New to PCVR, having some major issues.

Hi everyone. I recently just started doing this pcvr thing about a month ago. My buddy let me borrow his quest 3 to play games on. For about a month, I played standalone titles like walkabout, superhot, red matter, into the radius. All great games, looked great with the quest games optimizer, and was breathtaking.

After I gave the headset back, I decided to get one for myself for pcvr, a pimax crystal light.

The first thing I did with it was vrchat, exploring 1000s of worlds on vrchat with my 5070 ti. All of them looked breathtaking even the pixelated gamified minecraft ones.

Here's the problem, since then, I've moved on to other titles, and they all look blurry and horrific regardless of the render resolution I set. Doom vfr, oblivion remaster uevr, no mans sky, cybe vr, and red matter 1.

They all have this specific washed-out look to them where everything 4 feet away is super blurry and weird looking, kind of like a ps1 game. I asked for my buddies quest 3 headset back to compare red matter running on my pc to and it looked better at 1500x1500 compared to my 3k per eye on my light!!!

Like I said vrchat looks amazing gorgeous, like I would expect it to, and weirdly enough the steam vr default room and the other download able ones look great to.

This is so troubling because I dont know how to fix this since I have a display port headset its not a compression issue, and supersampling these games won't help either. Some crusty vrchat room look 100 times better lol.

Please help me im at a loss here, and about to hire a tech specialist or something to come to my house lol.

Does anyone know how to set the render resolution of uevr, BEFORE it attaches to the game?

Running the crystal light, trying to play oblivion remaster on my 5070 ti.

It automatically sets the render resolution to native which is crazy and crashes my pc immediately.

I want to have it set to 2k per eye before I attach it but I dont know how to.

I tried setting steam vr to around 2k per eye but that changes nothing. Currently running uevr through openxr please help.

I just ordered the crystal light, if I get the right comfort mods do you think I will have a good experience with standing vr?

I play all my games standing up. It really adds to the immersion for me in first person titles. I also play on getting a kiwi pulley system. The games I will be playing are alyx, skyrim, morrowind, uevr, vorpx and in general pc mods like subnautica. Mostly singleplayer stuff. Do you think I will have a good time with the headsets build and weight distribution? I heard you can make it comfier than a quest 3, and I have a big head to.

I've tried every setup imaginable for my quest, airlink, the best routers on the market with vd, and to my eyes a display port setup is still leaps and bounds ahead of compression. While I think compressed visuals can look ok in indoor enclosed areas, anything semi open were you are looking more than 6-7 feet into the horizon and it falls apart completely and quite frankly looks like straight up crap. I personally don't mind wired since once you have a good kiwi cord system setup, I dont even remember im playing with a cord... its just not an issue to me.

People dont believe me when I say this, but I've used quest games optimizer to turn up the resolution on low demanding quest 3 games on standalone, like walkabout, and red matter 1, and even though im running at most 1.5k per eye on these games, they still look faaar more clear than my pc running the quest at native, maxed out graphical settings.

Display port is a must for me. How about you guys? I'd love to hear your experience with wireless and wired to which you prefer.

With all these new pimax headsets coming out, that are 4k resolution per eye, there is literally no gpu that can take advantage of those visuals which means you will have to downgrade the resolution far below its native capabilities.

Dosent this make it blurry like a pc monitor? Lowering my 4k monitor to 2k makes it look horrible and blurry, to the point were my 1080p tn panel looks better, so why are people so hyped about these products..is there something im missing?

Even the 4090 struggles with the quest 3 in alot of more demanding titles...so what do people plan to do with these headsets?

Hello everyone. Im thinking about purchasing the light, but I had a few questions beforehand.

First of all I think its worth mentioning my interest in the light, is largely because of its display port capabilities, theres no headset in its price range, with its visuals that has a display port. Its honestly comparable to the quest 3 in cost, considering all the extra things you need for the quest to get it online with a good experience.

Anyways my fear is my rig isn't powerful enough for what I want to do with it. I actually dont play flight or racing Sims, I mainly want to play uevr mods, and singleplayer mods on pc, to name a few, skyrim mgo, fallout 4, oblivion remaster uevr, hogwarts legacy, and vorpx stuff to.

I am borrowing my buddies quest 3 atm, and these games push the 3 to its limits already. The problem I have with the quest is the visual quality lost over streaming. I've tried both the link cable and wifi router over vd and it looks awful even compared to a psvr2 for certain games I can't stomach it.

So if I have to downgrade the visual quality on the light will I end up with a blurry mess, or can it look nice? Thats my fear in a nutshell with this post.

If downgrading the pimax resolution causes it to look much worse I will just roll with my old psvr2 or get a reverb 2 and wait for the steam frame.

Thanks guys.
