26 M, finally feel like my apartment is generally complete

A lot of the stuff I have were graciously given to or inherited by me from other members of my family. Most other stuff are things I've nabbed off of FB marketplace (seriously, you'd be amazed on what you can find for cheap on there) or whatever I already owned before moving out. My rent is a pretty good deal right now and I love relaxing with my old school electronics/tech. Thanks for reading (:

Photos from a snowy night in February

Some photos I took around my hometown during a small snow fall this past winter. The 1st one is probably my personal favorite. Taken with a Sony DSC-H1 CyberShot (:

Macroplaza Mall, Pasadena, TX (Part 2-Now on VHS!)

Been a little bit since my last Macroplaza upload, but I finally have part 2 here, which is a walkthrough of the place using my Sony CCD-TR91 camcorder. Forgive me for the shaky movements, weird lighting and odd dialogue, lol. I actually wasn't aware that the other half of the mall was just completely walled off until I had gotten back from this trip, so maybe there's a part 3 to be had in the future. The transfer from the tape to the VCR to my recording software made the quality go down a little, as did me having to compress the file size into a small enough package for reddit. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy!

Willow Bend Mall - Plano, TX (Follow Up)

After my short trip to Macroplaza Mall yesterday (see previous post) I headed back to my hometown and spent the night there. Before leaving back, I decided to stop by the Shops at Willow Bend one last time, as from what I recall it'll be demolished pretty soon. I actually already did a post with this one, seen here: https://www.reddit.com/r/deadmalls/s/5KJYwINV7f
There were less tenants than last time, and a lot of stores were having "everything must go" sales. This included one of the artist galleries; this particular one exclusively sold canvas paintings, and I bought a couple for my apartment.
Anyways, I happened to bring my two cameras-my Sony DSC-H1 Handycam, and my Sony CCD-TR91 camcorder. I had used the camcorder for the Macroplaza Mall the previous day, and I took the chance to get a bunch of snaps of Willow Bend while trying to avoid detection from security. I know these might not be the best, but I tried to pick the best ones I had out of the 80+ photos I had from that camera. I wanna keep myself updated on this mall; but regardless of what happens to it, I'm glad I got a good collection for it. See you guys next post, cheers (:

Macroplaza Mall, Pasadena TX (Part 1)

Hey folks. Went into Houston today as part of a trip back home to see this mall, and boy was the drive worth it. This is THE deadest mall I've ever seen. One shop was open (which appeared to be a salon) with every other space being gated, flushed out, or used for storage. I'm not sure if the other stores inside were just closed for July 4th or any upcoming holidays, but I doubt that possibility. This was probably the first time I was actually sort of freaked out by a mall; it was super eerie, nobody was there, and it was dead quiet aside from the buzzing of a few light fixtures.

There will be a part 2 coming soon! It'll include potentially more photographs and/or a ~15 minute recording I took on my Sony CCD-TR91 camcorder. Once I get that onto a VHS and then into a digital format, I'll post it here. Looking forward to it (:

Richland Mall - Waco, TX

Photos from a small hop to Richland Mall in Waco during a family meet-up. This one was decent, and I can say I enjoyed walking around in there. It seemed a but busier than I expected, but it also didn't exactly seem to be "bustling". My family also happened to buy me some gifts from here, including a nice jacket and a new knife set. Have you guys ever been here? If so, thoughts?

Wonderland Of The Americas - San Antontio, TX

Time for another drop! Went here on the 5th of June, 2026. I REALLY liked this one. WotA felt like a sort of time capsule of the early 2000s with some of the culture, decorations and architecture within it. Seeing all the various flags from different nations was nice to see, and it reminded me a bit of how much more hopeful and inclusive the world felt when I was growing up; open arms to all cultures and their people. Anyways, I was attracted to this one after seeing a photo of the food court's fountain "monument", and made a day trip with my friend. Even found a game I've been looking for in one of the retro game stores, and it was just a generally nice place to walk around. Some areas felt more like an elementary school than a mall, if that makes any sense. I really liked this one. Thanks for reading, I'll probably post another mall hop soon (:

Valley View Collection

I was in town for the past few days and left to go back home today. After hearing the sudden news of the Dallas Mavericks choosing the VV site as their new stadium location, I decided I should probably stop by the place one last time to soak it in; as it would probably be the last time I ever see it that way.

To make a long story short, some camera folks were already there to sort of scope out the area for contractors I guess? Anyways, a van rolled up within a few minutes of me being in the food court area, and a security officer asked me (politely) to leave. Asked if I could take a piece of tile with me, and he was fine with it.

The big grey tile is said tile, and the other little fragments are pieces from the upper floor, the fountain, and walls. Don't know where the "U" came from, but I thought it would be neat to keep. I also have a ceiling fire alarm from the mall too, which most likely went off/became active after the mall caught fire a bit before it was demolished. Anyways, this is my little musuem of the Valley View Mall, and I hope to find a case or frame to put these in one day. Thanks for reading (:

I habe two CRTs; one I'm not using at the moment. The one I do use has never had any issues until just about 20 minutes ago. It's foing this weird slow flicker and every time the screen reverts back to whatever image it's projecting, it sounds like a bird chirping. I'm assuming this may be defective hardware since it is pretty old, but I was just wondering if anyone here had any specific diagnosis for it, and if there's a possible solution for it. For those who may ask or are wondering, it's an Envision EN-510.
