They complain the music alerts you theres a leviathan in the area, how close it is, and where it is oh wait! The music dosent do those last two things! I was describing the leviathan roars from the first game which were directional and proximity based.

S2's music will remain quiet and tense up until the collectors too close to escape from.

This might be stupid but i just finished battle for tertium for the first time. I know its not exactly a story rich game but they made some really interesting story notes. Like the cultist in the sandy maps seems to know zola, or zola knowing the twins, or zola needing to know something about wolfer. Zola really. Any other plot threads like who wolfers answering too i can let slide as some generic daemon prince/possesed thing but im really interested whats up with zola.

Im inclined to say im wrong because generally the speculative biology is so good in subnautica. Also that even the game tells you the difference. Yet protea "virus" acts exactly like an ameoba or microbe. A few quick peeves in no particular order.

Viruses cant replicate without a host. They NEED a host to be a virus. Yet bloom strain seems to just exist on its own.

Cankers, what the fuck are they? Viruses cant construct things. They cant colonize things. This would be like a computer virus infecting your PC and then building a virtual machine to run doom. The only thing that makes a modicum of sense is that the cankers are naturally occuring flowers that are just infected.

Yet the cankers need NUTRITION?? What? They filter sea water for nutrition when open and pull nutrients out of the titan rockbore when closed? Huh? Viruses are just USB sticks. They cant run a program they can only upload instructions to make more usb sticks pre loaded with malware. This is the even more ridiculous example of a usb stick manifesting a whole pc from the aether to run doom.

I get that masefield and protea function by injecting you with the DNA of nearby organisms but it walks talks and swims like a duck.

Bacteria make colonies, bacteria make growths, bacteria need nutrients. Hell it actually acts more like a fungus really.

But ill let them finish the story maybe itl all make sense

It seems like a bizarre thing for him to care about? I assume he was just bored and "along came zeus"'d his way down to see if he could talk ody into murdering an infant. Tbh i dont even know if i beleive zeus. Hes willing to lie and cheat to bang peoples wives so.
