I keep making people think I don't like them because I'm too scared to say anything.

Whenever I'm with someone I don't know very well, I tend to overthink every question or conversation I could have with them. It feels like I dismiss almost any question that comes to mind if it doesn't directly affect me or isn't something I'm genuinely curious about. I don't know why I do this or how to stop.

Today I was with a girl who I've been told likes me, along with a few other people. She asked me a couple of questions, but I couldn't get myself to ask her anything back. Later I was told that she felt like I didn't like her. Hearing that really bothered me because I realized this isn't the first time something like this has happened.

The confusing part is that my mind isn't completely blank. I can think of questions to ask, but as soon as I do, I feel like they're not worth asking. They feel too forced, too uninteresting, or too pointless. Then I don't say anything, and the moment passes.

What I don't understand is why this still happens even when I believe the other person probably wants to talk to me. If I think someone likes me and would genuinely enjoy having a conversation, why do I still feel like every question I come up with isn't worth saying? It feels like there's some mental barrier between thinking of something to say and actually saying it, and I don't really understand what that barrier is.

Is there anyway I m17 can respectfully reconnect with ex f17 after breakup?

The girl and I had dated from November to January, but since we were going to different colleges next year she didn't think it was a good idea to date in college and thought it was better we stayed friends. We continued to talk a lot after, and eventually hung out as friends, and asked each other to our proms(we went to different high schools). We went to my prom, and it seemed to have been a good time. After that, she seemed to avoid plans, and became distant. When I asked her what was wrong she said she felt conflicted with college and how things felt between us, and she wanted to go to her prom alone.

Since then, we haven't talked. It's gotten a lot easier with time, and I'm genuinely excited to start college. I can go hours without thinking about her now, and when I do, it's usually just a passing thought. And I've accepted her opinion on the whole college thing, and don't have any desire to change her opinion on it or start something again.

I guess I'm just wondering if there's any respectful way I can reconnect with her. She is such an important person to me, and really helped me when I was really struggling after my parent's divorce, so its been really hard to feel like i've lost her from my life entirely. I don't want to make things more difficult for her, but I just wish I could have her back in my life in some capacity.

What is FYSOP?

I signed up for it on the orientation thing assuming it was like a day of service, because there was nothing else to do that day. I was looking at other posts about it and they’re talking about like having to pay for it, moving in early, and multiple days of work. On the website it says that it’s free at least, but is the other stuff the same?

How much money should I save for freshman year?

I’m an incoming freshman and I have like $10k saved up(will be a decent amount more by the end of summer), but I’m looking to invest some of it. I plan on eating at the dining hall as much as possible.
I’ve been looking through posts and all I see is people either saying like $50-100 or like $2000 per month, which both just seem a little unrealistic.
I feel like my only major expense would be going out and stuff like that, so what’s a realistic and safe amount of money I should save?

Still no dorm…

I’m a freshman and I still haven’t gotten my dorm. I called a week ago and they said they were working on it, but nothings happened since. Should I be concerned?

Is everyone supposed to get their dorm assignments at the same time?

I’m an incoming freshman and I didn’t get my dorm assignment yet, but I’m seeing other people did. Is this normal?

My 17M friend/ex 17F randomly ghosted me I think. What can I do?

So this girl and I dated a few months ago, but she felt that since we are going to college next year and neither of us wanted to do long-distance, we should just be friends. Since then, we continued to text basically daily, but didn't really hang out or see each other in person. Recently, since we are both going to each other's proms, I thought it would be good to do something, so we went bowling. It was a really good time, and she said we should do something again the next week, but it did kinda seem like she still had feelings for me(as do I, but I also really value our friendship, so I've been putting it first). We didn't end up doing something else until my prom, because her mom was making her study.

My prom seemed to go really well too. There were a few moments which seemed somewhat romantic(dancing, holding hands, just general closeness, etc.), it didn't seem to be intentional on either of our parts; it just kinda felt right.

After prom, I asked if she wanted to go do mini golf, and she seemed open to the idea saying something like "ye, ill have to check my calendar though". Then when I asked if she what days work she said she couldn't and gave me a reason. Then I asked if she'd want to do it next week and she gave a similar response to the previous time I asked. After I asked, she seemed to get kinda distant and, really spaced out her texts.

On Tuesday of the next week, I asked if she knew if any days worked that week, and I received no response. It has now been about 90 hours and its at the point where she likely would've initiated a conversation if she happened to miss the message. I'm not really sure why she would do this, and I don't know what I should do.

This is kinda similar to what happened when we broke up, so I guess I'm concerned that its something with like, feelings conflicting with college. It feels like I'm losing her as a friend. I'm not sure whether I could send her a message, or if it would be better to give it some time and hope that she responds.

If you have any opinions I'd really appreciate it.
