The last believed survivor of the “Long March” during the Chinese Civil War celebrated her 105th birthday.
Her name is Wang Quanying, she joined the Red Army as a medic when she was only 14 years old.
Born into a Tibetan family in 1921, Sichuan province, she lost both parents by age one.
From age five, she was forced into harsh labor.
When the Red Army entered her hometown, Wang was attracted by their policy of protecting the poor and joined the Women's Independent Regiment.
The one-year-long march starting in 1934 under the leadership of Mao Zedong is viewed as one of the most daring military manoeuvres in modern history.
The Chinese Communist Party defied all odds, including total defeat, by what is often described as sheer revolutionary willpower.
Starting with about 100,000 people, only around 8,000 survivors eventually made it to their destination in Yan'an.
During battles with the Nationalist forces led by Chiang Kai-shek, Wang Quanying was cut off from her unit and went into hiding in 1936. Authorities verified her as a veteran in 1984.
Kim Jong Un analysis on the current situation of growing nationalism in the imperial core.
Today, the world is witnessing rampant ultra-nationalism of modern version such as 'America First' idea, Zionism, Ukrainian Neo-Nazism and Japanese militarism, international instability reminiscent of the disastrous scene a century ago when the whole world was involved in wars and bloodshed through collusion with one another, and frenzy high-handed and arbitrary practices of a certain country ignoring international laws.
The U.S. indiscriminate and high-handed practices have dangerously impacted on its satellite forces and resulted in further deterioration in the bloody situation in Europe and Middle East..
The steadfast foreign policy stand of our Party and the DPRK government is to firmly adhere to our principle of struggle against the enemy, strengthen the allied front with the anti-imperialist, independent forces and resolutely fight against the imperialists' moves for aggression and war..
Unimaginable astonishing incidents and events beyond the concept and common sense are taking place one after another and wars, bloodshed and political and economic instabilities are becoming a daily occurrence in the world due to the gangster-like and unlimited geopolitical greed and misuse of strength of the hegemonic forces, unprecedented since the Second World War.
As a result, an inter-camp confrontation between the forces for independence or domination is getting fiercer. This is a feature of the extremely acute and variable international situation at present

That one time The Last of Us 2, which was directed by an Israeli settler, tried to justify the murder of Palestinian children.
So this is gonna be a fun one.
I don't know if we have many gamers on this sub, but there's a very popular video game franchise called the Last of Us, which is what the highly acclaimed HBO series is based on.
In this game, you fight the Seraphites AKA Scars, a backward, murderous death cult who are known for their brutal executions and violent ways.
This game was written and directed by Neil Druckmann, an Israeli settler who grew up on the illegal settlement of Beit Aryeh, built on stolen Palestinian land about 20km to the north of Ramallah.
According to Druckmann, the game was inspired by the Israeli-Palestinian "conflict" and, naturally, this death cult is based on, you guessed it, the Palestinians!
So in the game you spend most of your time killing Palestinia... uhhh, Scars while controlling a very buff, strong, and independent woman whose name is Abby.
The entire game is basically a shitty revenge fantasy whose plot was so bad that it caused a huge controversy and became a symbol of the so-called culture war in the US, and it probably resulted in the death of the franchise because of how shit it was.
In the video above, the characters are discussing the killing of a bunch of Seraphite children, and the main character and her best friend agree that their killing was more than justified.
SPOILER ALERT: The pregnant lady that opposed the killing of the children gets murdered in the game too. I bet Neil had fun writing that part.
Naughty Dog, the studio that made the game, prides itself as being one of the most progressive game development studios in the industry and a leading advocate of female representation in this male-dominated field.
So maybe someone should be asking how such a progressive studio not only hired a Zionist settler, but also let him make a video game built around the fantasy of taking revenge on Palestinians and killing their children. Because If Neil Druckmann wasn't working for Naughty Dog, you'd probably see him burning Palestinian houses and participating in pogroms in the West Bank. Beit Aryeh settlers are known for attacking surrounding Palestinian villages and stealing their water.
