I have a very specific idea on page numbers and table of contents on a document and I'm unsure how to do it?

I am writing a guide/manual/handbook of sorts in writer on mac. I want the page numbers to reflect the chapter and page, in this specific format: chapter number - page number. So, chapter 1, page 3 is: 1-3, chapter 4 page 12 is: 4-12. Ideally the TOC would reflect that as well with:

Chapter 1

Info...1-1

more info...1-3

Is there a way to do that or a template or something? Thanks.

Thoughts on HRT mega-document(s) as a resource?

Hey guys,

So I randomly decided a few days ago that I wanted to create a document(s) that outlines some basic information about hormones, that can be used in conjunction as a source to help those who are just starting hormones, want to start and are unsure, or just curious people.

The document(s) will cover: what the hormone is; formulations (i.e. shot, patch, etc.); specific types (i.e cypionate, enanthate, etc.); science (only some bits); how to take (common manufacturer recommendations, and a whole section on supplies and safely taking a shot). Sources and links will be included throughout the document and as its own section.

What it will NOT cover: DIY, sources, crypto. The reason is that I do not want to be held responsible in case the information is wrong or out of date or something happens and I feel responsible for it.

What the goals are: providing an objective resource for trans, questioning, gender-queer, non-binary, or anyone along those lines to learn what they want or need to, in order to feel safe, secure, and confident in their decision on pursuing or not pursuing HRT, as well as providing good starting points for individual research.

Why I want to do this: I am bored and I like learning and sharing things I learn. There are so many resources out there that are scattered, and I found that it was nearly impossible to find all the information I wanted in one place that made sense. I am aware of how intense this undertaking is, which is why it will take me a long time to get the document(s) posted, and why I will consider it a constant work in progress. I just want to positively affect the community by providing the most up-to-date and accurate information I can.

If there is anything you would like me to address that is not listed or something you commonly see/wonder about, either reply here or email me at xtlwcchc@clivaro.io. I WILL NOT ANSWER DM'S NOR WILL I DM YOU. If you think this is a terrible idea, also let me know and I will scrap my outline. Thanks for reading so far. I apologize for the length.

“Can I use the single-dose vial of test more than once?”

Short answer - yes.

Long answer - historically, hormones were only dispensed in a 1, 5, and 10 ml vial. There was no room for preservatives in the 1 ml vial, therefore they were single dose only. Pfizer (and generic manufacturers) has a published USP that states the ingredients of their injectable testosterone cypionate, which states that the multidose vial and single dose vial both have the exact same amount of preservative (just over 9 mg of benzyl alcohol). The question here, is why is it like that, then? It’s probably got to do with price of manufacturing and ease of dispensing, maybe tradition, or even ease for the patient to get. The most I can find on it is that the companies tested sterility for the one ml vial based on one puncture and not more, so legally, they have to say it’s a single dose. I can assume that a 10 ml vial is much more expensive than a 1 ml vial. As long as you properly prep the vial with a little alcohol swab rub, you are fine.

I probably wouldn’t say you’re “double-dipping” so 1) you can be a testosterone dragon and hoard that shit and 2) a dr may get hesitant about continuing to prescribe to you, since it is a class 3 classification and they may make an assumption you are abusing it.

So, scientifically, you are totally fine to use it more than once. Caveats: If you see specks of rubber in the vial (called corking it, from using an insanely large needle multiple times), then don’t use it! If you notice that there is an issue with how it looks, (it is supposed to be clear to yellow-ish) don’t use it.

Special note: because of the preservatives in it, there is no need to put it in the fridge. Leave it in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. Putting it in the fridge may lead to crystallization, in which case, just use your hand to warm it, or leave it out in room temp for a while. Do not do anything like put it in warm water. Just let it warm up naturally.

Legally: don’t use it more than once.

Edit: (I was finally able to edit the post, lol). I deleted my previous post about the mega-document. Google docs was not cooperating and I couldn't get the format to be what I want it to be. I am currently completely re-working the document in Microsoft word to format how I want it to, and I'm including much more research and topics. Once I determine it is either complete or as complete as I can make it, I will post it as a PDF. I will keep track of any feedback received and post up dated versions of the PDF as I see fit.

After years, the deity of dihydrogen monoxide struck me

I used to be so bad about water. Nothing could make me drink it enough. I’m talking like once glass a day maybe. Then I got a hard labor, blue collar job. My water bottle has been through hell. It’s like a 42 oz bottle. I live in the south and it’s hot as a mofo out here. Man, I go through like 4 or 5 refills a shift. I thought water from the zero filter was too notch. No, the best water is the water from the upside down jug thing that makes the water cold af, and you’re dripping sweat, unable to think about anything but water.

It’s so good. It hits so different. I don’t even want soda much anymore. Gatorade doesn’t hit like it used to. This specific water?? Oh my. It’s insane. I fucking love it. The only thing that would be an improvement is having an ice machine make that crushed sonic style ice right next to it.

That’s all. Hopefully I can be considered a hydrohomie now, even if it is just about this one water.

Need to bathe dog 3x/week for allergies, which brand do you recommend?

My 5 yr old pittie mix has some pretty bad allergies. Currently they are really well controlled with a very strict regimen (allergy food, allergy pill, fish oil supplement, wiping after coming in from being outside, ear cleaning 1x/week and now a bath 3x/week with coconut oil applied afterwards). My vet said I should just get the gallon sizes of shampoo and conditioner from amazon. I use baby wash (dove) on her face. I’ve gotten a couple of recs from some groomer friends, I’m just deciding between them.

I would prefer to *not* have to dilute it but if it’s inevitable then whatever. My choices are:

Libby Ruff oatmeal shampoo and conditioner and Cowboy Magic rose water shampoo and conditioner.

She’s a very high maintenance dog and spoiled to hell and back but she is my soul dog and I would do anything for her!

When we first started to foster vs now

Took the first pic the day we got home with her. Second pic is how she is currently. Shes gotten sassy, fat, and soiled beyond comprehension.

She has her own pillow in our (her) bed now and will only fall asleep in bed if I read a book to her (I swear this is true, I don’t know when or why it began, but it’s a thing now). She only falls asleep on the couch if she has my (her) Ugg blanket. She still has that stuffed animal, but it is blind now and stays in her penthouse (industrial, inescapable kennel that is big enough for 2 of her to comfortably lay down and walk in circles).

My wife is my world, but my sweet Nova girl is my moon!

Pharmacy told me it was a waste of money and insurance is refusing to fill my test cypionate because the script says sub q??

As the title says, I’ve been doing sub q for a couple of months, had no issue. Insurance won’t let them fill this script because it says sub q on it and will only cover for IM. I said “oh that’s weird I’ve been getting it sub q with no problem?” And the pharmacist, and old fart, completely unprompted and not part of the conversation says “it’s a total waste of money” and I’m glad I have a handful of vials left over but now I’m kind of mad that he said that and also wondering if he’s right?

I mean that was totally unprofessional and highly judgmental, right? And like he knows better than my doctor?

I did it because I’m going to secretly get her a new phone and give it to her when I drop off McDonald’s for lunch. She already picked out the phone, we talked about getting a new one. She probably figured out what I’m doing, but it will still be a nice surprise.

I also have to outshine every other partner at her work. They apparently think I’m an angel and do too much for her, so obviously it’s competition now and I must win (I’m kidding).

Her phone is a iPhone 12 mini, it gets hot when you think about or look at the phone; it doesn’t charge well; if you bump it wrong, it says there is no SIM card. If you charge and play on it, it get extremely hot. It’s a hazard and she refuses to get a new one.

EDIT: I walked in and showed everyone her McDonald’s bag, and she opened it and was so excited!! I did go ahead and buy a phone case and a screen protector and had the people put the screen on for me. But I put it in the box with the charger and stuff, so she has a nice pretty phone, no fingerprints or anything lol. She apparently complained to some coworkers about her phone but they were super pumped when they saw it. I can post a picture if you guys want lol. I was so giddy when they opened the door for me!

My pitbull mix, Nova, is 5 years old, a little on the chunky side, but not enough to be super concerned (BCS is 6). She is on Zenrelia and Prozac, Gabapentin for acute anxiety. Initially, we thought her constant itching was environmental allergies, hence the Zenrelia, and it worked really well for that. However, she licks constantly, all the time. I started giving her baths every 2 weeks, using Skout's honor shampoo (2 washes) on her body and dove baby soap on her face. After her bath, I put coconut oil on her. It helped immensely, but now we know when she needs a bath because her licking gets really intense in the days leading up to her bath. The vet suspects that, because she gets baths so often and I put oil on her, that it's difficult to tell just how allergic she is because her skin is so good.

Her vet suspected food allergies and we did a trial, but she wouldn't eat the food because she hates chicken flavored anything with a passion, and not much changed. I think I may ask the vet for Royal Canin select protein food, as she does really well on Blue Buffalo Basics lamb flavor. Her licking has decreased a little bit since starting the blue buffalo, but it still picks up a day or two before her bath. I want to switch from Blue buffalo because I saw that they had issues with Dilated cardiomyopathy in their grain-free food, which basics is one of those; and Royal Canin is a WASVA food.

The issue I have is that I know I am not helping much because I have paranoia about her dental and gut health. She gets a milkbone at night and she is on native pet multivitamin and probiotic, she also gets the greenies pill pockets for her medication. I know those have allergens in them, but I didn't think much about it until recently and my god is my dog picky as hell.

I am having trouble finding a good probiotic that doesn't have allergens in it, I saw fortiflora has "hidden chicken" and now I'm worried about finding a probiotic supplement that I know for a fact does not contain any allergens. I also want to get her a dental chew that is a novel protein or something that doesn't have allergens in it either. I checked that her toothpaste does not have allergens (petsmile). I also need a pill pocket alternative, since she is so picky, it's hard to give her her pills. I was looking at a coffee wood chew, yak chew, and zignature biscuits, as well as CET enzymatic chews. I have some concerns about her joint health, just because I know pitties are prone to ligament tears, but I don't see any allergy friendly joint supplements (she also prefers powder on her food). I also am looking into making a balm out of bison tallow, manuka honey, and beeswax for post-bath, as I am allergic to coconut oil.

I apologize for the length, I tried to be thorough and detailed as possible. Thank you for taking the time to read this and any suggestions are appreciated! I don't want to be the crazy parent to my dog who does far too much, but I also want my dog to be as healthy and happy as possible and her itching makes her miserable. Especially her ears, which she cries anytime i clean them, but the vet said she doesn't have ear infections and she may just be dramatic. Anyway, thank you again.
