What should I do?

I had a 13.1 easy long run scheduled for last Saturday. I ran with a friend instead and ran 12 miles (3.5 easy 5 at 7:50 and 3.5 easy) it was difficult but got it done.

I have a 15 mile practice run this Saturday with 3 easy and 3.5 at race pace (7:55-8:10) —> 2.5 easy —> 3 at race pace —> 3 mile easy.

I feel fine; runs this week went as planned. Do I make this Saturday run an easy 15 or stick to the original plan? I have 2 more 15 mile practice runs in the plan.

Alpha Flys

It’s the best and worst time of year for fall marathon training! I am running the NYC marathon this fall, and I’m looking to finish in the 3:45-3:50 range.

Anywho, I’ve been a huge fan of asics gel nimbus, wore it for my first marathon a few years ago. I have then switched to super blasts and I love them. I just bought Nike Alpha Flys because they were on sale for a great price.

I’ve always known they are for faster runners but my friend and I can’t turn down a good sale.

Are they appropriate for a 8:30-8:40 pace?

I plan on trying them out for a race pace long run in a few weeks.

Major caveat: I’m using Runna and my time goal is definitely way too generous of a 3:30 marathon time.

Transferring out of D75

May sure is “March-ing” but that’s okay, almost over.

I got tenure this year, and I remember telling myself that after I got tenure, I would leave D75 to teach general ed. I teach PHYS. ED. I have a great job, I do summer school every year. But I never saw myself as a career teacher in D75.

Is there anyone that started out D75 and then switched to gen ed PHYS ED? Or even classroom teachers. What was your experience like.

The only thing that bugs me in D75 and I’m sure PHYS Ed or other specials in Gen Ed elementary can relate, but I am nothing more than a prep teacher and I’m very much over it.

Hi all! I have been searching spots all over the west coast to go see Noah Kahan with my girlfriend (surprise birthday gift). It is roughly 1,200 dollars to see him in NY, but 300 to see in PHX at Chase Field. So I thought about making a trip out of it. What are some nice hotels that people recommend that are not wildly expensive (500~) for 4 nights. With airfare, hotel, rental car and tickets I would be all in around 1500 or so.

I understand that it is August and its going to be HOT. Any recommendations while visiting would be great! And for anyone that is a runner, I am marathon training during this trip sooo please any advice would be helpful! Thank you!
