is portrayed to be inside the nape. Their whole bodies are shown to be encased in muscle. There is little to no real showcase of the titan's spine. This scene however, with Reiner, we get a view of how the shifter is attached to the titan. And this makes no sense to me.

The base of reiner's spine is attached to the titan's spine, so are his legs halfway inside it? From this angle it also seems like the titan's spine should be visible, or at least the shifter's face should be pressed right against it, but the shifter is always shown to be encased in muscle with space to move. If the shifter is supposed to fit in the nape of the neck, it seems to me that they would have to be stuck against, if not fused with the thoracic vertebrae of the titan body, which is different from how it si portrayed.

So... how exactly is the shifter placed within?

Cursed Technique: Blasphemy - This technique activates whenever the user performs an act that may broadly be seen as disrespectful, or insulting towards religion, god and morality. The actual act doesn't have to be immoral or blasphemous in and of itself, but it must be perceived as wrong for the technique to activate. If the act tiself is truly blasphemous or immoral, it makes the technique more effective.

Blasphemy: Unlucky Draw - This form of the technique utilizes symbols and numbers commonly seen as unlucky across the world. Cultural taboos like the number 13, or the number 4 (specific to Japan) count. Breaking a mirror, crossing a black cat, trimming nails at night, insulting the dead, little taboos all count. A person may utlilize them by committing the taboo act, or in case of numbers, repeat patterns of said unlucky numbers in their actions. Succesful activation of the technique results in an extremely minor temporary boost to cursed energy output and reserves. Weak but can easily stack for greater advantage.

Blasphemy: Bloody Marks - The user can utilize this by acquiring (and displaying) symbols that mark atrocities or other. Examples include symbols like the Hakenkreuz, names of people responsible for terrible crimes, broken or desecrated religious symbols etc. Carving such symbols into areas also works. The efficacy of this method depends on how well people know the symbol. Repetition of a symbol reduces its effectiveness. Provides a minor boost to cursed energy output per symbol.

Blasphemy: Heretic's Prayer - The primary offensive usage of the technique. The user performs it by actively desecrating objects and places of importance. Religious symbols, small shrines, large temples, graves and monuments(preferably of well loved people), objects with great emotion attached towards them, like the parting gifts of lovers or the inheritance of a dead parent, or even straight up comitting murder (if necessary).

Desecration can involve anything from intentionally dripping blood upon these areas, destroying them, or otherwise polluting them. These are much harder to come by unless the environment is right, but upon activation through a sufficiently terrible act, such as desecrating and destroying a large temple, or a number of smaller bad acts, it curses the user's opponent.

The curse upon the user's opponent manifests as a small snake shaped shikigami known as Gokuaku (literally: extremely evil, heinous). It wraps around the opponent's neck and cannot be removed for 15 minutes. During these 15 minutes, the opponent cannot use reverse cursed energy and has a high likelihood of generating cursed spirits or antagonizing nearby spirits to attack them. It also produces minor but noticeable feelings of irritation or dislike towards the opponent within humans. Additionally, while Gokuaku is wrapped around them, their cursed technique requires more CE/loses efficiency. The technique user on the other hand, gains significant increase in CE production.

Cursed Technique Reversal: Repentance - The reversal of this CT allows the user to gain Divine Favour upon shedding evil symbols and performing acts of worship towards any divine being or by performing morally good acts. It wipes out the lingering effects of cursed techniques upon the user, such as techniques that depend upon marks. It also makes cursed spirits and shikigami less likely to notice the user, extending from near complete invisibility towards the weakest curses to a minor but notable tendency to 'skip over' the user in stronger ones. It produces feelings of altruism and positivity in humans around them as well. Additionally, it slightly improves the efficiency of producing reverse cursed energy, making it easier to heal.

Domain Expansion: Haven of the Reviled - This domain drains slightly higher amounts of CE from the user than others. It allows the user to automatically place Gokuaku upon anyone in the domain, and can summon an indefinite number of Gokuaku shikigami within the domain. The effects of Gokuaku on the targeted person are enhanced significantly within the domain. Gokuaku can stay around a person indefinitely while the domain is active, then it cannot be summoned for 10 minutes afterwards. Reverse cursed energy cannot be produced within the domain by anyone except the user.

Binding Vow: Weight of Sin - The user of this technique can make a binding vow by wrapping Gokuaku around themselves. All the negative effects of Gokuaku, except the feelings of irritation within other humans, apply on the user. Additionally, an opponent cannot be cursed during this period. In return, the user's CE reserves, output and production are all massively increased to many times their base amount. The vow loses effect as soon as Gokuaku is removed.
