A huge thank you to everyone at The Arc Hotel Liverpool and Anthony Donnelly at Uban Canvas for such a special tribute, and a special thanks to tonybellew for arranging the visit and taking me down to see it. I was more than happy to add my signature to it while I was there.

Apologies to everyone living nearby who now has to look at my face every day. Hopefully, it doesn't affect the house prices too much!

Sir Kenny Dalglish delighted the staff of the ARC Hotel on Anfield Road when he paid a visit to the huge new mural dedicated to him on the side of the hotel, signed it, and added his message.

The mural was painted by artist Anthony Donnelly and features Sir Kenny surrounded by newspaper clippings and banners highlighting some of the biggest moments of his career.

The decision will be taken later in the preseason as he still hasn't met almost half of the squad.

"I haven't seen them face-to-face. So, I think we will take the decision when it happens.

But I always say you don't need to wear an armband to be a leader, to be a captain.

Sometimes I understand here in England it has a lot of meaning, there is a lot behind it, but I've had a lot of captains, / leaders without wearing the armband.

You can lead a team. You can be an important player, you can be..not just because one wears an armband. it has to be like that.

No, we need more than one or two vice-captains. We need a lot of captains on the pitch. We need as many as we can. Yes, I'm sure that whatever the decisions we take in terms of the armband, a lot of players will continue leading.

Kevin was one of the very best players of his generation and wore Liverpool's famous number 7 shirt with great distinction. His achievements on the pitch were exceptional, but he was also a wonderful person and a genuine gentleman.

Kevin's qualities didn't stop when he finished playing. He went on to become an outstanding manager, and what he built at Newcastle United brought belief, excitement and pride back to the football club. He gave so many people wonderful memories and his teams played the game in a way that supporters loved to watch.

Football has lost one of its true greats.

My thoughts are with Jean, Laura, Sarah and all of Kevin's family and friends at this very sad time.
