I just started my first job and I am thinking of getting a credit card. But my family or I have always been sceptical about it. We have believed in spending our own money. But recently, seeing everyone around me get a card I feel like I might be leaving money in the table. Can someone tell me if there are real benefits of buying a credit card? I am not going to spend more than what I earn anyway. And if so, which one should I get?

Also, since I just received my first salary I want to buy an iphone for my mom, so it would help if I could get some kind of discount from that card or reward points etc.
