Looking to start Chaos Marines and had this guy, do you think it can work as a Nurgle Lord Discordant?

So I'm looking to start 11th Edition with Chaos Marines, specifically a Nurgle Cult using Cultists and Traitor Guard backed up by demon-possessed marines and big demonic war machines. I actually got this guy a couple years ago but never found anything to do with him til now. It should be fine to use this as a kitbashed Lord Discordant (inspired by the Toad Dragon) in casual games so long as it aesthetically fits the bill and is on the correct-sized base right?

Fallout themed Black Templars?

What are your thoughts on a Brotherhood of Steel themed Black Templars army? I've been wanting to try a more learning-friendly army before I continue diving into my Tyranids but struggled to decide on an army until the thought occurred while I was playing Fallout, the BOS are pretty similar to the Black Templars, both are constantly on the go in a never ending expansion, both hate and kill pretty much anything nonhuman on sight, etc. Would this theme be accepted if I took such an army to a gamestore?

Struggling to decide on a army.

I enjoy 40k, but I struggle heavily with what I guess you can call decision paralysis? I enjoy so many aspects of different factions, from the lore to kitbashing and painting, I love it all. But actually picking what to do with my army has become a literal headache for me. I get so many ideas with what I can do i end up not actually doing anything and my figures end up sitting on a shelf for months before I try to pick it up again, rinse and repeat. I spent pretty much the entirety of 10th edition doing this, and finally got some kind of painting progress with my Tyranids (looking to use a batch of marines i got from my brother as a secondary army) done in time for 11th to be starting this summer. And now here I am struggling to decide, would someone help me figure out whether CSM is for me? Here are my favored aspects in an army:

- as mentioned, I like kitbashing.

- I like the lore of Nurgle, and green is my favorite color.

- I prefer an Aggressive and Melee build with minimal shooting.

- I like playing with big stuff and the "little guys".

- I dislike slow play and overly long game turns.

- I prefer to play for fun in casual games where people just play what they want.

- I believe playing solely to win sucks the fun out of the game.

- I would like to play without spending a lot of money just trying to get my army to be playable (already have a rhino, some priest marine, a doctor marine, and about 30 regular marines, 20 of which are short and 10 are primaris. And 10 marines with Cloaks and Sniper Rifles.)

So going off of my list, would CSM be the army for me? I already have Tyranids (impulse buy), but their scoring focused style seemed too advanced for me. I like Orks for their lore, but their gameplay felt too crazy for me.

Sorry for the long post, but thanks in advance.

Concept art for a Demon Prince Kitbash

Planning to kitbash myself a Death Guard Army (starting with a Winged Demon Prince, Malignant Plaguecaster, Plague Surgeon, 10 Cultists, 30 Plague Marines, a Plagueburst Crawler, and a Defiler. Planning to add some Chaos Rhinos to Ferry the Marines around.)

What do you think?

On a trip and decided to draw some Tyranids, here's a Hive Tyrant. Its not finished, but what do you think?

I am not a professional artist. I had to squish him in a bit due to my sketchbook having limited space on the pages

I think im starting to get the hang of miniature painting. (My Hive Tyrant)

My Tyranids were bought pre used, and I had to spend a long time cleaning them, failing at repainting them and having to clean them again (one of which didn't survive and literally shattered in my hands, turns out a lot of them are 3d prints). For a while I couldnt even touch them due to feeling like i couldnt get it right, but now im finally at a paint sheme I like and its actually coming along nicely. Im doing a desert theme and plan to order some Cacti decor for the bases. I just wanted to share my progress is all.

Thoughts on kitbashing Death Guard with Bloodborne minis?

So I'm starting 11th ed this year with Tyranids (Intended Main Army) and Death Guard (Learning Army). A couple years ago I impulse bought a full collection of the Bloodborne Board Game by CMON for a good price, and after having failed for the past two years to find somebody to play it with me and simultaneously deciding to get into 40k, I decided to kill two birds with one stone and toss the Bloodborne game rules and cards into the trash and keep the minis to use as Kitbashing parts along with a Loyalist Space Marines lot I bought from my Brother, using other bits and bobs while occasionally getting more units to make a full Army. So if I were to show up to a gamestore with an almost entirely kitbashed Death Guard army, would I get in any trouble with the store or players? I've read some hobby horror stories about people's bad experiences and have had a few myself, so I wanted to be Absolutely certain its gonna be okay before I commit. I'm intending to get the 10th ed Codex in order to figure out what I can build, what base size it needs, etc.

Finished drawing and Inking my Plague Marine.

What do you think? Im not a professional artist, and this isn't perfect, but I'm pretty happy with the result for a few hours work. Im gonna try to color it later.

Doing some drawing during a ride to a graduation, what do you think of it so far?

Am not a professional artist, just started because I was bored. I intend to start playing 40k hopefully sometime this year with 11th edition starting in the summer.

I enjoy kitbashing, and recently got these from my brother. At first I considered going with Black Templars, but now Im considering DG for the sheer amount of Kitbashing I can do in addition to being a fun starter army that won't get shot off the map first thing. But what death guard units could I use these as? I know the Rhino can work with some adjustments, plus a big blob of Plague Marines, but what else can I make (am unfamiliar with DG unit names)?

Ever since my brother introduced me to the hobby almost ten years ago now, I have absolutely loved miniatures. I love the possibilities you have when you combine countless figures from various games and media together into whatever weirdos you want, and I find the painting aspect to be very relaxing. But I realize that I am not much of a fan of playing the actual games involved. Don't get me wrong, Trench Crusade looks awesome, Warhammer is cool and Star Wars Legion seems like a Blast, or even the complete Bloodborne Board game collection that I managed to nab was fun for a while, but now it all just sits on my shelf. But regarding the actual memorizing the rules, whether its a couple pages or a whole book, and utilizing them properly, I realize that I just, don't care about that y'know? What bogs me down isn't what I'm gonna build or how to do it, it's "so how am I supposed to USE it?" Because I dont want dozens of miniatures just sitting on my shelf gathering dust, but at the same time memorizing a bunch of rules just turns the game into a slog for me. So I'm at a loss for what to do. I've spent probably upwards of 1000$ since I first started this hobby, yet I have yet to actually do something with less than half of what I have. Its a huge drain on my finances and its honestly got me considering dropping out, which I obviously dont want to do. Im honestly at a loss for a solution and don't really have anyone in my personal life that I can talk to about it. So what do you all think I should do about this problem?

So for context, I haven't played Minecraft since I stayed at a friend's place back in like 2012- 2013. I've wanted to play for years but never got around to it due to personal stuff and finally decided to go for it last week. The first time I spawned in a Tundra, which was fine save for me repeatedly sinking into the snow and freezing to death or dying to polar bears or some Ice Skeleton-looking dudes. Tried making a new world and I spawn into some Dead Forest area, at night, immeadiately start getting it and accidentally run towards a cliff and see some broken-necked tree-eyed Groot-looking thing and a zombie who promptly pushes me off the cliff. As I said, quite the welcome. Clearly this game has changed a lot since last I played. Just wanted to share the experience.

So my brother was looking to sell his old Space Wolves collection, which I bought off him to hopefully give new life as Black Templars. Most of these are the old Firstborn sculpts so Ill have to give them new bases, and others are missing their arms. There are a handful of Primaris, a Rhino, and what I think are a Chaplain, a Captain, and maybe a Techmarine or possibly an Apothecary? I usually collect Tyranids so Im not exactly sure if I have the models right. I intend to kitbash some other SM parts on to finish up the collection proper before I start painting. With 11th ed on the horizon, where do I go from here?
