A few questions!
How did you go about asking for the Aripiprazole augmentation through your GP? What was the process like?
What dose are you on? For what purpose?
Any general experiences would be massively appreciated.
I have a history of quite poor mental health which came to a head in October 2025. I am really leaning into getting better; I am incredibly self motivated- countless medications, therapies, self help books- I want to get better for myself AND for the people around me because they deserve someone who is not angry and toxic and horrible.
Anyway, in January 2026 my boyfriend had scheduled a week prior to go to his old uni with his friends for an event which would have consisted of clubbing and partying etc. Sadly, and as many mentally unwell people will know, mental health ‘episodes’ sadly cannot always neatly fit into the lives of others. Long story short, my mental health episode (a particularly horrible one where I was frightened of hurting myself) coincided with the day he was travelling up. I begged all day for him to just be able to give me a ring or quick message to check how I was doing! Did it happen? No.
I was at the hospital until 1am and had no check ins from my boyfriend. For reference, my mother had to take time off work to help me out. Likewise, the university he was at was 20 mins drive from the hospital I was at.
All I needed was a phone call, a text. I wasn’t even asking for him to call it off a visit. Ultimately, I genuinely do feel resentful for this; I would move fucking mountains if my partner was in this state. On top of this, he has fallen asleep after asking how I feel and when I reply ‘suicidal, I’d love to talk’ he just drifted off. I would absolutely never do this to anyone, not least someone I am with.
Safe to say this has eaten away at me for months. There are times before with similar situations where all I needed was a simple two second text just to check in and he couldn’t do it. I understand this is a reflection of my unique needs but even despite my new amazing progress I have made with medication and therapy, the need to have a boyfriend who is attentive is paramount and fundamental to my relationship security. As a queer man who does not party or drink, having a partner who would (although this is a slightly heuristic take), choose partying over attending to me, someone who tries my fucking hardest to not burden him with my issues, was deeply damaging.
I would drive to his house an hour away if he said he was suicidal and needed me. I am resentful.
Having said that, please tell me if I am being the asshole. I need an objective opinion before this eats me up further.
I mean it works- just at about 60% capacity 😍 much better than other antidepressants (barring mirtazapine but ig that didn’t help my mood at all).
I also take 36mg Concerta XL which luckily has very limited effects on my sex drive :)

I am just finishing up the 36mg x 7 of Concerta XL. Irrespective of benefits, it is lasting for about 6hrs (‘kick in’ at 1hr-1:30, feeling ‘rushed’ suddenly dead on 5hrs 30 everyday) and then after the second peak wears off it seems to just evacuate my system rapidly.
All in all, not bad at all considering I was previously having to take Elvanse 30mg twice daily and was only then getting 8hrs coverage in total lol.
I am just wondering whether the 54mg dose may bring about a greater longevity.
In the same way, I am curious to know if anyone here can share their methylphenidate (Concerta/Xagittin Etc, Equasym, Medikinet/Ritalin XL, IR) treatment plans that allow for the greatest level of coverage.
The ADHD side of me is evidently on display here. Do I really have to think this far ahead (no, but fucking hell does it help my anxiety ☺️)

I am currently on 3 doses of Amfexa a day (in replacement of once daily Elvanse), prescribed through an excellent private provider.
Obviously cost remains an issue and thus I am just wondering whether RTC providers are able to prescribe this??
I am referred to Health Harmonie Minds who I have been asked to contact again once I am settled on a treatment plan through my private clinic however I cannot fully transition back to my RTC provider if they do not prescribe my current plan.
So yeah, does anyone know if Health Harmonie Minds prescribe Amfexa as 3 daily doses???
I would massively appreciate if anyone could share their experiences on what the correct/optimum medication regimen feels like to them!

I am currently titrating through a private company as my RTC referral was way too long and my mental health was massively being impacted. Anyway, I am currently on 30mg of Elvanse 2x a day. I am just wondering (and I know this is probably looking way too far ahead, but my ADHD mind LOVES controlling the future 💀), once my care is transferred to HH Minds, has anyone got any experience of whether my current 2x a day Elvanse regimen is something HH Minds will be able to continue. Likewise, if not are they open to adding boosters if I continue on Elvanse or switch to a methylphenidate preparation?!

-Day 9-14 reduced benefits (but still there) although finishing dead-on 3/4pm which was to be expected so not concerned
Just moved up to 50mg, currently on Day 2:
-Feeling physically ‘revved up’ but feel like my concentration is actually worsened and I am so fucking tired which is incredibly pronounced when it wears off at 3pm.
For reference, I am taking it at 9 every morning with about 20mg of protein!
I am just wondering whether anyone has any tips to get the most out of my medication AND what the right dose/medication should feel like!

Due to begin 50mg Elvanse tomorrow!
I am wondering if anyone has any experiences of the transition from 30 to 50 especially with regards to efficacy and longevity?
Just about finished my second week on Elvanse 30mg.
Without any mention of efficacy/longevity which right now is not my primary concern, my blood pressure has averaged around 124/85 and my HR probably averaging between 75-85.
My usual pre-Elvanse readings were probably 115/80 and my HR could be around high 60’s or even 80’s/90’s when anxious!!
I am just wondering whether these would be any cause for concern considering I am due to up my dose to 50mg soon. Thankfully I have found Elvanse wholly tolerable although the efficacy and longevity have begun to (expectedly) wane in the last couple days.
Coming up to nearly two weeks on Elvanse 30mg; absolutely life changing from day 1-8, now trailing off a little and lasting a little less hours each day although I know this is to be expected. My blood pressure remains around 125/81 with a BPM of an average of 84- pretty high I suppose.
Due to go up to 50mg in a couple days but concerned about the effects this may have on my blood pressure.
I am just wondering how long is enough time to assess whether a medication or dose is right for me, especially knowing that I am able to switch to methylphenidate.
This is all time sensitive as I am to return to university in October after having to suspend my studies for a year due to severe autistic burnout.
Any help would be massively appreciated!
Began titration process on Elvanse; 30mg for 2 weeks, then 50mg for 2 weeks.
I am day 5 on 30mg, experiencing a lot of emotional flatness (incredibly calm which is nice but I feel NOTHING, akin to being back on sertraline 😵💫).
Having issues in terms of getting an erection probably due to the vasoconstricting properties.
No real effect on concentration, but a pretty sizeable impact on fatigue and a complete reversal of my awful impulsivity and emotional regulation issues which is great!
All in all, a little bit of a mixed bag!
I am just wondering whether sticking it out and waiting to go up 50mg would
-Impact (positively or negatively) the issues with sex drive and getting an erection!? (💀)
-Improve focus/alleviate the all-consuming fog
-Improve the emotional flatness
OR
Would asking to switch to one of the many methylphenidate options be more fruitful especially as I am aware that in terms of release profiles their is increased flexibility!
There is an added layer or urgency in that last year I had to withdraw from my university studies due to what has now been put down to autistic burnout which includes intense fatigue and total brain fog; I went from top of my year to now thick as pig shit. My psychiatrist is fully aware of this urgency and would be happy to process a medication change- I just wanted to pop on here first to see what you opine.

I have been taking 45mg Mirtazapine for 4 months; after an ADHD diagnosis I am looking into medication.
I am just wondering what may happen in my situation where I am on the max dose of a noradrenergic and dopaminergic medication and the potential implication of ADHD stimulant medication being added? Any experiences of this with regards to retaining the high dose or having to lower the dose??

On the ADHD UK website it states that this wait is between 2-4 weeks although HH Minds informed me this may be more like 6-8 weeks?

I am just attempting to relay my experiences to see if anyone else can relate or offer some understanding!
After entering a period of depression and a heightening of my anxiety in Spring 2025 I began antidepressant treatment; the jist of my medication experience was that I constantly experienced sexual dysfunction which was incredibly distressing. All the while I was working myself to the bone with my university coursework + the new anxiety of a new relationship I had entered.
Just before I was meant to return to university I had felt incredibly burned out; I had experienced this before but this time it seemed much more severe and has seemed to stick. It was as if one day my brain ‘died’; cognitive decline after being top of my year at uni, frightening derealisation, intense fatigue, emotional numbness.
Now nearly 8 months on I am still in this burnt out state!
However, after beginning a previously effective antidepressant again I am making excellent progress!
Recently I acquired an ADHD diagnosis which seems to explain my life long hyperactivity, anxiety, feelings of being ‘out-of-place’.
All in all it seems the period between Spring 2025 and October 2025 was typified by my intense hyperfocus on university study all the while being obsessed with finding medications that would help my mental health.
Thus, now I have obtained an ADHD diagnosis and I am looking into titration, I am wondering if anyone else can relate and whether anyone can offer guidance on how these medications may support my recovery?
