Royal Pop bioceramics texture &color

As much as I like the idea of third party companies making Royal Oak style conversion bracelet for Royal Pop, there's one thing that's rather hard to make it match the Royal Pop.

It's the material.

Yes I know bioceramics is basically plastic. Maybe they mix something inside, whatever, I don't care what's inside, it's plastic to me.

I don't know how long swatch's bioceramics has been around but I know they at least had it when Moonswatch was announced, and that's 4 years ago.

One of the most successful bioceramics swatch has been around for 4 years. That means people are already making a fake moonswatch for 4 years.

Four years, and I have never seen any good fake moonswatch in terms of materials. None of them looks like the real one. I'm not even talking about case angle sharpness. I'm strictly talking about colors and finishing of the plastic.

Four years, and the fake moonswatch never seem to get the color right, even the WHITE or BLACK fake moonswatch can't match the real one.

If it's been four years and they can't make the basic color right, I don't think they can match the color and texture of the real Royal Pop any time soon. And that's not talking about the build quality of the band.

If the watch head (?) and band don't match in terms of quality and color, especially when it's *almost* match but not quite, it will quickly turned into an ugly watch right away. It's like you put a $5 bargain bin steel bracelet on a Rolex Datejust, you know it's bad, and it makes the whole watch look cheap. Unless they decide to *not* match the Royal Pop color and do something in entirely different color instead.

What if Royal Pop is actually aiming for actual rich people?

Yes I know I sound crazy but hear me out.

Sure it's a plastic pocket watch. What kind of people even use pocket watch anymore?

But what if, *what if*, it aims to be a trinket, a keychain, on lady's purses? *BUT IT IS EXPENSIVE*

The size of Royal Pop could totally pass off as a keychain. Look at Labubu, it's the size of small Chihuahua and people still hang them on purses.

For most people, including me of course, this shit is way too expensive, at half a grand for a plastic pocket watch.

*But what if it's for rich girls?*

I say girls because I don't see guys use purses as much as girls do.

What if it is meant to be a status symbol for rich people? If anyone can afford a 500 bucks keychain, what else can they afford? And it being plastic means that it sure as hell will not scratch their, presumably, much more expensive purses.

If Louis Vuitton can sell $200 little piece of fabric to wrap around purses handle, I'm sure as hell a $500 *actually functional* pocket watch/trinket would sell.

I don't know about you guys but if I was a girl and I could afford a 500 bucks keychain I would definitely hang it on my purse, it's cute, and it being an automatic movement without rotor, means that I can wind it up without breaking the mainspring.

Warning: this is a really long post. I just decided to type it all out on my phone with no structure in mind, I am not intended for this post to be review. Just skip to the bottom if you wanna read about isuper earbuds

First let me say this: I HATE iem earbuds. It never stays in my ears. Yeah yeah I know about all those "you just aren't using the right size" thing but it never works for me. I also have kids so I don't want to not hear the environment.

Since I got my Steam Deck back in 2022, I had been constantly on a hunt for non-iem wireless earbuds. My criteria for me to buy is I want 1. Use USB dongle, and 2. Must NOT be in ear earbuds, and it's a big plus if it's MX500 style.

Who knows that just two simple criteria would cut out 99% of the options in the market. I am willing to spend 300 USD for anything that fits the bill.

I have tried almost everything, that I know of, in the market that use dongle and not iem. These are the ones I tried.

  1. Sony Linksbuds UC: Sounds meh. Good connection. Not very comfortable, my ears get hurt after an hour or so, and battery don't last very long. I have used it for a few months and one day it just stops working, I sent to Sony for a repair but they said they do not repair this model anymore so they gave me refund.

  2. Logitech G Fits: Terrible TERRIBLE experience. The ear canal molding sounds good on the paper IF I can get the damn app to connect to the earbuds. I need to connect to the app to tell the earbuds case that I'm going to start the molding process. It took me 2 hours fiddling with the apps and it never connects to my phone. Returned it, and ordered new one again. This time it works, but the left ear kept coming out, so back it went to Amazon.

  3. CLEER Arc 3 Gaming: expensive, open air earbuds style. Sounds okay. Not good but not so bad. Connection is solid. But the earbuds *really* want to change EQ by itself without me doing anything. It has fancy case with screen and it can beep the earbuds in case I drop it and can't find it (actually had to use once). One day I dropped it and I guess some kind of cable got loose and I could not find anyone to fix it, it was already out of warranty and I moved to another country.

Now the options I have left are 1. Shokz Opencomm, but I don't like the boom mic, and I read online that I can't remove it. And 2. wait for ROG Cetra Open Wireless, which has the same design as CLEER Arc 3 Gaming that I had. From what I understand, it's just announced and not available to buy yet. And I am pretty sure my country is not importing it, I can find a way to import it here if there's no option. Those two costs about $250-300.

One day I just had a random thought that, what if I just find an wireless iem adapter with MMCX or 2 pin connector, and I frankenstein it with flat head earbuds, that should work too. And I looked it up online, and here it is, iSuper Evobuds Air 3.

From a quick research, iSuper is a Thai brand that sells different kinds of electronics.

Honestly from the promo photo it looks like some random white label chi-fi earbuds, the earbuds shape like non pro airbuds, and they claim it's made a little smaller to fits Asian people ears, along with ANC, yada yada yada. But they claim it works with their add ons dongle accessories. And the best part? It costs only $25 for the earbuds AND dongle.

I used the previous earbuds I tried as a baseline and all of them costs at least $150, so this one, costing only $25 sounds too good to be true. And it could be too good to be true. But I was desperate. There is only one other option available for me if I want it NOW, and that other option costs 10x more, so I bit a bullet.

And holy moly did they deliver.

The earbuds works right out of the box, it's literally just plug and play, no need for a stupid app to setup (there is an app but you don't "need" it unless you want to change EQ).Takes some time to connect to dongle, around 10 seconds, but it never not connects.

As for the sound, I don't have anything good or bad to say about it, I am not audiophile, I listen to music on YouTube, so if it doesn't sound *that* bad, I am fine with anything.

And ANC actually works! I was very surprised by the ANC, I thought it was just some bs they add to charge more. I know it's not as good as ANC on iem but I can hear noises noticably muffled with the ANC on. I added foam cover to make it more comfortable and it helps with ANC too.

Honestly I have zero complain about this earbuds. It has all the things I want (I literally only want 2 things, dongle and no iem), and it does not have the things I don't want. One thing I wish, is that the earbuds shape is more like a MX500 rather than airpods, but at 25 bucks I really can't complain.

I have Victus 16 and it only has 3 USB A ports. I need to use USB A for mouse, keyboard, controller, and dongle for wireless earbuds. USB hub is the only solution, and I have to constantly move my laptop around (just hide it under IKEA shelf at night in case my cat decide to throw up on it).

Solution?

Nitto tape on the underside of the laptop for easily removal, and VHB tape on the USB hub.

Now I have 2 extra USB ports and it stays on my laptop semi permanently.

But part of the right speaker is blocked. Not a big deal for me since I always use headphones on my laptop and I've never used the laptop speakers for me anyways. I figured I could just leave the VHB tape on only half of the hub and just leave the hub floating above the speaker port so that it won't block the sound but that can wait until later.

Redneck engineering but hey, if it works, it works.
